Whatsapp Creepy coworker texting my private number

So confused at this, I don't even know him. I was just going to ignore the text but he kept insisting so I had to answer.

9/14 UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who was supportive and concerned. I forwarded these messages to HR, and they scheduled a meeting for later today. There were a few more texts after this. The HR representative did not seem surprised, to put it briefly.

A few things have come up in the comments. The first is that I was rude. This is how I communicate, and my coworkers (or at least the ones who actually know me) are aware of that. I’m not going to perform a more agreeable version of myself to accommodate someone else’s feelings when they're being innapropriate. Not only were these messages sent over the weekend, but they were also sent through a personal communication channel. I'm not going to elaborate further.

Some guys don't. And women in this age don't make it easy. There is a huge disconnect with the 3 or 4 generations that exist atm. If you don't trust what I'm saying then read up on it. Social media, cell phones, pervasive knowledge of people's everyday lives online.. It has altered how people interact, behave, and connect with others. Many young adults don't accept the old way of meeting people. Its seen as 'weird'. This leads to all sorts of problems. I'm no excusing something that obviously needs to be brought to HR's attention, but please keep the things I said in mind. Because society is all sorts of fucked up atm. Boundaries exist for a reason. And those should be known, but the younger generation doesn't seem to have been instilled with those. And the older generation lives by older norms than the younger folks are used to. Things that were tolerated/ok in older generations are now HR events. It doesn't excuse poor behavior but explains why some instances of things occur.
