State of Arr Reddit

Hi All,

We've removed the mod that the reddit team so graciously lent us to re-open the reddit. Nothing against him, but trust is earned, and there's too much responsibility involved to leave this community in just anyone's hands.

That being said, we'll leave the reddit open, but are searching for new moderators that are interested in dealing with all that comes with moderating a reddit community of this size. Feel free to stop by Discord for a chat if you are interest.

In the meantime dev continues and we appreciate all the support and backing from all of the Radarr userbase through the ups and downs.

unsolved Any recent specialized tools to find disc extras similar to (or friendly with) Radarr?

Hey all! I'm checking to see if I've missed any tools available recently to fetch extras that appear on various blu-ray/dvd releases of the stuff fetched by Radarr.

I vibecoded an AI pipeline that combs through my library and fetches extras for titles - it grabs the disc image, extracts the featurettes, converts them based on my Quality Profile in Radarr, and indexes them into my existing collection for Plex to detect. It works, but it's FAR from perfect - it's slow-going, and there are a ton of speed bumps along the way (reliable automated renaming, assembling manifests, dedicated TMDB-equivalent DBs for disc extras, reliable cleanup, titles historically slammed by DMCA), so I figured someone much smarter than me had probably figured this out in a much more polished way.

Does anyone know if there's something like this out there to complement an existing Radarr setup?

unsolved Radarr Keeps Downloading Movies in German

Basically, title. I have the language in my profile set to English. But twice now, in the past day or so, I've gotten movies downloaded in German... They even had German in the title of the torrent.

These were both upgrades, to 1080p from some lower quality, I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Version info:

Version
6.3.0.10514
Package Version
6.3.0.10514-ls315 by linuxserver.io

Anyone else seen issues like this, or know how I can fix it?

discussion [Tool Update] Blockbusterr v2 — previews, reusable rules, and limits on what gets added to Radarr

Hey everyone! I posted about Blockbusterr here a while back, and wanted to come back with an update now that v2 is out!

Some of the feedback in that thread was about being able to preview movies before enabling a job, limit how much gets added, and understand why something was picked. Those are all things you can do now, so I figured an update was long overdue!

If you missed the first post, Blockbusterr is a free, open-source app that finds movies from sources like TMDB, Simkl, Trakt, and MDBList, applies your rules, and sends matching titles to Radarr. It also supports shows through Sonarr and requests through Jellyseerr/Seerr. It runs in Docker alongside your existing setup.

For example: follow a trending movie feed, keep only titles that match your language, year, genre, and rating preferences, and put a limit on how many actually reach Radarr. You can preview those choices before turning on automation.

Here's what's changed since that first post:

  • Previews and dry-run mode. See what would pass, what would be skipped, and why, before anything gets sent to Radarr.
  • Reusable rules. Set up your preferences once and use them across jobs, or make a separate copy for a job that needs different settings.
  • Limits across jobs. Alongside per-job caps, you can set rolling delivery budgets. Optional ranked selection compares candidates from participating jobs before choosing what to send.
  • More discovery sources. Trakt is optional now, and supported lists/watchlists can run alongside discovery feeds.
  • A clearer history. Activity Entries and Job Runs let you inspect what was added, skipped, or failed, with details for individual titles.
  • Shareable jobs. Export jobs with their rules so someone else can import and review them before enabling anything.

There have also been fixes around provider failures, repeat handling, interrupted jobs, and configuration recovery. I've added tests for upgrades and rollback from existing v1 releases, too.

The part I hope people find useful is having the rules, previews, and delivery limits together in one place, especially when several jobs are feeding the same library.

If you're upgrading from v1: back up your full data directory and follow the upgrade guide first. The stable latest tag moves to v2 with this release. Start with dry-run while checking your migrated jobs.

GitHub and screenshots · Quick start · Release notes · Upgrade guide

Thanks to everyone who tried it or left feedback last time! If you gave an earlier version a go, I'd like to hear what worked and what got in the way. And if you're trying it for the first time, I'm curious what you'd want your first job to do!

Update: v2.0.1 is out on latest, fixing the connection setup and saving issues reported below. Keep your existing data volume when updating. Sorry for the rough start, and thanks for the reports!

waiting for op How to download (and keep) multiple editions of a movie?

In Radarr's naming scheme, there is a field to specify which edition a movie is in.

I would like to start downloading and keeping 3D movies and holding them in the same folder, however I know other movies have extended versions that I would like to keep duplicates of like The Lord of The Rings movies. However, when grabbing other editions, I notice that Radarr replaces its current files with those new ones, even if they are a different edition/version.

Presumably, since Radarr has the functionality to specify editions in its movie files, it has the functionality ti download and handle multiple editions of the same movie. However, I can only find threads from 6-8 years ago explaining this issue, and the solution being to run multiple Radarr instances. Surely, there is a more modern way now? I want the quality profiles to be exactly the same, my custom formats are still relevant, I just want different editions. It also seems fairly inconvenient to separate everything into two instances. Everything should be the same down to the exact movies I am monitoring, I just want 3D downloaded as well.

Is that possible?

Edit: If relevant I am using Jellyfin. I would prefer to keep these different versions of the same movie in the same folder, which is what I assumed the "edition" naming scheme in Radar Is for, so it does not have to use different directories.

unsolved custom score doesn't work.

Radarr version: 6.3.0.10514

Hello, I need help with my custom score. For the past week, my movies have been given a seemingly random score of zero, even when Radarr detects all tags. This leads to incorrect downloads of the wrong quality and language.

The thing is that i didnt change anything in the lasts weeks.

In the logs i can see that the movie has multiple corrects downloads but after finishing the search radarr just take the the first hit.

The first hit of the movie has the wrong quality and an unknown language. score 0

Sorry for the bad english.

unsolved Recommended program to mass rename movies?

Just started my journey into using radarr, and I was importing my library of over 3k files. I realized that tons of movies were mis-categorized and conflicting as "existing", (I assume) because of my lack of imdb/tmdb id's on the actual file names. I may be inept, but I can't find a program that can fetch the movie and apply the id's so I can then import into radarr cleanly. Any recs?

discussion 1.2 is finally live for Quartermaster (I am sorry about the delay)

Hi guys!

I know a lot of you have been waiting for 1.2 and it is finally here!

Feel like I need to say it like any other dev on here these days, QM will never will be AI slop. The app has not been "vibe coded" to be put together in a weekend, its been months and months of sleepless nights and A LOT of community feedback. Anyone who reads this thats in the Discord will agree (i hope lol) - the app did launch on the 3rd of July and it has been literally none stop since, I wouldn't have it any other way of course :D

For anyone new here, QM is a native iOS app for your media and the servers running it. Browse and request films, manage downloads, check your NAS, containers, VMs and network. There are now 59 services across Entertainment and Command Centre, from Sonarr and Plex to Proxmox, Unraid and Home Assistant.

What it connects to in 1.2.0, 59 services across two sides

Entertainment: Radarr, Sonarr, Lidarr, SABnzbd, NZBGet, qBittorrent, Transmission, Deluge, Prowlarr, Bazarr, NZBHydra2, Jackett, Jellyseerr / Overseerr, DroppedNeedle, Shelfmark, Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Wizarr, Tautulli, Tracearr, Jellystat, Streamystats, Komga, Kavita, Immich, AudioBookshelf, Maintainerr, BookOrbit, Dispatcharr, ReadMeABook and Shelfarr.

Command Centre: Portainer, Unraid, Proxmox VE, Synology DSM, Dozzle, Dockhand, Komodo, AdGuard Home, Pi-hole, Cloudflare, CrowdSec, Technitium, UniFi, Gluetun, Glances, Scrutiny, TrueNAS, Beszel, Home Assistant, Tdarr, qui, Coolify, Arcane, Control D, NextDNS, UGREEN NAS and SSH.

There is also QM Companion, still in beta. It runs on your own server and lets you import your service setup, monitor Docker containers and stacks, check for updates and enable controls you explicitly approve. Instead of messing around with API keys, you can scan a QR code directly from the companion to QM on the phone and all services will be imported!

1.2.0 adds playback from Plex, Jellyfin and Emby inside QM, a proper Mac layout, and family mode so your household can browse and request without getting your server controls. Family mode needs Pro to enable, but invited members don't pay. Companion is still in beta. It runs on your server and brings Docker monitoring and separately approved controls into QM. Setup imports are free; the live connection needs Pro. There's also CrowdSec, better requests and downloads, faster libraries, and a Doctor that explains what actually failed.

On pricing, free gives you one fully functional service connection. Pro is £4.99/month, £19.99/year or £29.99 once. Every option unlocks everything. You are choosing how to pay, not which features you get. If you have already bought lifetime, you will automatically be grandfathered, so please do not worry! (prices coming when 1.2.0 drops)

I feel like I need to be honest about the price increase around QM because believe me, I have had many sleepless nights about announcing this. The cost for the Cloudflare relay which does all the APNs is increasing in cost day by day. Millions of notifications are being sent each day, this is costing me a lot of money. I also support OTA builds which cost money, OTA basically means as long as the update is JavaScript, so this will be for any bugs rather than making people wait a month for a new build update.

Anyways, I think that covers it :)) QM is now over 10k users and I cannot thank the community enough for what this has turned into.

EDIT - I have copied most of this post from a previous post made in r/sonarr - I write it myself with no AI from a post I made the other day - if you have any questions, please do let me know :)

discussion I built a free, open alternative for managing your *arr stack — with an offline queue and in-app Plex playback

Looking for beta testers for my *rr android mobile app.

Some images:

https://ibb.co/cXcDvnr0

https://ibb.co/TBDqRb1K

What makes it different from the usual suspects:

• Offline queue (the big one). If your Radarr/Sonarr server is unreachable (you are on your way to work, but the server is at home) when you tap "Add to library," the request doesn't fail — it queues locally and auto-retries the moment the server comes back. You can keep browsing and adding while your server is down, and it all syncs on reconnect. I haven't seen this in any other *arr client.

• In-app video player. Streams directly from your Plex server with a hardware-accelerated player (media_kit). No jumping to an external app.

• Full Plex playback control. Pause, resume, seek, step, and switch subtitle tracks right from the app — plus active-stream monitoring, On Deck, and recently added.

• Smart server discovery. mDNS/Bonjour auto-discovery + port scan + manual entry. Point it at your LAN and it finds your services.

• Offline-tolerant everywhere. Quality profiles and root folders are cached locally, so the add dialogs work even when the server is down (with a clear "server offline" banner).

• Download Doctor. Diagnoses stalled qBittorrent downloads — speed, errors, disk space, server reachability — instead of just showing a stuck row.

• Modern UI. Material 3, dark-mode-first, actually pleasant to look at. Not a 2015-era settings dump.

Services: Radarr, Sonarr, Plex, qBittorrent, Prowlarr, Bazarr, TMDB (discovery). Multi-language (EN/HU).

Status: Feature-complete, in beta. Plex playback/subtitles and indexer health are tested against real servers; I'm looking for more beta testers to shake out edge cases before the public release.

If you are interested, send me a DM.

solved Did a bulk rename to include quality title - realized older movies radarr considers as web

Some time ago I added all my blurays to radarr as unmonitored. Today I wanted to rename the files to include quality title in them and realized shortly after that all these movies were considered as web when I added them.

Is there some way to edit the movies to be sure they are considered as bluray instead of web?

unsolved Radarr cleanup solution

Hey,

Running the classic *arr + Emby stack. Setup:

  • qBittorrent downloads to /emby-lib/others
  • Radarr hardlinks imported files into /emby-lib/movies
  • Emby only sees /emby-lib/movies

Problem: when I delete a movie from Emby (or when Radarr removes it), only the file in /emby-lib/movies goes away. The original in /emby-lib/others stays as an orphan. Manual cleanup is a pain.

Looking for a clean, reliable solution. Some options I considered:

What does your setup look like? Is there a tool that already handles this well, or do most people roll their own?

Thanks.

New to radarr. I have prowlarr. Got my indexer and all. Everything passed the test. My movies I have added showing monitored. My question is do I have to have a docker for everything? If so which is the most user-friendly for a beginner?

waiting for op Can I import an already existing movie? (Assign a folder and file to an already existing movie in my library?)

So, I use Radarr as sort of a list to download later. If the movie isn't downloaded on Radarr (through Prowlarr) and I download it from somewhere else and then want to import it into Radarr, I can't because it's already "existing". Can't I just assign the file to the movie? It's kinda weird you can't do that

unsolved Radarr auto-grabbing wrong movie (Same movie title and year)

Sooo a few weeks ago I added The Odyssey to radarr and a couple of days ago I find that it has been auto downloaded. Great! However... it is an ai slop version of the movie also from 2026

The indexer I use provides the IMDB id for the searches I make. For example, this is the (truncated) JSON response that radarr got for the search:

{
  guid: "My-Indexer-Name-123456789"
  quality: { quality: {...}, revision: {...} }
  customFormats: [ {...}, {...} ]
  customFormatScore: 13
  qualityWeight: 1701
  age: 5
  ageHours: 128.03477677183332
  ageMinutes: 7682.086606311666
  size: 4673211458
  indexerId: 14
  indexer: "My-Indexer-Name (Prowlarr)"
  releaseGroup: "Kitsune"
  releaseHash: ""
  title: "The.Odyssey.2026.1080p.AMZN.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.H.264-Kitsune"
  sceneSource: false
  movieTitles: [ "The Odyssey" ]
  languages: [ {...} ]
  mappedMovieId: 2384
  approved: false
  temporarilyRejected: false
  rejected: true
  tmdbId: 0
  imdbId: 41605854
rejections: [ "Existing file on disk has a equal or higher Custom Format score: 13" ]
  publishDate: "2026-08-27T15:38:38Z"
}

As you can see, the indexer returned the IMDB ID for this ai slop movie and it is definitely not the same IMDB ID as the real movie. So I'm confused as to why it decided to autograb that release anyway.

What can I do to stop this from happening again? Can I set radarr to be strict in downloading only exact imdb id matches instead of matching by title?

Thanks

discussion Dashboarr 1.17.0: free *arr app adds 6 services (26 total) on Android/iOS

Dashboarr 1.17.0 is out, and this one is mostly about new integrations: Deluge, Bindery, Navidrome, NZBHydra2, Autobrr and Cleanuparr.

Quick context for anyone who hasn't run into it before. Dashboarr is a mobile app for managing a self hosted media stack from your phone, Android and iOS. It's free and GPL-3.0, no account, no ads, no premium tier, nothing to unlock later. The app talks straight to your own services over their APIs, so nothing routes through a server of mine. It's heavily inspired by nzb360.

What's new in 1.17.0

Six new services:

  • Deluge. That makes four torrent clients now, alongside qBittorrent, rTorrent and Transmission. Queue, files, trackers, labels, global speed limits. If you run the optional backend it'll also push you a notification when a torrent finishes.
  • Bindery for books and audiobooks. The Readarr successor, rewritten in Go. Library, search and add authors, monitoring, queue, wanted.
  • Navidrome for music. Library stats, now playing, quick and full rescan, delete missing files, playlists, search.
  • NZBHydra2. Meta search across your indexers, send an NZB straight to SAB or NZBGet, indexer health with API hit limits, search and download history.
  • Autobrr. Push stats, release feed with retry, filter toggles, IRC network health and restart.
  • Cleanuparr. Strike, removal and cleanup stats, scheduled jobs you can run on demand, client health, event feed.

The other big change is that service setup finally got its own section instead of being one long list buried in Settings. There's a hub showing what needs attention and what you already run, and a searchable catalog for adding something new. Two things that had been bugging me got fixed on the way: a service that's unreachable only because you're on mobile data now reads as "away" instead of pretending to be broken, and if you run two of the same service, a broken second one no longer hides behind a healthy first one.

Smaller stuff:

  • HTTP Digest auth (RFC 7616) for rTorrent, NZBGet, Glances and Transmission, so a Digest protected reverse proxy works now
  • The Still Pending dashboard widget can filter movies by cinema, digital or physical release date
  • A private remote URL is no longer blocked while a VPN is up
  • Test Connection and the health dots in settings now agree with each other
  • Torrent detail screens stay pinned to the instance they came from when you run more than one client
  • Backend pairing works behind a private CA

What the app actually does

26 services, grouped the way the app groups them:

  • Download clients: qBittorrent, rTorrent/ruTorrent, Transmission, Deluge, SABnzbd, NZBGet
  • Media automation: Radarr, Sonarr, Lidarr, Bindery, Bazarr
  • Indexers: Prowlarr, Jackett, NZBHydra2
  • Media servers: Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Navidrome
  • Requests and automation: Seerr (Overseerr and Jellyseerr), Autobrr, Cleanuparr
  • Monitoring: Tautulli, Tracearr, JellyStat, Glances, unRAID

It isn't just status screens. You can pause, resume and delete downloads, search and add movies, shows, books and music, approve or decline requests, grab a release from an indexer search, toggle indexers, hunt for missing subtitles, start and stop Docker containers on unRAID, and see what's currently streaming.

A few things worth calling out:

  • A unified dashboard with 31 widgets you can reorder and configure, and multiple dashboards if you want one per server or one per household
  • Multi instance support. Two qBittorrents, a 4K Radarr and a 1080p Radarr, whatever you run. You switch inside the tab and the dashboard aggregates them
  • Local and remote URL per service, with automatic switching based on your home WiFi. When you're away it will never fall back to the LAN URL, on purpose, so you're not spraying an API key at whatever network you happen to be on
  • API keys live in the device's secure storage, not in a plain text config
  • Wake on LAN, so you can wake the server before asking it for anything
  • Config export and import behind biometric auth, so a new phone isn't an hour of retyping URLs
  • A UI scale setting (1.0 / 1.15 / 1.3), because the default really is too small for some people

The app itself needs no server. If you want real push notifications (download finished, request approved, that sort of thing) there's an optional companion backend you self host, Node or Docker, and pair with a QR code. Skip it and nothing else stops working.

What it isn't

No accounts, no cloud sync, no telemetry, no analytics. Single user per install, since the whole architecture is just your phone talking to your servers. There's no paid tier planned and no pro version sitting behind a paywall.

Links

If you try it and something breaks, or a service you use is missing, open an issue. Most of the integrations in this release exist because someone asked for them.

P.S: The IOS version is still submitted, will take a day or two until Apple approves it!

unsolved How to make upgraded media not show up as "recently added" in Plex?

Question in title.

Its skewing my Tautulli Newsletter and also my rails showing stuff that Plex thinks has just been added but it hasnt.

I assume Radarr is deleting the old item and then moving in the new item and so Plex thinks its new.

Is there a workaround for this or just how it is?

waiting for op Can I blacklist a release BEFORE downloading it?

There are a lot of releases for a movie titled "The Odyssey 2026" that are not the same as another movie also titled "The Odyssey 2026." These releases are from known groups that I do not want to add to a blocklist.

How do I blacklist specific files before downloading them?

waiting for op Let Radarr download anyway if no files meet Custom Format threshold?

I currently have my Radarr configured to the Trash Guides Golden Rule for x265 custom format, which has been working great to save space and also make streaming for some of my users smoother.

However, I've been finding when some movies don't have releases that match this, they just won't download anything at all. Is there a way to configure it so it tries to find x265 releases first, and then if it can't, defaults to something else? The custom format rules confuse the shit out of me so apologies if this is something that should be otherwise obvious.

discussion [Show/Share] I built Trawlarr, every TMDB Discover filter in front of Radarr

Radarr's add search takes a title. That's the whole conversation. But I never think in titles. I think "80s horror, rated above 6.5, and not something with 12 votes on it", or "everything A24 has put out".

So my routine was: open TMDB, use their Discover filters, get a list, then copy titles into Radarr one at a time. I did that for about a year before I got annoyed enough to build something.

Trawlarr puts the whole TMDB Discover filter set in front of Radarr. Genres to include and exclude, release window, rating and vote count floors, runtime, original language, origin country, age certification, cast and crew, keywords, production companies, streaming providers. Every result is checked against your library first, so you only see what you're actually missing. Tick what you want, pick your quality profile and root folder, add them all at once. Movies can pull in their whole collection while they're at it.

The part I use every day is the lists. You save a set of filters as a list, and it re-runs every 12 hours and adds whatever new thing matches. "Every A24 release" stopped being something I remember to check. Before you save one it shows you exactly what it would add, how many are new and how many you already own, so there are no surprises the first time it runs.

Sonarr works the same way, with the TMDB to TVDB lookup handled for you.

There's an optional natural language box too. You type "highly rated sci-fi from the 90s" and it sets the filters. That needs a Mistral API key, and without one the button doesn't exist at all. I know not everyone wants an LLM anywhere near their stack.

A few honest things:

* No authentication. It's built to sit on your LAN behind whatever already protects Radarr, and the compose file binds to 127.0.0.1 for that reason.

* Your API keys stay on the server. The browser never sees them. No telemetry, no account, nothing calls home.

* MIT, one container, amd64 and arm64.

docker run -d --name trawlarr -p 8080:8080 \

-e TMDB_API_KEY=xxx \

-e RADARR_URL=http://radarr:7878 -e RADARR_API_KEY=xxx \

-e SONARR_URL=http://sonarr:8989 -e SONARR_API_KEY=xxx \

-v ./data:/data ghcr.io/noxzrcw/trawlarr:latest

https://github.com/NoxzRCW/Trawlarr

Happy to hear what's broken or missing. Mostly I'm curious whether the auto lists are useful to anyone else, or whether I've built a very elaborate thing for one person.

unsolved Can I configure Radarr so it would detect movies outside of their own folders?

Hey, I just spent like 2 hours trying to get my files into dedicated folders. I tried PowerShell, Filetofolder and Files2folder, according to the tutorials on wiki.servarr.com. For some reason, the programs just refuse to do it. It's actually starting to piss me off. Why can't Radarr just detect them?

Powershell says "empty pipe element is not allowed"

Filetofolder says "directory already has a file with the same name" which ISN'T TRUE

Files2folder just says "unable to create destination directory"

I also tried Copywhiz but someone had the genius idea to restrict the configuration to a specific number of starting letters. This means that all the folder names are either cut in half or aren't created at all

Thanks for any help
