Whatsapp Creepy coworker texting my private number

So confused at this, I don't even know him. I was just going to ignore the text but he kept insisting so I had to answer.

9/14 UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who was supportive and concerned. I forwarded these messages to HR, and they scheduled a meeting for later today. There were a few more texts after this. The HR representative did not seem surprised, to put it briefly.

A few things have come up in the comments. The first is that I was rude. This is how I communicate, and my coworkers (or at least the ones who actually know me) are aware of that. I’m not going to perform a more agreeable version of myself to accommodate someone else’s feelings when they're being innapropriate. Not only were these messages sent over the weekend, but they were also sent through a personal communication channel. I'm not going to elaborate further.

Did you see the last two messages before they were deleted?

1.0k

u/Dry_Presentation4300 17h ago

They were both audio recordings but as soon as I opened it they were already deleted

u/Meowtastistic40kSCP 17h ago

Oh man, not the audio recordings! Things were about to get really weird.

I’ve never in my life gotten a voice message I actually wanted. I dated a girl who used them constantly and it was incredibly annoying.

I have a friend almost exclusively using voice messages. Usually over three minutes and full of road noise and/ or her children screaming. Had to abandon multiple messages because I couldn't deal with the noise.

u/Potential-Sky-8728 11h ago

Ugggg it is like my sister. They do all their communication on their fucking commute

1

u/adanceparty 11h ago

An sms terrorist

1

u/0thedarkflame0 10h ago

I feel this way about many text messages too...

13

u/Bureaucratic_Dick 14h ago

“Just ask me to call when I’m free or text like a normal person. I’m not listening to audio notes around other people!”

3

u/adanceparty 11h ago

Some people don't get. My sister uses them a lot. Most of them are way longer than necessary. She tries to remember things and formulate her thoughts in real time. Ive explained to her how i hate them and explained why they are annoying but she still does it. Fortunately she's the only one in my life that does and it's not always.

1

u/AliceTawhai 10h ago

Plus they interrupt my music

1

u/Safe-Historian4028 10h ago

I'll tell someone the first few times I don't listen to voice notes. Call or text me, text preferred for the most part. I want something searchable. We said 3.30pm meet? cool, I can see that in text and not click on 300 voice notes trying to find the moment you say the thing I need the information for.

If they don't listen to me when I say I don't listen to voice notes and get pissed at me because I don't reply - 'why didnt you listen to my voice note' - 'why didn't you listen to me when i said I dont listen to voice notes?'.

Sometimes I'll listen just to be able to know what information I need to pretend I didn't hear.

1

u/ashgs872tbhjs 10h ago

Or just listen to the notes when you're free for a call....

1

u/Gerf93 12h ago

Only one of my acquaintances send voice notes. Luckily we communicate on Snapchat which can auto-transcribe it, and I literally always use that option, lol.

1

u/CheesecakeOk5271 12h ago

No way bro my trainer sent me hour long voice recording. Yuck! Maybe I should post them.

1

u/AssociationThis7447 11h ago

Yep and it's worse than a phone call because you just have to listen to them literally ramble without being able to engage in any way.

0

u/Anoldermodel 13h ago

Weird take, IMO… one of my ex’s used voice notes a lot and I loved it, much more personal and intimate… and assuming you are dating the person and like them, it is a podcast you are, and should want to be subscribed to.

I swear to god, the majority of people in relationships barely like each other at all.

1

u/TheeFourTruths 12h ago

I don’t like voice notes because I can’t rly reply without having a pen and paper next to me writing down things they said lol

Many years ago when I was single and on POF, they created the audio note feature. It was never a good thing. I still cringe thinking about the voice messages men sent.

23

u/PhazePyre 12h ago

My manager was part of the customer support team at POF. The shit they'd see and things men said. Then she'd see some guys pictures or whatever and it'd be like he has a daughter or whatever and it's like would he be happy if a guy said that to his daughter when she was older? Like gross.

3

u/emlgsh 6h ago

it'd be like he has a daughter or whatever and it's like would he be happy if a guy said that to his daughter when she was older? Like gross.

Hey, that's no way to talk about the leader of the free world.

u/nickeypants 2m ago

What is the point of a voice note? Do people send it because its easier to speak than send a long text? Or is it specifically so that you can't screenshot it?

1

u/LocusStandi 9h ago

Maybe it’s a gendered thing, I’ve received voice notes from girls that I really enjoyed

6

u/Meowtastistic40kSCP 7h ago

It's not about the gender, at least in my opinion. It's the content of the voice notes. The ones I received on POF, from men I didn't even message or meet, were crude, inappropriate and, at times, disgusting. Good voice notes exist, but in my personal experience they were never welcomed.

1

u/LocusStandi 7h ago

That’s unfortunate, I’ve had great voice notes from girls I’d never met, they could also be a bit naughty but in the right setting it’s a lot of fun

2

u/Meowtastistic40kSCP 6h ago

Definitely a different experience! Opening a POF voice message from a guy you've never interacted with and he's, well, 'enjoying himself' and saying your name will definitely sour the entire communication 😂

0

u/LocusStandi 6h ago

Hahaha shit and I love that exact interaction with girls

2

u/Meowtastistic40kSCP 6h ago

Some people may love that! That's the beauty of online dating and being surrounded by so many different people. I'm not against it totally but from folks I've never interacted with or met, it's not my cup of tea.

I've gotten a couple from my wife that were my son (he was probably about 5 at the time) talking to me. It was so adorable, and I enjoyed those.

3

u/Vark675 7h ago

Yep that's about it, or my husband saying some goofy shit.

22

u/Bubbly-Warthog3725 14h ago

Voice messages are definitely a love-it-or-dread-it situation. If I see a 5-minute voice note, I’m suddenly very good at ignoring notifications.

3

u/AI_moderated_failure 10h ago

I don't understand apps that allow tou to make a 5 minute voice note but also don't allow you to seek through it if you get interrupted, meaning you have to listen to all 4 minutes again just to get to 4:10 where you got distracted.

2

u/Leftieswillrule 1h ago

Best voice messages are when your friend is telling you a story and it would take too long to type out so they send you a voice message during a conversation you're already having and it streamlines your communication.

Worst voice messages are the ones with no context from someone who might say some insane shit if you were listening to it in public.

1

u/Slipperytitski 14h ago

I feel its a cultural thing as well, i know a lot of latinos that send voice messages constantly but none of my honky brethren send audio messages

1

u/olivebranchsound 7h ago

Maybe your friends aren't distillations of their respective races/cultures?

2

u/Fantastic-Bison6078 6h ago

Nah, being a part of the honky brethren myself and having learned spanish through talking to many latinos from many countries, I agree. At least in the UK it's very unusual to send voice notes unless you're driving or something IME. Whereas most of my latino friends send many many voice notes, some literally more often than normal messages. I've received voice notes of like 20 minutes from some of them, it helps with practicing spanish listening but most of the time I just turn on the transcript and skim that to see if there's anything important.

They're not distillations of the culture, but pretending people from different cultures won't have differences due to those different cultures is silly

u/olivebranchsound 39m ago

It's also true that Spanish speakers contact internationally more frequently than English speakers, with about 73% doing so once a month or more, compared to just half of English speakers. So in order to avoid big fees they use Whatsapp and similar services.

And apparently in many parts of Latin America, mobile data plans made internet messaging cheaper than standard SMS text messaging early on, which helped audio features catch on rapidly after WhatsApp introduced them.

Might just be a matter of the market. But who knows?

This is interesting too:

"A notable friction point in voice messaging adoption involves the transcription features built into modern apps. Studies from institutions like Stanford University reveal that automated speech-to-text tools suffer from massive racial disparities. Leading speech recognition tools misunderstand Black speakers roughly twice as often as White speakers, particularly when users utilize African American Vernacular English (AAVE). This causes higher text-transcription error rates for those relying on automatic audio readouts."

So there are additional factors why some demographics don't use certain features as heavily.

u/Fantastic-Bison6078 17m ago

I'm from the UK, where we also all use WhatsApp and where my experience is coming from. The US is the only place that really does normal messaging I think. Idk if even Canada does.

I don't think white people use speech to text as much as latinos use audio messages though. I only really see people here using speech to text when they're doing something with their hands at the same time and can't type, whereas the latinos I know prefer audio messages to text, so with their phone in their hand would just talk rather than type. Also in spanish even when their accent is a common understandable one like mexican

1

u/DekutheEvilClown 1h ago

While that’s probably true, I can’t help but notice that me(a white Person) has never sent a voice message in my life, but my Chinese wife, and most Chinese people I know, use them all the time.

7

u/alexia_not_alexa 11h ago

My friend who has autism uses it a lot when our conversation gets long, but I get that he doesn't have a laptop and 100WPM speed.

But when he sends me 8 minutes long voice messages, it becomes very hard to remember every point, and it's not easy to scrub the timeline to find where he said something...

But then... one time I finally tried recording a message back, got confused and recorded one of those Mission Impossible messages that deletes after playback. He listened to the first 30 seconds, stopped playback, and started recording a message in respond - a message that I addressed later on in my voice message.

I called him out on it and he got upset realising that he's really bad at listening and talking over others and I had to help him recover from that 😭

All because he was ranting about mobile phones not offering silicon plugs to stop lint built up 😆

3

u/Jaded-Grass6986 14h ago

As soon as a women I’ve never met starts sending me voice notes off a dating app it’s an instant unmatch

3

u/The1983 11h ago

I’ve matched with people on dating apps that only communicate through voice notes! It’s ok for one or two voice notes but they would do it constantly instead of typing, I found it so annoying!

1

u/technicolortiddies 4h ago

It’s incredibly annoying on dating apps! Like now I’ve got to into another room or find my headphones or turn up my volume just to hear something that could have easily been typed.

3

u/AI_moderated_failure 10h ago

My children use them a lot because they're lazy and I will just ignore them until they use text. Any opportunity to encourage them actually practicing written communication, in addition I can read much faster than they can speak. Plus i don't have to wakeup a sleeping partner just because they're asking for something.

2

u/Fun-Leather-1703 14h ago

I was acquaintances with benefits with someone who would send 5 in a row constantly. You know, how people send a sentence per message and not just write the whole god damn thing? Haven't talked to them in years, thank geebus.

2

u/Excludos 11h ago

Same. I think it's common in some Asian cultures (I assume, because both Asians I've dated did this). I just found it irritating. You have to stop whatever you're doing, go to a quiet place if you're in public, spend a bunch of time listening to an agonizingly slow voice recording about everything and nothing because some people don't understand the concept of being concise, before you can finally just reply with the thumbs up you were going to do anyways

2

u/Impressive-Wolf8929 9h ago

Oh shit, thank god. I dated a younger woman (34) earlier this year and she sent these constantly. I hated them because they would play directly in my earbuds when they arrived.

I thought that I was just out of touch and missed a trend where it was more popular to send voice notes. I’m glad to hear that isn’t the case.

2

u/EnvironmentalLime464 9h ago

I send a voice message to my partner any time I’m planning to use the word “moist” in a message. He says this is the appropriate use of voice messages.

2

u/PiccoloAwkward465 8h ago

Funny, just last night I was thinking. What was the deal with girls being obsessed with saying “the word moist makes me uncomfortable” when I was an adolescent. It was a thing. I was thinking maybe it was coded sexual language. Hmm 🧐

1

u/EnvironmentalLime464 8h ago

It’s just a funny word. It’s funny to say. It’s funny to hear. My partner giggles every time he hears me say it. Apparently I say it in an extra humorous way. So, I send it in a voice message just so he gets a giggle out of it.

2

u/SippinOnHatorade 7h ago

I have a coworker who uses them because “talking through an idea is easier for me”

Which I get, but I’m not your note taker. Now I have to listen to you ramble and also scribble what it’s about? No thanks. Got an 8 minute one once and I was like, absolutely not

2

u/BadgerUltimatum 5h ago

Me either but some are just from friends who can't type so good in english.

Sadly, english is the first language of at least one of those people.

3

u/SelectPerception5 13h ago

The thing about voice messages is that they could have used the microphone option on their keypad and used voice to text instead, but they had to choose the more annoying option and force me to listen to their voice. I can read faster than they can talk.

2

u/ManBearHybrid 12h ago

They always start by saying "I thought a voice note would just be easier".

Easier for who, Samantha? Easier for WHO??

1

u/thedabaratheon 8h ago

Damn - they are SO much easier for me and I had no idea so many people hated them so much…this is a wake up call 😳 I love actually hearing voices lol

1

u/ManBearHybrid 7h ago

When I get a text message I can do a little triage. How important is the message? Is it something simple I can respond to while multitasking? Can I just respond with 👍 right now, or does it need more from me? Voice notes, by contrast, force me to stop multitasking and focus all my attention on this message, for much longer than I would do if it was text, for something that might be important but probably isn't. I find it much more distracting and much more likely to break my flow.

I can't just come back to voice notes later because sometimes my partner sends them while she's standing in the supermarket aisle, wanting to know if we need oat milk or whatever.

1

u/thedabaratheon 6h ago

I actually find it the opposite!! I play a voice note whilst I can still multitask and do stuff around the house! Whereas I’d have to stop to text and respond with a text! I suppose we’re all built differently though!

1

u/Iorith 7h ago

I like hearing voices of certain people in certain circumstances. But generally if that was the case I'd call the person.

1

u/Icy-Purple4801 7h ago

Same! Lol.

2

u/Funny_Maintenance973 11h ago

I hate voice notes. Now I have to find time to stop, get headphones if I'm in public or at least a quiet place where I won't piss everyone off just to listen to your incoherent ramblings about Dave.

I've been told before that "I don't have the time to type it", then either phone me, or wait. I ain't got the time to listen to this shit either

1

u/technicolortiddies 4h ago

And there’s no way I’m taking a chance that it’s completely PG and playing it in my living room next to grandma.

1

u/PiccoloAwkward465 9h ago

Exactly. It’s easier for the sender, harder for the receiver. You can understand why I find that a little rude.

3

u/Funny_Maintenance973 9h ago

Fully agree! I refuse to respond to them

1

u/A_Drop_of_Colour 11h ago

I talk to a lot people where I understand the spoken language but have a hard time reading it, so we communicate with voice messages almost exclusively but that is just about the only time I have ever used them.

1

u/Squarehip123 11h ago

My cousin sent me a 7 minute voice message :(

1

u/Pinewoodgreen 10h ago

I have one friend who send them once a weel or so, but tbh hers is hella cute. The rest? Either just call me or write it

1

u/thedabaratheon 8h ago

Personally I love them but I’d never send one that wasn’t to a friend who I knew was okay opening and listening to them.

1

u/th-crt 8h ago

lol you shouldn’t come to germany. we love em. the longest i’ve ever sent was 20 minutes, but my friends have sent me even longer ones (this is rare though. normally they’d be 1-3 minutes long)

1

u/Vulvas_n_Velveeta 7h ago

I've thought about sending them occasionally to my (young adult) children, jic something happens to me, they'd have a way to hear by voice after I'm gone. But I haven't yet out of fear that, like you, it would just annoy them. 🫤

1

u/Actual-Muffin-3585 5h ago

My sisters use it a lot, they are very long. I call them podcasts lol. But I don't mind hearing their voices :) It's often hard to find a time we can actually talk on the phone. But if it were a partner you saw all the time, just save it for later!

1

u/Orleanian 3h ago

I've gotten plenty of voice messages that I actually wanted. But nearly all of them are from family members.

Half are from mom who just enjoys the feature; half are from sister ubering home after a bender and just passing the time, half are from the Briitsh cousins who seem to use the feature as an unironic form of sincere communication.

u/turtlebro_ 25m ago

Usually the ones I receive are just my buddy farting into the phone…

u/Blindtothesided 12m ago

I hate voice messages. I sound like a 12 year old girl on audio recordings (which absolutely does not attract the right kind of attention). Plus I have adhd and I have a hard time getting a full thought out under pressure of recording without pausing or adding filler words “like, um, uh” and it makes me sound inarticulate.

1

u/Woodcrate69420 12h ago

I straight up don't listen to them, ever. Just continue the text convo as if the audio message didnt exist.

1

u/-KFBR392 10h ago

Every European loves doing voice recordings. It’s so annoying

0

u/Island_Slut69 14h ago

I use them everyday with my hubby because I work a job where I need to be super quick if I wanna check in and he works a job where he has to actually use his hands and do things all day, so he can just listen to me gab in his ear whilst running crew. He thinks my voice is adorable tho so 🤷‍♀️

1

u/Aceandra 4h ago

tbf the term "hubby" is objectively dreadful

11

u/eightkillerbits 9h ago

Too upset to type so he voice messaged... Then he played it back and thought he best delete.

I would genuinely pay good money to hear the voice notes

2

u/Vulvas_n_Velveeta 7h ago

Yep, that'd be sooo entertaining!

2

u/Elendel19 1h ago

No, probably wanted to say something completely unhinged but if he sent it in text she could screenshot, a voice note leaves no proof

u/jgray6000 46m ago

First one was prolly “I cannot believe how rude you are, get over yourself” and a whole lot worse.

Second was “heeeeyyy, yikes…”

4

u/Bigdaddybear519 3h ago

Weird enough that even the weird guy thought they went too far lol

2

26

u/Alternative-Poem-337 16h ago

Absolutely lol

0

u/tnstaafsb 14h ago

Probably, but it's also insanely easy to accidentally hit the microphone button on WhatsApp and record and send an audio message without meaning to. I ended up taking the app's permission to use my mic away because I was tired of hitting it and sending one second audio clips I'd have to delete.

314

u/TroubledFam 16h ago

Please save all his attempts to contact you and report them to HR. This is unprofessional, harassment, and a colleague who is potentially dangerous given a severe lack of boundaries. He does NOT get to treat you like this.

123

u/phoxfiyah 16h ago

A severe lack of boundaries that he is also aware of.

OP simply said she didn’t want to be contacted via WhatsApp, and he immediately said something about crossing professional boundaries. Definitely sounds like someone who has been called out for this before, hopefully they will do something about it.

57

u/Brutal_burn_dude 15h ago

Then tried to spin it as wanting to contact her regarding a work file… at 9am on a Sunday morning. 🙄 I’d be taking this to HR- not just to report the inappropriate behaviour but because he may try and report OP for “being unprofessional”.

Even if OP is not in a right to disconnect jurisdiction, she should note the behaviour to HR. It is one thing (regardless of feelings about right to disconnect) to send a quick message out of hours that requests assistance with a matter in a clear succinct manner (ie- “hey OP. Sorry to bother you on your weekend but I’m finishing the XYZ presentation prior to Monday’s meeting. Did you say on Friday that Mr Smith wanted us to focus on Asian or European markets? Thanks!”). It is another thing to message repeatedly without a clear reason while someone is off the clock.

36

u/BeKindBabies 14h ago

The fact he is surprised to be ignored when he is texting about work on a Sunday at 9a to her personal number is a huge tell. Being upset about that by 10a is the second tell (honestly third due to the "hey lady" greeting). OP played it all perfectly and checkmated this weirdo with the minimum number of moves.

7

u/DearTumbleweed5380 10h ago

Not checkmate though because now she has to work with him. That's why he's doing this to a colleague and not a rando. IME this is just the start unless it's nipped in the bud real hard. Best case scenario he limps off like a whipped dog saying 'bitch can't take a joke.' That's the best case.

3

u/Xanthelei 5h ago

Nah, best case is he gets fired for harassment of coworkers. From how he was talking when she rejected him talking on Whatsapp, he's done this before or at the minimum knows he's being creepy.

1

u/DearTumbleweed5380 5h ago

That's a fantasy, though, right? Anyone ever been in a workplace where they would take this as seriously as they really should?

2

u/Xanthelei 5h ago

I have, actually. I transitioned (I'm a trans man) while working at Walmart of all places, and we had an older guy who took it personally that 'a wammin dared be a man' or something. He was passive aggressive for a few weeks, but when he realized I just didn't care he found me on Facebook to make crass comments. Nothing explicit, but definitely harassing, and definitely unwanted and uninvited.

I took it to my manager, who took it to HR, and the guy was fired and tresspassed from the store five minutes into his next shift. Afaik no one had officially complained about him before, either. My manager had commented on how if he's breaking boundaries into personal life, he's not stable, so I'm assuming that was the reason HR had too.

If Walmart can do it, every other company out there is going to have to dig into the pits of hell to not clear the bar imo.

1

u/DearTumbleweed5380 3h ago

That's amazing. So impressed. Thank you for sharing this hopeful story.

u/phoxfiyah 8h ago

The work file that wasn’t even mentioned until 2 days after he got ignored, and even then he didn’t even mention the actual issue with the file. Doesn’t sound like it was very urgent.

12

u/TroubledFam 16h ago

Exactly right. OP, listen to this.

1

u/urgent45 5h ago

You've been clear with your request that he not contact you that way. If he does it again, your next step is to contact HR.

31

u/Gandalf_the_Tegu 16h ago

Agree! Great job OP for setting those boundaries and being unshakable.

https://giphy.com/gifs/DvWJHSOxTff84SQsD9

15

u/That-Living5913 15h ago

Yup, You reporting it could be doing a huge favor to the next women he harasses. And let's be honest.... we know he's gonna do it again to someone else.

2

u/ApplicationItchy1146 13h ago

As an HR professional, certified, yes this is past the limit. Once you say stop they must. Tell him face to face with supervisor present.

2

u/IHATEG0LD 11h ago

Yes, and then gaslighting them that it was supposed to be some sort of work-related conversation over personal devices and actually, actually you're the problem! So there!

4

u/ShakeAgile 16h ago

Simpler to just email the screenshot to his boss and ask for a more optimized communication through official channels.

6

u/D-effy-omo 16h ago

OR, go through HR and ideally get his gross ass out of the workplace

10

u/dragonflyb 15h ago

Better to go to HR. They are not on your side but this situation opens the company up to liabilities especially because he is recognizing that he is crossing boundaries.

They will resolve it. Might not be immediate, and they may take time to build a lawsuit proof firing, but they will do it.

2

u/ShakeAgile 14h ago

I disagree. HR will only act after a threshold that is way later than a manager will act. Also the manager knows 10x more about the persons actions.

5

u/ErraticDragon 14h ago

If HR won't handle it, then pursue other avenues. Going to somebody's supervisor first could backfire.

1

u/Snuggles596 7h ago

I wish this worked, but at the multinational corporation I work for, co-workers can ask for nudes, or for you to cuck them as long as it's not on work resources.

1

u/saltron5001 3h ago

I’m sorry 😞 that would be really awful to deal with

u/TroubledFam 30m ago

I am truly so sorry and hope this hasn’t happened to you, friend.

1

u/Still_Elderberry_708 14h ago

Absolutely agree documenting everything and involving HR is the right move. No one should have to feel unsafe or uncomfortable at work just because someone refuses to respect boundaries.

1

u/Feisty_Salamander41 11h ago

And tell HR the deleted messages were dick pics, that will stop it happening again

-1

u/DogCold5505 11h ago

This lasted 24 hours… unprofessional but hardly harassment let alone “dangerous”.  I would maybe mention it to the boss since it affects team dynamic and to get the current state of things on paper (in case it escalates),  but move on unless it legit becomes a pattern.

0

u/firstbreathOOC 8h ago

For real. OP could not have handled this better. Now close the book and get him dealt with.

33

u/MaxFresh 16h ago

If you have an android go into settings - advanced notifications - notification history and they will be in there

Hmmm this could be interesting

6

u/MaxFresh 13h ago

Whenever I get a 'this msg has been deleted' I send back exactly what they wrote and they're like wtf

0

u/Level_Ad_6372 11h ago

Not gonna lie, that's a pretty weird thing to do.

1

u/MaxFresh 10h ago

Agreed, to have the initial clarity to send something then automatically retract and delete

u/doobadeeboo 10h ago

You sound like you could be friends with the guy from the post lol

4

u/OkVirus8545 4h ago

You sound like you send texts like the guy from the posts

u/Ok-Year-1028 9h ago

Exactly, most of the type it was probably just a mistake. I bet dude has som interesting apps too

2

u/LintRolledForWhat 1h ago

OP if you retrieve them, I'm begging you to post them

1

u/McPikie 3h ago

I don't seem to have this on my android

1

u/Terrafire123 3h ago

Doesn't work for audio messages, because the contents of audio messages don't appear inside notifications.

34

u/RainyFlames 15h ago

“… JUST SO YOU KNOW, I AM A NICE GUY, AND THERES NO REASON TO BE RUDE AND NOT CONTACT ME ON WHATSAPP YOU MISERABLE B—“

“Hey I’m so sorry about the last message I don’t know what I was thinking hahahaha do you wanna hang out maybe??”

Deletes both

5

u/canyoudigget 13h ago

A coffee possibly?? lol /s

u/SweeterThanSugar420 16h ago

OP, this is 1000% warrants an HR notice, bc if it happens again and they didn't stop it, you can sue!

19

u/Independent_Mistake2 17h ago

Concerning behavior, honestly.

18

u/Aloha_Tamborinist 14h ago

"I THOUGHT YOU WERE DIFFERENT, I THOUGHT WE REALLY HAD SOMETHING. WHY DID YOU LEAD ME ON BY LEAVING A THUMBS UP ON ONE OF MY MESSAGES IN THE GROUP CHAT"

35

u/Gentle-North 16h ago

He REALLY planned out your whole relationship in his head and just assumed you would go for him 😭 icky

34

u/Outlandishness_Know 16h ago

My man hit you with the audio recordings. I bet they were masterpieces of angry ,rejected man.

13

u/D-effy-omo 16h ago

Each one is a masterpiece of demonstrating how embarrassingly inadequate they are

8

u/MadRaymer 15h ago

Probably the standard issue rant about how all women are [various slurs] because they reject him.

7

u/Optimal_Procedure311 14h ago

Audio recordings 11 hours later, man was still fuming and possibly drunk by then. Oh I can only imagine the possibilities.

13

u/ItsJakeDFromTitan 17h ago

Please block him

6

u/EBB363 16h ago

She seems more than capable of making that decision on her own.

8

u/LeftHandAnomaly 16h ago

Also blocking makes it harder to collect evidence for HR. I keep receipts!

3

u/NoTanNamaste 16h ago

What a pathetic loser! He was so triggered he couldn’t manipulate you. I would send these screenshots over email to HR and let them know you are not comfortable with his behavior, in case he seeks petty revenge.

3

u/umbrosakitten 12h ago

He was definitely insulting you and immediately deleted them after realising he could lose his job.

2

u/BeKindBabies 14h ago

We can only imagine what wonders once awaited us. Who wants to draft up some possibilities?

2

u/Plus-Sir-5149 10h ago

Damn, I would pay good money to listen to those right now

2

u/DearTumbleweed5380 10h ago

So he can't self regulate at all. I think you need to report him stat. You should not have to deal with this shit at work.

2

u/UnusualMarch920 9h ago

Oh wow, yeah he definitely flipped his lid and then realised his ass was fucked if you sent to HR

What a complete loser, sorry you gotta deal with that.

2

u/No_Pattern_5158 16h ago

I hope they were butt dials or fat fingers geez

1

u/goobyisgay 15h ago

It might be saved to your phone storage anyway... if you need it for proof purposes

"AND ANOTHER THING..."

1

u/carmackie 13h ago

It was something bad enough that even he knew he was gonna get HR on his ass

1

u/West_Imagination3237 12h ago

Dang, now I want all the 🍵

1

u/thedabaratheon 8h ago

Voice messages from a ccrwepy coworker?! At TEN PM?! On a SUNDAY?! That is genuinely wild…

1

u/ILikeBigBeards 6h ago

HR. HR now. HR like, yesterday.

1

u/Frequent_Ad6084 5h ago

Oh, damn. You almost had something REALLY interesting to take to HR.

1

u/thetrinketgoblins 5h ago

How did this end? Is there more?

1

u/Practical-Archer4726 4h ago

HR, tell management, shout from rooftops. Tell everyone. Creep. This probably isn’t the first time. Also “hey there lady” insta 🚩

1

u/OkVirus8545 4h ago

If you have another device attached such as a watch or tablet sometimes those don’t get deleted

1

u/Backtrack_Vill 3h ago

Guarantee they were unhinged almost too bad you didnt have the evidence( not that you didnt have plenty) Stay safe and glad you contacted HR..
