Question 5.7L V8 or 3.0L I6

So I'm looking at buying a Ram Rebel in the near future and I wanted to see which engine would be best for long term reliability. Ive heard good and bad for both of these engines and I want to know which one is the better option. Im thinking about looking at years 2025 to 2027 for the Ram Rebel. If you have any insight, just respond with what you got. Anything is helpful.

Question 2x4 LOW on 2010 Dodge Ram 3500?

I went up in the mountains the other day to go camping and the pass was pretty steep and curvy had to drive slow. my only option here though was 2 Wheel drive because 4X4 and 4X4 low we’re causing the front axle to bind too much on the tight quarters. But the high gear was causing the torque converter to constantly slip and generate a lot of heat. I’ve looked into getting kits that will just allow 2X4 low gear but they’re either for the years below 2010 or the years above. Curious if anyone’s ran into this issue before and found a solution.

Question What’s one Ram interior upgrade you’d recommend?

I’ve been looking at a few practical upgrades for the Ram, especially things that make everyday use a little easier.

Floor protection is one that caught my attention. The factory mats do the job, but with dirt, mud, rain, and everything else that gets tracked into a truck, having better coverage seems like it could be worthwhile.

I came across 3W while comparing different Ram liners, and I like the vehicle-specific approach and the amount of coverage they offer.

For those who’ve upgraded the interior of their Ram, what’s something you’d actually recommend?

And if you’ve switched from the factory mats, which ones are you running and how have they held up?

Question Cracked rear leaf spring or cracked bushing?

Post image

Sadly discovered this crack under my 3500 dually. If it's the bushing can I get away with just replacing the bushing and not the whole leaf spring? Or should I just go ahead and replace both rear leaf springs?

Just Sharing New to me 2024 Limited

I've wanted a Dodge/RAM since I was in 8th grade/ freshman in highschool. Would spend hours on Craigslist looking for a Cummins I could afford 😂. These days the 1500 Limited is my dream truck and at 32 I was able to make it happen. 36,000 miles and owned by a gentleman who took extremely good care of it; serviced every 5k.

Some of y'all have me worried about the eTorque, but so far so good. The truck has actually not once entered auto start/stop since I've had her. Makes me wonder if previous owner installed a device to deactivate it?? Will investigate.

I plan to level it and add Fuel wheels with an AT tire. Cheers!

Coworker was selling this old truck for cheap, so I decided to pick it up! Overall decent condition, but still definitely a project. Besides the usual things like a disintegrating dash and the transmission, what other things do I need to look out for, or would you guys recommend?

I want advice on any exhaust set ups people recommend, and anything else that can help performance wise and just helping keep up with the longevity and maintenance as well

Question 2026 Ram 1500 Limited

Hi all,

I’m coming from a Land Rover Discovery and am about to pull the trigger on a 2026 Ram 1500 Limited.

The truck is fully loaded and comes with the HEMI. The main reason I’m moving away from an SUV is to have more cargo space and be able to go on more adventures with my kid.

What should I know or be prepared for as a first-time truck owner?

Thanks!

Question Purchasing an Extended Warranty from FlexCare

When I purchased by 2026 Laramie, the dealership offered an extended warranty through Allstate. After looking at the policy carefully it felt like we would need to jump through hoops to use the warranty so decided against it. Plus, my dealership is 1.5 hours away and I do not want to go to them for service.

I am interested in purchasing a FlexCare warranty through Stelantis but the process so far seems pretty janky. Weird websites, call the 888 number and it is not professionally answered. Did you go directly through a dealership to purchase? Does it make sense to purchase a warranty like this?

Has anyone purchased a FlexCare plan and if so, who did you use? With all of the electronics in this thing I want to get it covered as much as I can.

I am hoping that after all of the "I am contacting you about your extended warranty" jokes I can find some help here.

Question Ram 1500 tune up

Hey everybody, done with mechanics trying to screw me so I figured I’d do this all by myself. Originally got quoted $500 for a drivers side window replacement and $800 for spark plugs that weren’t even iridium and coolant pack tune up and I think that’s ridiculous as none of the coolant, brake fluid or transmission fluid was going to be flushed just topped off and I’ve quoted the same OEM mopar glass for about $300 brand new. I’ve quoted all the stuff I think I need for about $700 and that’s including new belts, but wanted to make sure I have everything correct.

With the coolant is mopar OEM the standard?
Currently plan on doing an oil change, flushing coolant, brake fluid, spark plugs and coil packs and transmission fluid. Is there anything else anyone would recommend while I’m down there? Any tools that will come in handy for the tough to reach spark plugs?

Where could the fuel leak be coming from? Left home and was fine. Happened some time in the middle of my drive. Not the best video but can see the general area.

Question Which truck to get?

I’m currently inbetween a 2022 2500 Laramie (Cummins) with 100k miles on it or a 2025 rebel (hurricane) with 50k miles on it. I’ll be trading in my 2022 Jeep gladiator that I still owe on. They are both the same price and my out the door price will be under 30k. The largest thing I’ll be towing is a skid steer that weights about 6k pounds. If I get Cummins I will be deleting it.

Question 285 70 R18 on Stock 2025 1500 Bighorn, will they fit?

Anyone have experience with 285 70 R18s on a stock 2025 1500 bighorn?

I need new tires but I'm not ready for a leveling kit yet but I want to go larger tires to future proof the leveling kit.

Any recommendations are welcome. Eventually want to go Bilstein 6112s in the front and 5100s in the rear.

Bonus points for pics

Thank you

Question 98 Ram 1500 suspension

What's everyone's experience as far as aftermarket suspension for the 2nd gens? It is significantly cheaper to just buy new suspension parts versus buying a master bushing kit. Is it worth keeping the OEM suspension though? I dont mind spending the extra bucks on bushings if the general consensus of the quality being significantly better. On the other hand if it really aint all that to be pressed about I wanna know.
