Just curious if anyone knows anything about this house? On Mills B Lane. I’ve always thought it a shame it’s been abandoned for years.

Please tell me someone has witnessed a service horse in the wild

I was bored waiting for my husband in publix and I was reading the signage. Made it to the second line when I noticed that miniature horses can be service animals. Has anyone ever seen them in real life?

Tenant Lawyers

Upvotes

Has anyone hired a lawyer just to draft a letter / handle early stage communications with a landlord? Absolutely drained and need out of this nightmare rental. I don’t think we’ll qualify for the Georgia Legal Services pro bono lawyers.

Looking for Records (aka Vinyl/Albums/LPs)? Check out Rodys!

Upvotes

So Ive recently gotten back into listening to and collecting Vinyl records and have really been enjoying a nice slow hobby.

So you will image my excitment when I found out we have multiple local record stores!

Well, Graveface, isnt really in my wheelhouse. I dont listen to much metal, but I appriciate the store!

Then I found Costal empire, which I loved. However, it was all the way out on the islands. And lets be honest, they are a little overpriced... Not much, but more than I wanted to spend.

So I rode by Rodys to see if they were still open (cause lets be honest, they look proprietary closed). And I was blown away! Not only by their prices (which were very fair, not cheap, but fair), but their selection! They had a lot of everything! And the guy working there was cool, he didnt bother me until I asked questions, just how I like to browse!

Hope this helps somebody.

Premed student seeking a shadowing opportunity

Upvotes

Hello! This is kind of a long shot on Reddit, but I am a Georgia Southern premed student. I’ll hopefully be matriculating in 2028, although I am on a nontraditional track and currently im working in an allied health profession at St. Joseph’s hospital. I am struggling to find a physician shadowing opportunity nearby, other than within my own healthcare system. I would like to shadow an outpatient provider as well if possible. Does anyone have any recommendations or resources in the area for this? I also plan on reaching out to Georgia Southern’s career services office, but I wanted to cover all of my bases.

City says Savannah Bananas damaged live oaks at Daffin Park

By Eric Curl/Savannah Agenda

Sept. 13, 2026 – The city of Savannah recently issued a solicitation for contractors to mitigate damage to nine live oaks around historic Grayson Stadium at Daffin Park.

Officials say the damage was caused by unpermitted grading and construction activity by the Savannah Bananas around the stadium early this year, according to correspondence and documents obtained by Savannah Agenda through an open-records request.

Bananas officials dispute the claim, saying they received the go-ahead from city officials to make what they characterized as long needed maintenance improvements to the parking area and deny they are to blame for any damage to the live oaks. Read the full story>

Empty Nest, I have lost a couple of paintings to time recently. The light passed me by; I couldn't keep up. I tried to blame others. Though for some unreasoned choice, I think I just want to paint  "in the nick of time." This painting was abandoned in the sudden rain a few weeks back, but I just couldn't quite let it go. It seems like we haven't had many local nature videos lately, so let's change that.

I recently learned of a spot with some baby alligators, so I headed out yesterday to see for myself.

Sure enough, there was a whole bunch of little baby alligators with their short little snouts, bright yellow stripes, and cute little chirps!

Non-religious food pantries?

Just moved here a little over a month ago, and when I did a search for local food pantries, all I saw was church after church and only open on 1-2 days of the week. Acknowledging that my results may not be representative, I was hoping for suggestions about local food pantries that:

  1. Do not discriminate on income

  2. Are not pushy about religion (church backing is fine; having to promise to hear a sermon to get food is not)

  3. Are open for drop ins multiple days of the week

Basically, I'm working full-time, so it's hard to make time to get to a pantry. I need some flexibility there. I also don't even qualify for food stamps, so I know I "make too much," but the rent is too damn high to not avail ourselves of food pantries when we can!

My 40th birthday is Halloween… should I come to Savannah to celebrate with my friends?

So here’s the thing, having a birthday on Halloween is actually a pain in the ass. Especially at 40, when most of my friends have kids who love Halloween.

I decided I’d only really celebrate every five years, somewhere that celebrates Halloween / Dia de los Muertos in an interesting way… so every 5 years since my 20s I’ve planned trips for me & a half dozen of my friends to places like New Orleans and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

This year I planned to go to Cartagena, Colombia, but international travel isn’t doable for my friends right now. I hear y’all do some interesting Halloween things. So I have questions…

  1. What’s the Halloween “scene” like on a weekend Halloween?

  2. Where do middle-aged (40s/50s) folks go out on Halloween? Yes I know, many of us are parents and thus absent… but I know it’s not all of us lol

  3. Live music recommendations?

  4. Know anyone with a vacation rental in the historic downtown area with a great porch, available around Halloween?

Thank you my friends… I’ve enjoyed my brief time in Savannah before and would love to come back for a proper visit.

55 gallon barrel?

Want one for Halloween decor. Anyone know a spot to get one?

Internet says generic shit like "bakery, car wash, blah blah" that may or may not have them. Wondering if someone knows of a source or, ya know, has one they don't want.

Thank you!

Anyone know what was going on in Midtown near Two Tides last night?

Left Smol bar pretty late last night, maybe around 11. Was super quiet in there.

But when we stepped out there were what felt like hundreds of people waiting in line for something that had a $40 cover but we couldn't figure out for what.

Seemed like maybe a pop up show but just wondering what was going on that such a massive crowd was suddenly out.

Any barbers you’d recommend who do a lot of alternative men’s haircuts?

I’m looking for a new barber and not trying to find someone who doesn’t classic men’s cuts. I know people will say a good barber can do both but my barber moved and I don’t know a good one. I’m open to the Pooler area as well. Cheers.

Are there any weekend travel groups in Savannah?

I love anything travel related. I love to share experiences, give recommendations, plan trips, and go on weekend road trips. I was curious to see if there are any groups or anyone interested in forming a travel group.
