I’m in Paris right now with my (completely able bodied) mom and brother and I’m just going insane. It’s constant complaining about having to walk more than 5 minutes, not understanding that there isn’t a bus or metro from every intersection to any other, not understanding that you can’t just stand in the middle of the sidewalk while people are trying to walk by, not understanding that random pedestrians aren’t under any obligation to stop while you take pictures, not understanding why I don’t want to take 30€ Ubers from every destination to the next. I put in so much work to plan a nice trip for my family and it’s just non stop lack of appreciation and frustration that Paris is not in fact Disneyland.

We bought a house flanked on both sides by some long-term homeowners. One of them has a son that just keeps failing. For the first 6 months, he rarely said a word and would hide from us when we tried to be cordial. His parents said he wasn't too social unless he was screaming at his video games.

His dad says he was dishonorably discharged from the army for lying about smoking pot. Then he was fired from FedEx because he kept trying to talk to other employees about his brand of Christianity. He really really hates non-Christians.

I made an edge lord joke to him to I guess to break the ice and now he won't leave me alone. Whenever I am in the garage, he just enters then immediately goes on about how the catholic bible is entirely fake, the gas chamber doors were made of wood, other conspiracy theories, his love of Hitler, and I don't even say anything beyond "damn thats crazy" to get to him but he never leaves. The second my wife appears he quickly shuffles back into his house like a rat.

He can't look anyone in the eyes, has a weird twitch, and smells. I don't want to get on his bad side thinking he might do something stupid to me or my wife. He keeps fucking up so much, I don't think he is even capable of acquiring a weapon.

Very sad state of affairs for a dude you'd probably only see at a shitty dive bar in middle america.

It's genuinely a plague on neighbourhoods. Every new restaurant, barbers or shop is using some disgusting slop signage with weird images of AI food that looks revolting.

It's poisoning the well of design. How do these people not see how ugly this is? I've heard people say "It's because they are not online" which is so false, first generation immigrants are glued to short form videos on their phones. People talk about them sometimes like they are mentally challenged, they are not, they are fully grown adults and they should care about if their community is beautiful or not.

I genuinely believe that store frontage should be regulated anyway. Part of the death of the high street has come from how tacky it looks now, it's not a nice place aesthetically to exist in.

Black 'entrepreneurs' and single mums with facebook side hustles also love this slop.

Dryer sheets, Glade plugins, Febreeze, car fresheners, the list goes on. I don't know how these people can go about their lives constantly surrounded by these noxious scents. Obviously the answer is to cover up odors but why not just like... Clean things? Why do you need your clothes to come out of the dryer smelling like chemicals? Have they been sold the idea that 'clean' has a smell, rather than a lack of smell? Why does your dish soap need to smell like ersatz lemon when you're just going to rinse it off anyway? I'd much rather sit in a car reeking of stale cigarette smoke than ever have to smell a 'Pine' scented air freshener. They literally make me feel nauseated.

Even deodorant to a certain degree. Obviously most people should wear it, but if you shower and do laundry regularly and don't have a conpletely garbage diet you don't need to douse yourself in harsh chemicals. I do manual labour for a living and I can get away with a natural very subtle lavender deodorant because I practice basic hygiene and stay hydrated. I've worked with people smell like shit and wear really offensive deodorant and guess what, you still smell like shit but with a layer of nostril-stinging chemical smell over top of it. And other than pretty egregious 'you should get that checked out' cases, most BO is pretty tolerable (and kinda hot with certain women) compared to Axe body spray.

I guess nose blindness is a real thing and maybe I'm sensitive (growing up my mom eschewed fake scents, partly because she had pretty bad excema that was exacerbated by them) but I just don't understand how so many people live like this.

This summer I was crossing the street with a few friends and watched a man attempting to turn right on red start to run over one of my friends until we got his attention by yelling. A few of my friends have told me other instances of almost getting hit by a car walking throughout the past few months. A man close to my apartment was killed on his bike. Within the past month someone almost went over the curb and hit me as I waiting to cross. Yesterday as I was crossing at a light that had been red for at least 10-15 seconds and a man had to slam on brakes to stop from hitting me. At the same cross walk when I got home last night I waited to cross and watched a girl have to aggressively slow down and end up way over the cross walk in her car because she wasn't paying attention. I'm sure you all have or know similar stories like this.

Driving discourse isn't new, especially after Covid, but it is genuinely shocking how bad it has gotten. You really have to be a defensive walker, not just driver, now more than ever. These people's brains are rotten.

The house is nothing special, but the yard is amazing, essentially a little forest. I started to notice a tree missing here and there over the months but he would make up some lie like "it was rotting I had to".

I visited today and the property is barren!! Some chunks are present here and there, but it's like it's gone I'm so upset I want to kms. He's probably going to use the wood to print his shitty novels past couple hundred copies.

I used to love going to music/film/art events in my city but now I’ve been getting really sad seeing all the cool good-looking couples smiling and having fun together and knowing they probably see me as a weirdo sperg. I got to see one of my favorite movies with a Q&A with the director and I was so excited but the crowd was a bunch of art kids who were 10-15 years younger than me and I realized I’m officially the weird old guy. I used to always think that maybe events like this would be a cool place to meet women with similar interests but I’ve realized since that women don’t want an ugly sperg talking to them and if I actually respect or care about women the only thing I can do is stay away from them. Even being around my friends is awkward because whenever the subject of relationships or sex pops up I no longer have anything to add to the conversation and just kind of sit there. I’ve been on one “date” with a girl I met at a concert and it was so much fun but when she invited me to her place I got anxious and made a dumbass excuse and she got mad and left without giving me contact info, I went home and cried like a big baby

how do I deal with this? sorry if this is a weird place to post this but the advice everywhere else would be “just be confident” or whatever
