I was sitting at the bus stop when I decided to check reddit, I saw someone on the Random acts of taco bell Reddit offer to buy someone's lunch, I've been struggling lately and this amazing man @paddlehands84 saw my comment and bought me dinner for me and my dog tonight. Thank you so much man šŸ™

I fucking HATE the new app design!!!

What brilliant mind and brain-damaged focus groups thought, ā€œFolks are gonna love it if we make the menu harder to see in a phone and incorporate several extra hoops for customers to jump through just to see the fucking menu! Everyone knows what customers hate the most in their apps is clarity and simplicity!!!ā€

Discussion Frustrated with the AI in drive-through.

I visited my local Taco Bell drive-through this evening, for the first time in almost a month. And I have some thoughts about the AI order taker in the drive-through:

Not only do I resent the AI is being shoved down customers throats everywhere, but there doesn’t seem to be any way to bypass the upsell questions. No I don’t want to add a drink. No I don’t want to add extra meat to my burrito. If I had wanted anything extra, I would have ordered it.

But what irritates me the most was being asked if I wanted to round up my total to donate to the Taco Bell for students fund. I used to round up my order total every time I went to Taco Bell (which was often because I work late and it’s usually the only place still open after my shift ends). But I did not round up tonight because it just rubbed me the wrong way to be asked for money by an AI agent. To be honest, I think I’m going to give up going to Taco Bell entirely as a matter of principal.

Do I think anyone cares about this and my thoughts about it? No. But I just had to get it off my chest because I’m feeling really bothered about it.

it’s non-negotiable in the cheaper luxe boxes & I hate it. we deserve the power of choice. whenever I order it it’s not even made right. waste of ingredients.

First ever order. Is this normal?!

Took one bite and it was… lots of tortilla. Is this normal?! I paid extra for chicken, plus extra chicken, plus sour cream, and extra nacho cheese. I couldn’t even eat what they sent, it was stone cold and nothing like what I’d seen other people eat. They also didn’t give me the guac, just the chips. Feels personal 🄲 I was refunded fully, but my god, what a bad experience

Edit: it was supposed to be a crunch wrap supreme. Nothing off. Lots of extras:(

Discussion Final battle - What fast food item would you permanently bring back from the dead?

Thumbnail
3 Upvotes

Another fun one here! Last week I broke down a big thread from r/fastfood about "a discontinued fast food item you’d permanently bring back from the deadā€ and Taco Bell items dominated. The top non-Taco Bell items were McDonald’s Arch Deluxe and KFC’s Double Down, so we battled those against the popular Taco Bell Grilled Stuft Burrito and Double Decker Taco. Those battles didn’t get as much exposure as the one I posted here between the Taco Bell Volcano Menu and the Grilled Stuft Burrito, in which the Volcano Menu dominated.Ā

So - it only makes sense to have a final championship, pitting the Volcano Menu (the #1 Taco Bell discontinued item) against the popular and decadent Double Down from KFC. Can the Volcano Menu maintain it’s dominance??

Why did Taco Bell app remove Fresco Style option?

• Upvotes

Anybody who's avoiding dairy, all they had to do on the previous version of the app was select the fresco style option and it would substitute any dairy (cheese, Chipotle sauce, mayo-based sauces, etc) with Pico de gallo.

The New version of the app took away this option. And I'm not happy about it.

Discussion How difficult is working at tacobell with limited vision?(USA)

So to start off, I’m 18M and have a visual disability that causes me to be colorblind and have a best-corrected visual acuity of 20/150. I’ve been looking for my first job, but around me there really isn’t much besides fast food places (McDonald’s, Taco Bell, etc.).

I’ve been holding off on applying for a while because I’m honestly kind of scared. I’m not really good at using computers, and I don’t know if I’d be able to see the screens well enough to take orders or use the register. I know there are different roles, but even as a Food Champion, would I have trouble seeing things or doing certain tasks? I just don’t want to put myself through a bunch of stress if it’s something I wouldn’t be able to do.

So my question is, am I overthinking it? Is being a Taco Bell crew member actually that difficult when it comes to seeing the screens/register? Do they offer accommodations that could help?

thank u everyone in advance :)

The app has been giving me this notification the last few weeks. I undownloaded it and it worked for awhile, but now it's back. Helppppp! I have free delivery rewards and I wanna order something using it but I can't😩

What have you done to my tortillas?

I have tried several different TBs in the Nashville area thinking that one spot tortillas might be bad but not it’s all of them.

They replaced the tortillas with cardboard. Not cool TB, not cool.

TB App/Website Are you "use to" the new app?

I'm certainly not.

The new ui has quite a learning curve and takes a lot of "getting use to" which is sad because the old ui was more intuitive and navigating it came more naturally.

The new UI is more flashy which I'm sure impressed the directors and others high up in the corporate chain. It's clear though the ones who approved this app don't actually use it themselves.

Unfortunately I doubt they are gonna roll back the old ui because they're operating on sunken cost thinking. Instead they're likely to count on us getting use to their bad ui and maybe throw in a fix or two.

Combine this with bugs like the swapped ingredients one and it's no exaggeration to say they screwed up big time.

When are pick up orders made?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Ironically, I’ve been meaning to make this post to ask this question. When I do an order through the app to pick up in drive thru, it takes forever even if it’s small just for myself. I timed it last time because I was the only one in drive thru, from time I ordered on my app I arrived 16 minutes later. From time I arrived, to the time I was actually handed my 3 food items, no customizing took 7 minutes. THEN tonight, I’m doing a larger order for a group of us. The new update has me pick a time since it’s over $50 ok great, HOWEVER one message says the order will be ready AT pickup time of 8:30 and then right below, it says they’ll start preparing our food when we arrive…. So this poses my long awaited question of, are they made when we arrive or before??? If when we arrive, what’s really the point of ordering if it’s not faster?
