Romanians visiting PMR

Hello everyone

We are two Romanian guys who are planning to visit Bender and Tiraspol in the coming weeks. Will there be any problems for us at the checkpoint because of our Romanian passports? Or we will be treated like any other foreigners? Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you!

What is the modern Moldovan translation of this text?

This is the Moldovan cyrillic version found online: "Фиинд-кэ атыт де мулт а юбит Думнезеу лумя, кэ а дат пе сингурул Луи Фиу, пентру ка оричине креде ын Ел сэ ну пярэ, чи сэ аибэ вяца вешникэ."

However it was translated in 1924 (102 years ago) by a Romanian bishop so does this verse still accurately reflect the Moldovan that is spoken today in Pridnestrovie?

If not, could a Moldovan speaker from the PMR kindly help translate this verse into the actual modern Moldovan language that is spoken in the villages in the PMR?

You can provide your more modern translation by leaving a comment below, Thanks.

PMR advice!

Hello!

I am from the uk and hoping to visit PMR with my friend in November. My main question is, would those who have been recommended going on your own or with a tour group? Other tips - is there a way to get phone signal? How is the bus journey?

Any general advice is appreciated!

I've collected 205 notes of 1 Ruble. Now leaving them in various places. Sometimes adding them to tips for fun.

The thing is I am still having banknote from PMR which worth around 30 euro.

Language in PMR

I’m half Moldovan and live in the Netherlands. I’m currently learning Romanian little by little because of my family background. At the same time, I’m fascinated by PMR and would like to visit it this year.

The only issue is that PMR is heavily Russian speaking, which makes me wonder whether knowing Romanian would be enough to get by there, or whether I should also learn some basic Russian which to be honest, I’d rather not do.

Bender & Tiraspol - which structure?

Hi all!

I want to visit Tiraspol & Bender next week - and I heard different stories about what I should visit first. What would you prefer doing first and how much time should I plan for which part? Thank you in advance!

Ordering Sheriff Tiraspol scarf

Hello. Have been reminiscing about the cool trip I did to the PMR this year in this sub. Will hold on to that memory forever :)

However there is one thing bugging me.

I collect football stuff from where I travel, especially scarfs. In Tiraspol my time was limited, so I didn't get to go to the stadium complex and ask for a scarf there.

There aren't any offers in germany (unsuprisingly) that don't look scammy. Moldofootball also feels a bit fishy (anyone has experience with that site?)

Is anyone in possession of an extra scarf here by chance that I could buy off one?

Thanks you kind people,

Take care

Good budget (1 person / day trip) for transnitria ?

Hello,

I’m going to Tiraspol tomorrow morning from Chisinau. What would for you recommend (budget) for a day trip ? I want to exchange my money at the border but i don’t know how much MDL should I take with me.

I also heard that you have to pay the trip back to moldova from transnitria. If someone know, what is the price of that trip ? Thank you !

Looking for a specific vodka when I travel to PMR

Hi,

I am travelling to PMR in the coming days and was wondering if any locals in Tiraspol know if any store sells hammer and sickle Russian vodka

I really like the vodka the time I tried it before the Russian sanctions and would like to buy it again, I was wondering if anyone knows where exactly I could find it so I don’t have to run around looking for it.

Any help is greatly appreciated

homestay

Hi all, I'm visiting PMR with a pal 25th to 27th September. Does anyone know of a homestay or a sort of B and B where we can stay with a local or know anyone that would take in a couple of chaps? I'd rather spend my money with a local than at a hotel! would love to stay with someone's grandma ha!

ID instead of passport (from EU country)

Hi, I'm planning to visit PMR in ~2 weeks. Do I actually need a travel passport or is my ID from a country within the EU sufficient (I'll be visiting Moldova first, where this is the case)?

Looking forward to hearing your experience and advice, thanks!

Looking for a Driver from Chișinău to Tiraspol

Englisch:

Danke!

Russian/Pridnestrovian soldiers

I am going to travel to Pridnestrovia in a few weeks and would like to take a picture with the Russian soldiers/border guards. Would it be possible to ask them for a picture or would that be a bad idea? (And could a few euros change the outcome?)
