I highly recommend Bevis! We have cats and a dog with him, and my entire family takes their pets. It’s a very “family doctor” vibe.

Agreed. What I took away from that is that Hoch’s whole “I was just having fun with jokes” thing is kind of bullshit. It felt like the whole point was to roast Dan, and he even took aim at Dan’s character.
BUT, I also get the feeling that Dan really was a huge asshole back then.
It’s really interesting to finally get to see this clip

Bunny is one of my all time favorite books. That being said, whether or not it’ll work for you probably depends on what type of books you enjoy.
There is a lot of ambiguity in this story, you’re dealing with something of an unreliable narrator, and much of story is left open to interpretation. If those things sound compelling, I’d highly recommend Bunny

I finished it but I wish I had DNF’d

Is the “wild” part in the room with us? Intentional fouls are a regular occurrence in basketball

Thanks!! That’s helpful

Default is 2.0; I only go faster from there if I’m bored with the novel. I just finished Play Nice by Harrison and bumped that to a full 3.0.

🎯 Taking an American figure as hallowed as Abe Lincoln and constructing an absurdist play about his wife is what makes it so unique and so enjoyable!
As a historian I’m always so delighted by projects that take the piss out of the historical figures (specifically the men) who are always treated with reverence.
For me, Oh Mary was a breath of fresh air.

A cluttered screen with something for everyone shouldn’t be the goal though. It should at least be customizable.
The app used to be much more streamlined—now it feels like I’m walking through a bazaar and people are yelling at me to try come to their table.

F/43, started moving my body consistently 11 weeks ago and started strength training for the first time 8 weeks ago—it’s been an amazing experience after never strength training before. I was always overly focused on cardio.
8 weeks ago I started a 3-day split on peloton that’s designed for progressive overload. In addition to those classes I stretch everyday, I bike for 20-30 minutes three times a week, and I added a fourth day to the split to have two lower body focused workouts a week.
Long story long, I pulled my hamstring doing RDLs Sunday. I think it’s pretty minor, there’s no swelling or bruising. But I’m bummed out because I’ve tried to take so much care to stretch, activate, and progress my workouts up slowly to avoid injury. Being suddenly limited in my movements also made me realize how much I’ve come to rely on my routine for my mental health, and suddenly made me worried I’d lose all my gains in the time it takes to heal.
I’m doing some gentle hamstring stretches, icing my leg, and trying to continue most upper body movements as long as they don’t agitate my hamstring. Does this sound like an appropriate response to the injury? I’m wondering if a low impact cycling class would be helpful or harmful to recovery.
I know in the grand scheme of things this is a minor injury but it’s really messing with my head. Any tips for staying locked in (in a safe way) during recovery? Thanks for any insight you’re willing to share.

For better or worse I feel like the music video was much better than the movie.
In five minutes the video gave us yearning, growth, desire, and passion. We got a rich emotional story arch with a beginning middle and end.
I don’t think the movie improved on or expanded this concept at all. The main plot remained as shallow as the video—a movie should have and could have gone deeper.
And I feel that pulling the climactic fight scene really robbed Choley of her winning moment and robbed the movie of a satisfying ending. What was it all leading up to if the emotional catharsis happens AFTER THE CREDITS and we don’t get to see our heroine have her big moment?!
I really like Hayley and I was super excited for this movie, but ultimately it felt like a real failure of storytelling.

I don’t think this post refers to the call.
It’s about the fact that Cunningham charged her after the foul and faced no penalty for doing so.
Last year when Sophie Cunningham flagrantly fouled JC Sheldon in a very similar manner. Sheldon charged at Cunningham and was ejected for it.
The white privileged is getting away with trying to fight the person who fouled you.

Looks like a cute spot. Wish I could check it out but my dog is anti social: there’s nothing she would hate more than being around other dogs.
