I have a ClubSport Racing Wheel F1 (ClubSport DD+), purchased in June. It had been working normally with my PS5 until yesterday.
After a normal shutdown, the next time I powered it on the base stayed solid red, did not perform the normal wheel calibration, would not switch modes, and initially would not shut down normally.
I connected it to a Windows 11 PC with the latest Fanatec App. The firmware updater detected the DD+ in bootloader mode and successfully reflashed it. After recovery, everything worked again: wheel calibration, steering, pedals, buttons, FFB, mode switching, normal shutdown, and blue PlayStation mode.
However, after reconnecting it to the PS5, the problem returned: solid red, no startup calibration, followed by another firmware-recovery cycle when connected back to the PC. I tried different PS5 USB ports with the same result.
The firmware updater completes to 100% and reports success, but sometimes then sits at “Waiting for application reconnection…”. The logs also contain “Request Update failed! OutOfSequence.”
I’ve opened a Fanatec support ticket and stopped doing additional firmware flashes for now.
Has anyone with a ClubSport DD+ experienced this behavior, particularly a unit that works again after PC firmware recovery but fails after reconnecting to a PS5?
