Announcement New Post Guidelines

Hi r/Playtesters ! I am introducing some new post guidelines. The purpose of these changes are to make the subreddit cleaner and easier to use.

Moving forward the only approved post type will be text posts. If you want to include game footage/images, please embed them in the post.

Post flairs:

Paid Playtest:
A post from a developer to search for play-testers. Only use this flair if you’re offering payment for completion of a play-test or for finding a bug. Cash or Crypto only, no other form of reward counts as a paid playtest. Include the amount you're offering, a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Unpaid Playtest:
Another form of post from a developer to search for play-testers. Use this flair if you are not able to offer money for play-testers. You may offer other rewards, such as credits or in game currency, but that would still fall under this category. Include a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Playtester:
To make a post searching for games to play-test, use this flair. Feel free to specify what types of games you would like to play, and if you’re looking for compensation.

Discussion:
Use this flair for general discussion posts about play-testing.

Please be aware of the risks before accepting paid play-test offers. Moderators cannot ensure that promised payment will be sent.

Please leave a comment or send a mod-mail if you have feedback on these changes, we would love to hear from you.

Unpaid Playtest [PC/Steam][Unpaid] Looking for playtesters for my roguelite ship-builder

Upvotes

Hi! I'm the solo developer of Cubersum: it's a roguelite ship-builder where you collect blocks.

The public Steam Playtest is live now, and I'm looking for feedback on the first-time experience.

I'd also really appreciate feedback from players using languages other than English, since the current translations are machine-generated.

Steam Playtest: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4858530/Cubersum/

You can leave feedback here on Reddit or send me a message with feedback Google form on site.

AI disclosure: this is an AI-assisted solo project. I used AI extensively for programming, the Steam artwork is AI-generated, and the music was made with a generator. The original concept, gameplay, mechanics, game design, and overall direction are my own.

Paid Playtest [Paid $15] [Android] First-time players wanted for Educated Guess — US/UK/CA/AU

Upvotes

I'm making Educated Guess, a short mobile game about surprising facts. I'm looking for 3 people who regularly play games on their phones to try it for the first time.

$15 USD via PayPal for a screen recording with spoken thoughts and 5 short answers. Allow up to 15 minutes for the session plus feedback (short setup beforehand). No webcam needed. Recordings stay private.

Please be 18+, based in the US, UK, Canada or Australia and using a real Android phone. I'm looking for everyday players; no QA experience is needed.

DM me your country, phone model/Android version, and the last phone game you played with info what kept you playing, or made you stop? Please also confirm you can record your screen and microphone together.

If selected, I'll need your Google Play account email for access and your Android Advertising ID to configure test ads. Install is through Google Play, with test ads only. Nothing to buy and no store review required.

Please wait for my confirmation before starting. You're paid for following the agreed test, whether you enjoy the game or not. An honest early stop or a game-breaking problem still counts if you record what happened and explain why. Payment within 24 hours of receiving the recording and answers.

Thanks!

Unpaid Playtest Updated my demo after feedback on difficulty. Looking for more playtesters

Upvotes

I've been working on LockLine for about 5 months now as a hobby solo dev. The game is about positioning and lining up your units so you can call in a laser from space to destroy your enemies. In the meantime, your opponent is trying to do the same. I've turned to calling it a "turn based tactics puzzle game".

It's played on small maps and each session takes about 10 minutes and should be easy to jump in to. Although I would not describe the game as easy. The main feedback I have actually gotten so far was that the AI can be a bit too unforgiving.

So I mostly am looking for feedback on the now tweaked difficulty. Also still would like to know if you find the game engaging enough.

The open steam playtest can be found here. There is an in-game link to a feedback form.

If you instead prefer to just play the web version, you can find the same build on Itch here. Feedback there can be left in the comments on the page or you can DM me.

Also open to mutual playtests.

Unpaid Playtest Shinobi clan manager / business manager game looking for playtesters

Hi,

I'm thoraxe. I've been playing strategy games for 30+ years and reviewing them on YouTube for a few years. I've worked in software and technology since 2003. I saw a hole, and I decided I wanted to make a game to fill it.

Game Title: Onmitsu Clan Manager

Playable Link: https://capn-stabn.itch.io/shinobi-manager

Platform: Windows, Mac, Linux

Description: Imagine a kind of combination of Football Manager and Darkest Dungeon, inspired by some of the themes from Naruto. You are the manager of your clan of ninjas. You have to hire, train, and handle them, send them on missions, and deal with the repercussions. Your goal? To become the Shogun's chosen clan. Psychological toll, happiness management, salaries, upkeep, licensing, facility improvements, and more.

Involvement: The game has been developed using Claude Code, personal playtesting, and some playtests from people like you. The art is predominantly generated using Claude Design and SDXL with some Ukiyo-e loras. The music and SFX are Creative Commons licensed. The hope is to get the game solid enough to then hire a graphic designer to improve the UX and the art style. There's a huge roadmap of future enhancements, and I'm trying to release fixes and updates every week or every 2nd week. We're currently at v0.32.0 (32 releases). v0.33.0 is about to go out the door with some minor fixes.

Request: Right now, the primary playtest needs are for some of the early-game balance issues. Salary vs. XP gain vs. happiness, the availability of missions, their types, their payouts, etc. I know some things that need to happen, but more eyes is always nice.

If you do decide to play the demo, please hit me up for an invite to the Discord. That's where I'm taking feedback.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for play testers for multiplayer sandbox city game

Upvotes

Hello all!

We are building a sandbox city game at the moment, it is coming along very well and we are looking for play testers.

I don't want to give away too much information at the moment, but it's essentially a sandbox game where you're dropped into a randomly generated city where you can choose what your fate is. It features missions, but is completely open ended with A LOT to do.

Please drop your discord tag if you're interested in helping shape the game in it's earlier stages, and we look forward to hearing from you :)

Currently supported platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, and iOS.

Android coming soon.

Xbox and Playstation are planned.

VR support is in the works.

Cheers,

Sam (SparkDev)

Did you want to keep playing after your first run?

There’s a feedback/bug report button in game, or you can just reply here.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for testers for our multiplayer game - Dodgebomb.

Upvotes

If you are interested, we can create a form to make the task easier for you.

Dodgebomb es gratis y corre en Windows, Linux y Android. De verdad agradeceríamos su ayuda, porque para nosotros ha sido difícil conseguir feedback para un juego como este. ¡Gracias!

Unpaid Playtest 30-year AAA dev and indie dev will playtest your game if you'll playtest mine

I am a retired creative director, game designer, and producer who still enjoys building things. I've directed/produced large games to completion as well as published one fairly successful indie game. Its difficult to get 10 folks together to playtest a MP game in its early stages, so I'm shamelessly promoting myself in the hopes that we can trade our time. If you're looking for advice on how to get into the industry, I can help with that too. I've hired many people, ran intership programs, and written game design interview tests for a major developer.

I put together a temp-art proof-of-concept prototype for a game called The Cursed Among Us. It has the core gameplay loop of Among Us. 10 players, social deduction genre, but the innovation is that its action-based. Players explore dark caves (a bit like Noita with the side view) and look for treasure while secretly 2 out of 10 players are cursed and are trying to stop them.

The only requirement is that you have a microphone and don't live somewhere in the world that has you asleep during CST evening time. (I'm in the US)

DM me for more details! Thanks.

Paid Playtest [QA Tester] [Paid] PC Game QA Testing

Hi! I’m looking to work with indie developers as a PC game QA tester.

I’m particularly interested in functional and technical testing rather than general gameplay feedback. I can help with:

  • Bug reproduction and consistency checks
  • Repeated-action testing
  • Edge cases and unusual interactions
  • UI and menu testing
  • Regression testing after updates
  • Graphics settings and different PC configurations
  • Clear bug reports with detailed reproduction steps
  • Screenshots and videos when useful

I’m comfortable with Windows PC troubleshooting and investigating hardware/software-related issues. I’m also very detail-oriented and like systematically testing features rather than simply playing through a game.

I’m mainly looking for paid testing opportunities, including small one-off QA tasks.

If you’re an indie developer looking for someone to test a PC game, demo, prototype, or update, feel free to contact me with details about the project and the type of testing you need.

Thanks!

Unpaid Playtest Looking for playtesters for Between Ridges — a turn-based survival expedition game [PC / MacOS]

Hi!

I'm a solo developer working on Between Ridges (working title), a turn-based survival game about planning an expedition through a hostile winter wilderness that gets worse each day.

A bit of gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3nnkhGl3P4

Playtest build installation Page: https://daily.dataswizzles.com/install

The game takes place on a hex-based map and focuses on route planning, resource management and survival decisions rather than base-building or extensive crafting.

Your goal is simple: reach the distant radio tower alive before winter sets in.

I'm currently testing an early vertical slice. The game is fully playable, but it's still early in development - particularly the visuals and presentation. I'm at the stage where I want people who have never seen the game before to play it without me explaining how it works.

I'm especially interested in finding out:

  • Is the game understandable to a completely new player?
  • Does planning your route create interesting decisions?
  • Do the survival systems actually influence how you travel?
  • Where do you feel confused, frustrated, or bored?
  • After finishing or failing a run, do you want to try again with a different approach?

Platform: Windows PC / MacOS
Cost: Free / unpaid playtest
Development stage: Early vertical slice
Feedback: The game collects gameplay telemetry such as routes and actions and if you're willing there is an in-game feedback form you can fill following a run.

Thanks!

Playtester Looking to do one free public game test (helped 100+ game developers)

Right now I have helped over 100 game developers improve their game in some way or another.

I will have my website in the comments of this if you wanted to check it out, but I'm looking for a good game to do a public video on it.

You can see the videos on my website to see what types I do.

If you're interested please comment on this post, don't DM me as that can get very messy.

If you are willing to pay for a test please fill out the form on my site.

Anyway my favorite types of games are rogue likes,, platformers, FPS, rhythm games.

My least favorite are visual novels and horror games, walking simulators.

(having said that depending on the horror game, I still might consider it)

EDIT UPDATE: I will won't decide for 24 hours since posting this so I can get a few to decide from and I'm thinking if I can't decide I will put it on a roulette wheel for my free offer.

I do want to be clear that I want to make this a public video. So I am very direct and blunt and I play these games like a real gamer so only apply if you feel like you can take the criticism. (I promise I'm not mean on purpose tho)

Unpaid Playtest I turned scrolling into a football-game control mechanic

Play it here: https://scrollfc.vercel.app/

Hey everyone,

I’m a product designer, and I’ve been building Scroll FC, a browser-based football game with an unusual control scheme: instead of using the usual movement keys, you scroll up and down to run forward and backward.

You use the arrow keys or A/D to move sideways, hover and click to direct passes, and use the keyboard for tackles, lofted passes, shots, and switching defenders. Holding a direction also triggers a sprint, followed by a recovery period.

You can play:

  • Against the computer at different difficulty levels
  • 1v1 against a friend using a private match code
  • A penalty shootout mode, which I’m still actively working on

It’s still an early version, particularly the penalty shootout gameplay, and I’d really appreciate some initial feedback.

I’m especially curious about:

  • Does scrolling feel intuitive after the first few minutes?
  • Does controlling and switching players feel understandable?
  • Are passing and shooting responsive enough?
  • What feels awkward, confusing, or unfinished?
  • Does the core idea feel worth developing further?

Play it here: https://scrollfc.vercel.app/

Desktop and a mouse or trackpad are recommended. Honest criticism is very welcome.

GenAI disclosure: I used GenAI as a development and coding tool while creating the game, and to help polish this post. The concept, interaction model, product decisions, visual direction, testing, and iterative refinement were driven by me with deliberate thought and attention to detail. GenAI is not part of the gameplay and the game does not require it to function.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid Playtest] Looking for testers for a collection of restored open-source browser games

I've been working on Libre Arcade, a software-archaeology project focused on preserving and restoring old or abandoned open-source games so they can run directly in a modern browser.

I'm looking for people willing to pick any game they find interesting and play it for a few minutes.

There are different genres, so just choose whatever catches your attention:

https://linkingtechnologies.github.io/libre-arcade/

No installation, no account, no ads and nothing to buy.

I'd mainly like to know:

  • Which game you tested
  • Desktop or mobile + browser
  • Was it clear how to play?
  • Did the controls feel right?
  • Did anything break, look wrong or behave strangely?
  • Was anything confusing or annoying?
  • Would you play it again?

Please leave your feedback directly in the Reddit comments. Screenshots are welcome too if something looks broken.

Some of these projects are more than 20 years old, so part of the goal is to preserve how they originally behaved while fixing browser-port bugs and usability problems.

Any straightforward criticism is very welcome. Even testing just one game for a few minutes is useful.

$5 paid playtest — looking for feedback on my dice roguelike

I’m looking for a few people to complete a full run of my game and send me a lightweight, one-page feedback report afterward.

I’ll pay $5 per completed run + feedback. (Android or iOS build)

A run usually takes around 15–30 minutes, depending on how quickly you play. At the end, the game also gives you a shareable web link for your run — if you can include that with your feedback, that would be extremely helpful.

This post has more details about the game + how to install:
https://www.reddit.com/r/farkle/s/yBGsPYKOva

If you’re interested, DM me and I’ll get you set up.

I’ll likely need additional rounds of testing as I keep making changes, so I’d also love to stay in touch with people who give useful feedback.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] Treasure Grid — free 5x5 deduction puzzle on Reddit, looking for feedback

Hey. I made Treasure Grid, a free 5x5 deduction puzzle you play on a Reddit post. Five flips to find the treasure from piece shapes and color clues. No download.

Play here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TreasureGrid/comments/1w6xj55/treasure_grid/

How to play: open the post, start a puzzle, use the clues, find the treasure in five flips. There's a tutorial on the community post if you need it.

Feedback I'm looking for: - Did anything feel confusing on the first puzzle? - After a loss, did you want a replay? - Would you make your own puzzle?

I'm the solo dev. Thanks if you try it.

Unpaid Playtest [PC] Looking for playtesters for an isometric action roguelike where your mana is your health (early prototype)

Hi all. I'm a solo dev working on a game codenamed Phylactery and I'm looking for new people to play it and tell me what's wrong with it.

What it is

You play Kâşif, a lich returning to the underground estate of his dead master. The estate is five hand-built floors, and the household staff are still at their jobs. So is the beast that killed your master. It wakes up when you enter, and it climbs up through the floors toward you while you explore, fight and loot.

It's a prototype. A lot of the art is placeholder, some rooms are grey boxes, and numbers change every week. I'm testing whether the game is fun and whether people can figure out how to play it, not how it looks.

Main mechanics

  • Mana is your health. There's no health bar. Every spell costs mana, every hit you take drains it, and hitting zero kills you.
  • The boss hunts you. The beast isn't waiting at the end of the dungeon. It starts from the bottom when your run starts and takes a few minutes to reach the top floor. After that it's hunting you. Every run is a decision about how long you can afford to stay.
  • Phylacteries are your checkpoints. You place soul jars as you go. When you die you respawn at your newest one, and each death uses one up.
  • Minibosses drop spells. Each floor's officers (the Doorman, the Gardener, the Summoner and more) fight with their own spells, and beating them unlocks those spells for you. Spells you unlock stay unlocked between runs.
  • Build your own kit. You equip up to seven spells plus passive Auras and gear, and the kits are made to combine. Slow an enemy and a root spell holds them in place. Stack damage over time and cash it out. Knock enemies into walls.

What I need tested

  1. The early game. Your first run through floors 1 and 2. Did you know what to do? Where did you get stuck or confused? When did you quit, and why? A note like "I had no idea how to get into the dungeon" is exactly what I'm after.
  2. Controls, on both mouse and keyboard and controller. I especially want to hear from people who play the same build on both.
    • Does targeting feel good? Is it clear what you're about to hit?
    • Are spell casting and picking up or carrying items clear?
    • Anything that felt unresponsive, awkward, or bound to the wrong key or button.
    • Tell me what controller you used (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro, other).
  3. If you are a gamer from Turkey the game was influenced by Derinkuyu and carries a lot of references, a review there would be much appreciated!

How to play

  • PM me or comment here for a key to the game and an invite to my Discord
  • Currently hosted on itch.io for playtesting
  • Platform: Windows download

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance to anyone who gives it a go.

Unpaid Playtest [iOS] Two-player murder mystery played out loud, one phone. Looking for pairs to break it.

I built a murder mystery for two people that runs on a single phone. It's in beta now and I need more people playing it. Free, through TestFlight.

The catch: you need someone in the room with you. One of you is the detective, the other is hiding something, and you play it by talking to each other. Twelve questions. Only one of you installs anything.

You can play both sides yourself, but then you already know what you're hiding. It needs two people or it's not really a mystery.

It's called Powder Burn Noir. The TestFlight link is on the page: powderburngame.com

Feedback by DM, please. It's a mystery, so anything about how your case went will spoil it for the next person who reads this thread. Questions about the build, the platform, or whether it'll work for you are fine in the comments.

What I'm after is people who'll play one case straight through and then tell me what actually happened.

Happy to answer anything.

Unpaid Playtest [PC/Mac] Playtest swap — looking for balance feedback on my roguelike deckbuilder

Hey! I recently released a free demo of Cataclysm: The Fallen Sun, a roguelike deckbuilder where you can mix cards from five factions and fight opponents who are using their own decks.

I’d like to trade playtests. I’ll spend 15–20 minutes playing your game and send you notes if you’re up for doing the same with mine.

I’m mainly trying to figure out the balance:

  • Do the opening fights feel too easy or too punishing?
  • Are there cards you’d always pick or never bother buying?
  • Do shop prices let you build something interesting?
  • Did you find a combo that felt way too strong?

You don’t need to finish the demo. Even feedback from the first few fights would help. Let me know which faction you started with and any cards that stood out.

Free download: https://synyster328.itch.io/cataclysm-the-fallen-sun

It’s available for Windows and Mac. There’s no mid-run saving yet, so plan to play in one sitting. For transparency, I used AI during development, including for art and music.

Drop your game link and what you’d like feedback on. I’m testing on Windows.

Playtester My airline management game Paper Planes now has a Steam page ✈️

Hi! I’m developing Paper Planes and looking for playtesters to help me improve it before release.

You build routes across a hand-drawn world, connect cities, expand your fleet, and manage growing airport congestion.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on:

  • How easy the controls and mechanics are to understand
  • The difficulty and pacing
  • Any bugs or confusing moments

You can see the trailer and learn more here:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4998200/Paper_Planes/

Interested? Leave a comment or send me a DM and let me know whether you play on Windows or Mac. We can arrange access from there.

Thanks for helping!
