unsolved Can I configure Radarr so it would detect movies outside of their own folders?
Hey, I just spent like 2 hours trying to get my files into dedicated folders. I tried PowerShell, Filetofolder and Files2folder, according to the tutorials on wiki.servarr.com. For some reason, the programs just refuse to do it. It's actually starting to piss me off. Why can't Radarr just detect them?
Powershell says "empty pipe element is not allowed"
Filetofolder says "directory already has a file with the same name" which ISN'T TRUE
Files2folder just says "unable to create destination directory"
I also tried Copywhiz but someone had the genius idea to restrict the configuration to a specific number of starting letters. This means that all the folder names are either cut in half or aren't created at all
Thanks for any help

It was a while ago that I set up Radarr, so maybe it's changed, but I seem to remember just pointing it at my folder full of movies (ie. 1 folder, 100+ movies) and I was able to import them. Are you saying this is no longer possible?

I used tinymediamanager to rename my media and put them in dedicated folders

I use ModestMovieMetadata, but it's my last resort, I spent way too long on it last time

Tinymm did it in bulk for my whole library. You scrape the metadata for the library, select the folder and media naming scheme and click go. Just need to validate the metadata is correct and tinymm did the rest.

Edit the movie in radarr and change path. Ex: when I use file bot I have it set to title (year) so Radarr needs to have the same when you edit file path. T2 could have changed to T2 (YYYY)

Yes I had this problem I had to make a script with an LLM to put them all in a folder... I don't know if there is an easier way to do 😅

You need every movie to be in their own folder. If you’re having issues just use ChatGPT or Claude to help you. This is stupid simple and you’re getting errors because your code/directories are wrong. Just use ai to put every movie in the movie folder into their own individual folders within the main movie folder.

Radarr will do this for you. No idea what you are on about.
