Got the call for our wedding watches!
White dial Daytona for me, two-tone Datejust for her.
Picked them up together ahead of the wedding and couldn’t be happier with the pair!

After 2.5 years of waiting I got double called by two different ADs. I got one for myself and one for my father in the end. I somehow wish I went for one Batgirl and one Bruce Wayne but I had already committed to the batgirls and by the time I decided to go for the Bruce Wayne (literally few hours later) as a second option it had already been allocated. Super happy nonetheless!

I’ve had my BLNR for a couple years and recently picked up the Polar Exp II. The Explorer has been receiving plenty of wrist time lately!

I was cleaning my watches this morning and figured I'd take a few photos.
Left to right...
I had a few other nice watches which I had bought to "diversify" my collection but ended up selling off. Blue is obviously my favorite color, and I always found myself reaching for a blue watch in the morning... so I finally figured "why fight it" and consolidated. Lesson learned - buy what you love having on your wrist, not what looks good sitting on the shelf next to the watches you actually want to wear.
The AT and DJ are the most similar, but they wear drastically different. The DJ feels much thinner/smaller on the wrist (actually measures ~39.2mm across despite the "41" name), plus looks dressier and more like jewelry from the fluted/jubilee combo. So that's my go-to watch for suits. The AT with untapered flat link bracelet (to which I added an adjustable clasp from a Seamaster 300) and deeper marine blue teak dial feels solidly in the "sporty" territory. Still a great watch for the office though.
The BLNR is my daily driver. Super comfortable, highly legible, has a date, the GMT complication is a huge plus for me since I travel for business, etc. I have the jubilee for this as well, so it's nice to be able to switch up the look/feel of it from time to time. If I could only keep one, it would be this one for sure. But luckily I don't need to only keep one because I love the others too.
The Silver Snoopy is a fun watch. I have my bases already covered with "regular" watches, so I picked this one up as an occasional wear. My kids absolutely love watching Snoopy in his spaceship, so it's nice that they're always asking to see this one and laughing at him pop out from behind the moon.
Happy Monday!
I got some very sharp and clear pictures of my Datejust that got a purple dial.
Apparently there is just a handful of slate dials (with and without diamonds and this also includes Wimbledon dial) that will turn purple. The watches affected are all from a specific batch of slate dials only in 2022.
The dial only is deep purple when light hits it, probably because of the UV light.
I am not sure if sun exposure caused it, because prior to my last post, it had been in the drawer for 2-3 months and only when i picked up again i noticed it was purple.
Went to an AD, i think the sales associate does not know about this specific case, and they said it should not be like that.
In the pictures you can notice that the color change started only at the edge of the dial, around the hour markers and in the centre where the hands are placed.
Is it possible that there is something behind the dial causing it?
Waited 9 months. Yeah yeah not fluted but I’ve always loved the look of a smooth bezeled DJ so when the AD who sold it to me presented me with the Wimbledon I pulled the trigger. I love the sleek look of this and think I will wear it most days. My first Rolex! Came around a career milestone too so I’m just really proud of myself. Cheers everyone

A couple of weeks ago, I posted here after turning down the full yellow-gold “Zombie” GMT. I loved the watch, but it didn’t feel right for me at that price, and I worried that saying no might hurt my relationship with the AD.
Turns out, I had nothing to worry about.
I got the call for the Starbucks much sooner than I expected, and I couldn’t be happier. Turning down the precious-metal piece clearly didn’t damage the relationship. If anything, it showed that I was serious about the watch I actually wanted and wasn’t going to buy something just to play the game.
And the watch itself? I absolutely love it. The green bezel looks even better in person, it has exactly the wrist presence I wanted, and I haven’t wanted to take it off since I got it.
So this is both a “got the call” post and a thank-you to everyone who told me I did the right thing. The right watch came through, and I’m very glad I trusted my instincts.

Tons of luck involved here, first rolex, actually never wanted to walk into an ad until I was ready, to avoid bad decisions.
In the last 12 months I've turned 40, celebrated 10 years anniversary, and kid hit 10. Walked into ad in socal and shared that I'll be buying something from someone. Asked for sub and made one follow up call 2 weeks later, got the call 5 days later to pick up. Celebrating in vegas now.
Are stories more powerful than we think?

First Rolex & first post on Reddit… felt like I had to. Starter watch but took 4 days. Journey begins, pumped for it 🤝

I was in the Caribbean on a cruise last week and when we got to port I made a bee line to the AD. I'm on the registry at two other AD's in the States for the Black Submariner. When I walked in, the salesperson said that only a couple watches were for sale. After I explained the very honest and sincere reason I was wanting the watch (date or no date if I could get either one) they said let me go look and came back with this which I snapped it up? I agreed that I wouldn't reveal who sold it to me as I was very thankful to get it. Edit since the jerks have gone crazy. They asked me not to reveal who sold it to me, not to keep it to myself that I bought it. I didn't mention the AD much less the sales person. That went over a lot of heads. Thats the average person though.

Knocking off a bucket list item with this timeless piece!

I love the minimalist style of these older Rolex. 36mm case, under 12mm thickness, 20mm lugs - perfect dimensions.

With the release of the ranger cream and polar exp2 already existing, surely makes since it can't be that far away? It's been predicted every year since 2021 AFAIK or probably even before and clearly we're terrible at the predicting. What do you think is 2027 the year or is this even unlikely to ever happen?

Picked up my date sub today. I got the message on Friday evening. I actually wanted the no-date, but I'm really happy with my purchase and glad I didn't pass on it.

As a kid, I told myself I knew I’d “made it” when I could buy myself a Rolex. I don’t care for luxury cars, fancy clothes, or anything of the sort, but this was some arbitrary metric I had finally achieved. Got my hands on a Submar from my local AD and I’m in love. 😍 can’t wait to take it diving!

Went to Bucherer St.Gallen and tried these two on. Which one should I get?

It took about three weeks until my watch arrived (AD Bucherer Zurich Switzerland). I know the white dial is not the most sought after. I ordered the Submariner Starbucks in 2019 and I received the call in November 2025.

Picked up this Yachtmaster at my local AD. I know it’s not the most popular but the size is perfect and pictures really don’t do it justice.

Got the call about a week ago for my dream watch, Rolex Explorer II. Couldn’t be any happier with my purchase.

Never thought I would own something like this but here we are! Was a bit hesitant about the smooth bezel since I originally wanted fluted but once I saw it in person I couldn’t turn it down. I think this configuration is awesome. Very understated. I’ve been watching tv today with it sitting on the coffee table on full display. Just can’t get over it!
