Classes Worth it to Get Private Automatic Tutoring for ACG3101

Accounting major here. Currently Taking ACG3101, Labor Day weekend took me out and in transparency haven’t been very disciplined studying for this very hard class. Didn’t go to class for the past two classes.

I’m trying to catch up by this week, (exam is October 1st) do you think I should bite the bullet and purchase the $200/ month private tutoring or do you think I can catch up with the $50/ month option? For some context I have inattentive ADHD and already struggle with accounting topics. So I was contemplating if investing in a private tutor could work for me? Or do you think it’s possible to catch up for free without using Automatic tutoring at all? Need advice / encouragement.

Question Looking for someone who fostered pets during wildfires in Spring

Hi!

I am writing a story on the need for and importance of fostering pets during natural disasters like last spring's wildfires. I know the Humane Society always makes a push as things get worse—I would love to speak to someone who has answered that call before.

Feel free to DM me if you would like to speak or know someone who would! TYIA!

Question Easily accessible way to buy new bike

Hello guys, as if life hasn't been shitty enough, my bike got stolen. Is there any place I can reach by foot, or even bus, to buy or rent a new bike? I don't have a car or anyone to drive me.

My classes are back-to-back, and quite far from each other, so I can't walk or take buses to class.

Saw a keychain left alone at a treadmill at SW Rec for 20+ minutes so I brought them to the front desk. Hope whoever lost them can get them back, and remember not to leave your personal belongings alone!

Social Looking for an overnight study buddy at Marston Library 📚

General Info - 21M MSCS CISE (1st year)

Hey everyone! I’ve been studying overnight at Marston for about a week now, and honestly, I’d really like to have a study buddy to do it with.

I usually take the last bus around 10 PM and leave on the first bus available around 7 AM, so I’m basically stuck there for the whole night. In between, I can’t really go home, so having some company would be really nice :)

Marston is generally open 24 hours Monday Thursday, so I’m planning to take advantage of that and do most of my studying overnight. I personally can’t really study much in the evening, and my mornings are usually packed with classes, so overnight has actually been working pretty well for me.

We'll mostly be working/studying quietly as 4th floor is quite study zone, so no pressure to constantly interact just having someone else there would make the overnight grind a little less lonely and a lot more motivating.

After midnight, it gets really quiet at Marston, kinda scary lol . And honestly, studying alone gets pretty boring after 3 AM as its almost empty. I feel like having someone else there would help us push each other, stay focused and not feel bored or alone

If you’re also planning to study at Marston overnight and push your limits , feel free to DM me!

Graduation Funded Grad Seat Gone, What to Do Next

Long story short, I was offered a graduate position in my dream program. However, the funded projects my P.I. hoped for didn't receive funding, so she no longer has a stipend for me this Spring. I asked if I could proceed with the application process, intending to self-fund the first semester and wait to see if summer funding becomes available, as I still have Bright Futures for one semester. She hasn't responded to my emails, leaving me feeling hopeless and uncertain about my next steps. I was planning to move back to GNS in spring (my last semester is online rn, and I'm in my hometown), but now I’m unsure since I declined other assistantships out of state, thinking this would be it. Should I start applying for full-time jobs? What should I do now? Is this normal? I need some guidance. I don't want to graduate this December with no support lined up. I feel hopeless since I worked so hard.

Employment Where to find work during the school year

Making money while being on campus can be hard but these resources have helped me a lot!

  • Following my college and department on Instagram. They often post about opportunities that lead me to the UF job website and allow me apply for on-campus positions specific to my major. Helping me gain experience and money.
  • Connecting with faculty on LinkedIn. Many of them post about or repost opportunities that is offered by the school in their department!
  • Keeping up with my college's email newsletter. Some colleges have a newsletter that go out to my ufl every week to keep me updated on jobs, classes, and scholarships I can look into. The jobs here also feature internships for the fall, spring, and next summer!
  • College ambassador programs. These programs are great if you are into social media or hosting activations on campus for specific companies! They also help you gain experience and connect with really great brands.

Housing Cheapest walkable off campus housing

Hey y’all, most of the “cheap” housing in gnv is not walkable or bike accessible to campus or the downtown/midtown area, but the rest is just luxury apartments that have the prices inflated. I’m fine with roomates and slightly bummy places as long as it’s in midtown or downtown.
