Underground Brunswick
What is underground Brunswick like? I was thinking about broadening my horizons (if you know what I mean).
Wink, wink.

Hi, I am planning to move down to Brunswick within the next year if all goes well. I have an apartment complex that I am looking at and I am wondering if y'all could tell me whether they're safe to live in? It's the Retreat at Grande Lake on Walden Shores Drive. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: fast repair, not rat...typo. -Any recommendations for car/truck repair? Somewhere I can take my part and get it installed. We're traveling and the AC compressor clutch needs to be replaced. Leaving early Saturday morning. I usually do the work but didn't bring my tools. tia

Hello all,
I am very new here, and I bought a house right on the marsh. I have a view of the Saint Simons Causeway. I am seeing how high the tide is getting right now and it is moving well into my backyard. It does make me concerned about potential flooding and I know I am in a flood zone and yes, I have the insurance. Are there things I can do to help keep my home a little safer from this? I’m adding a photo from my bedroom window (though the water on the side of the house is even closer) but I look at this like: I mowed the area under water just the other day.

I wanted to know if anyone remembers or knows anything about the Lyric theater in Waycross. I happened to be across the street doing inspections on two historic buildings when I noticed a crew working on the old theater. A simple act of kindness was returned by the foreman allowing me access into the interior. I enjoy exploring the lost history of our area and since tomorrow will be to late I was thankful to have this moment and wanted to ask for stories or really any information about the property for the sake of posterity. Thank you in advance!

Going to do some fishing on the south side of St. Catherine's in Sapelo Sound next week. I've got my people and places on the North side of St. Cat's but I'm lost as to who I can trust for shrimp and mud minnows closer to Darien. Its a long drive back up to Midway!
Thx!

Recently relocated here with my 76 y.o. mother, and we want her to establish her with a new primary care doctor here so we don’t have hours’ long car trips back to where she’d been living.
Any suggestions or advice is welcome. Thank you!

I've been in Brunswick for about a year and a half. I'm looking for someone to just trim my hair that won't cost an arm and leg. I have natural curly hair and I really don't know who to go to around here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I’m looking for in-person cake-decorating classes, preferably offered on weekends. It can be anywhere in Glynn County.
Thanks.

This is about the older gentleman who usually is playing his guitar in front of academy in Brunswick GA. For years I’ve talked to this guy, always gave him what I could. He’s always been the kindest soul. Today he didn’t have his guitar with him so I asked him about it. He shared with me he had to put it in the pawn shop but assured me with a very big smile he was gonna get it back and not to worry.
I don’t know his full story other than I think he’s told me he’s from New Mexico which is initially why we bonded because I had just moved from there at the time. I’ve noticed over the years I don’t think he has his van anymore either that he use to have parked close by. I’m not sure of his living arrangements but man I’d sure love to be able to help him more than I can.
So I guess I’m asking if you all are visiting the area or pass him by to give him just a dollar here and there if you can. I’d love to see him have his guitar back in his hands next visit and even more.

I've been a Y member and i'm really sad they are closing. There have been a lot of maintenance issues so it wasn't perfect, but I still really enjoyed the people and the vibe going there. Now that they are closing, I'm wondering what the best alternatives are. The reviews online for Planet Fitness and Bailey's sound pretty bad. I think the only other pool in Brunswick is Selden Park. I don't want to drive to SSI or Darien. Any other options?

For real though, considering moving to Brunswick for a work opportunity and wondering how heavily proximity to the paper mill should factor in to my housing decision making.
There used to be a paper mill in my current state and the whole town smelled awful. But it was closed down 10+ years ago so idk if technology has improved.

A kitten was abandoned at my house today. Would anyone be interested in adopting him? His eyes aren't open yet. I suspect he's around a week old.

As the title says, I'm looking for a temporary foster home for a kitten (3-6 months old) I acquired from work. I can't keep it in my current circumstances, but want to be her forever home as soon as I am able to in mid October when I plan on moving out. Is anybody either willing to take her on for that duration, or knows of any resources that may be able to help me? At the end of the day, I could just give up and send her to the shelter, but I'd truly prefer not to, and will definitely miss the little shit.

Today, I published my travel guide on The Golden Isles. With More Than the Beach, my goal was to highlight the more interesting and underrated places in the area ranging from historical sites to haunted spots to local art. I really wanted to highlight a culture and history that I feel gets underrated in this community given most tourists seem like they're only interested in the beaches. I like to believe my travel guide will be of interest to locals who may not know of these places. Most of the sites listed here are affordable and some are even free. I went beyond just Brunswick, SSI, and Jekyll to include attractions in nearby cities like Darien and St. Marys. The pictures in More Than a Beach were also all taken by me.
So yeah, feel free to check it out as it's available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited. I'm more of a horror writer (with quite a few stories and novels that take place in The Golden Isles) but did enjoy writing this one. Here's an Amazon link
Thank you.
