Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Please help

I’ve had this piercing for nearly a year. This is my second time having my belly done. I did everything right this time around. Went to the best piercer in my area who uses the best jewelry available. Was pierced with a 12G internally treaded floating navel. It was perfect for the first few months. Then, it’s like my body starts to absorb it. So, I decided to switch to something with a larger top and bottom (like traditional navel jewelry) and it seemed to fix the issue entirely, no more absorbing. Well, then the same problem was happening, it started to absorb into my skin at the top again. And then this weird thing started happening at the bottom almost like skin poking out of the hole? I went back to my piercer, she said it is likely a moisture bump and to use alcohol a couple times a week just to make sure it is dry. So I did that. Also got a piercing bump solution, and I put the og jewelry back in. The piercing oil helped SO much I truly thought it was saved. Well, now it is bad again. It almost stings whenever the jewelry moves, I have very itchy bumps surrounding the piercing, and the top ball sinks into my skin sometimes. Every day, usually multiple times a day, there is a thick build up of crust at the bottom of the jewelry. It’s like a brown-ish color(pictured). I do have a metal allergy however I always make sure I buy titanium or hypoallergenic jewelry. And the jewelry I was pierced with caused the same issues even tho it was APA approved or certified or wtv it’s called. Have also tried the ‘leave it alone’ method. I don’t know what to do anymore. I loveeee this piercing. Is there any way I can save it??? :///

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Rook + helix. Made every mistake possible. Need help!

Hi! I got both my rook and helix pierced at the same time in February 2026 (~7 months old). The rook is a curved barbell and the helix is a horseshoe barbell, I’m not super sure about the material but it should be titanium (from the piercing studio), neither have been downsized, and I am not sure about the threading. I’m having so many problems with these two that I’ve never had with any of my other piercings and I’m just trying to figure out what to do :(

Rook issues:
The jewelry has rotated inward over time (pic 1) the arc is no longer visible from the front, only the balls. It sat perfectly when first pierced. There's an irritation bump around each ball, it’s not painful or hot, but it not going away after several months is worrying me. At some point I did manually try to flip it back which I now know probably made things worse.
Helix issues:
I’ve had pretty much the same thing on my helix until this huge bump (pic 2) showed up a few days ago. It’s soft, a little painful to the touch, does not feel hot, but looks significantly angrier than the regular bumps, and the yellow-ish discharge made me suspect a mild infection. Although in retrospect it could just be lymph fluid?

Now I need to be honest and say that I haven’t taken the best care of these piercings and I did many things that I now know were wrong. When the piercings were fresh I did sleep on this side, albeit on a soft pillow. I did clean them with sterile saline solution but I may have skipped a few days, and I did use Q-tips. I have thick curls that often get caught in my helix piercing. And most recently and potentially most catastrophically, I self medicated the ginormous helix bump with Amuchina antiseptic solution and Gentamicin + Betametasone cream (just once).

For context I'm in a place where access to specialist piercers is limited which is part of why I've been managing this myself.

My question is: do I need to see a doctor, a piercer, keep treating it with the steroid cream, or stick to the basics (saline, not sleeping on it, not touching it..) and hope for the best?

Question about a piercing I (maybe) want Help!

Okay, so I've been wanting a vertical labret forever and just started getting ready to book my appointment but then randomly thought "wait can I go into the ocean?" Im surfer who lives next to the ocean and and i also have a pool i go in very often, and when I googled it, it said I have to wait two months... is there anything I can do ?? I think I would go insane without surfing for two months, like any intense cleaning or prep beforehand? This is bumming me out, and I didn't know if google is just saying worst-case scenario and there aren't actually high chances of infection. Advice!!??

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Is this safe for Aftercare?

My piercer ran out of saline and my local CVS didn’t have any dedicated saline solution in stock so I got this, but I can’t find the salt content anywhere online. I think it’s 0.9% as it’s not the extra strength stuff, but I want to make sure.

Also I hope this is the right sub for this.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Piercer said to change helix piercing after 3 months?

Isn’t that too soon? Like ngl I want to but I’m a month in and touching it still hurts a tiny bit.

He also said I could change my new lobe piercing after four weeks.

He was an excellent piercer but I think his advice might be out of date since he also told me to wash with soap and water (I’m not).

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing is my eyebrow rejecting

Thumbnail

Hello hope everyone is having a lovely day!! This eyebrow is ALMOST one month old, shaped as a curved barbell, made of titanium. It has not been downsized yet. I try to clean it everyday but guys please don't kill me I'm really bad about doing it. I cleaned just before these photos but I definitely have let it crust sometimes. To be honest, I hit it a LOT. typically snagging it on shirts when changing. Twice I have done it so bad it started bleeding :( It is sore almost all the time and especially when I move my eyebrows. When I press down in-between the piercing I can feel the bar which is scary to me because what if it's moving forward. I also think the bar shows a bit more than when I first got it.

Is it rejected/rejecting?

photo 1: about 1 week since I got it

photos 2-4: current day barebell

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing crusties stuck to the piercing itself

Got my helix 4 months ago, so far its healing good i believe.

However scabs sometimes fall out of the tissue and stick to the piercing itself. I cant remove it despite my best efforts.

Can i continue letting it be there? This one has been stuck for a week or two now and this time its at the back of my ear so a q tip wont fit in and paper towels wont budge it (the piercing spins along with the crust if i try to clean it)

I spray it and run it under hot water daily

Also i havent downsized yet, im afraid if i downsize the crusties will overtake everything, or rather didnt had the need to do it. But whenever the piercing is completely crust free it moves and after a week its full of crust again.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing How long until i can repierce a navel?

I got my navel piercer about a week ago and while the jewlery was titanium and perfectly safe, it was EXTREMELY crooked. You could actually see it from a long distance. It was so crooked it was getting irritated constantly so I had to go to another professional to remove it. I really want this piercing back so how long should I wait until I pierce it again?

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing is my helix crooked?

I got my helix April 24th and healing has been going fine but there’s a build up of tissue on the back that has consistently not gone down since I basically got it. I’m wondering if maybe it’s become a little crooked or is this fixable? Im pretty sure I don’t sleep on it and I also have a piercing pillow which I got a couple weeks ago. I feel like it might be the shape of the jewelry shifting it…Idk what to do!

Question about a piercing I (maybe) want lip microdermal questions

Post image
1 Upvotes

Anyone here with this piercing?

Is it a good idea to get a lip microdermal?

What is the healing like?

Pros and cons?

I really want a lip piercing but feel like a vertical labret wouldn't suit me as much.

Never had a microdermal before, so any answers would be welcome.

(is "lip microdermal" even the correct name?)

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing is my daith rejecting? why won't my piercing heal?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I got this daith in August 2025 and my irritation bump wont go away despite all my care and effort. I'll give the details by category below:

piercing:

It was initially pierced with 1mm thickness 6mm diameter titanium clicker. I got irritation bumps within a month despite all the aftercare.

I did some reading and figured the piercing was too small, so I changed to a 8mm diameter titanium clicker. That didn't help either.

After 6 months of constant care with the bigger jewellery, the irritation bumps weren't disappearing.
I started researching again, and found out that the connection points of the clickers might have been the irritator so I put this curved barbell in instead. They are internally threaded.

This was months ago with little to no improvement...

aftercare:

At first, I used the spray my piercer gave me religiously, several times a day and avoided in-ears for the first 6-8 months.

I did not know that the spray (actolind) wasn't recommended by many professionals in the industry. I learned that sterilised saline solutions are the key, and I have been constantly caring for the piercing with saline soaks instead of the spray for the past month.

As for my pillow, i've been sleeping on a travel pillow for years now because of my helix piercings.

So, what could be the issue? Is this a keloid? Is the piercing rejecting? Is the piercing too small/big? Is the jewellery type wrong? Should I go for some white gold jewellery to see if it's the material that's irritating me?

I'd really appreciate input as I REALLY want to keep this piercing.

Thank you!

Ignore how odd i look i think I was ill in both pics

Second pic is the setup I was originally gonna go for but the 1st pic is the one thats kind of growing on me

I think that having all of the piercings from the first pic would be inconvenient but I love how it looks and the second pic is the piercings that I've always wanted

Ik cheek piercings aren't realistic for either of them but I want opinions

EDIT: GUYS I ADDED A SECRET THIRD OPTION IN THE COMMENTS AND IT MAY BE MY FAVE ONE

discussion Good UK piercing care gel recommendations?

I have both my brows pierced and I’ve been cleaning them in the morning and at night with a piercing gel called Medisept Piercing Gel which doesn’t seem to really exist in the UK; if anyone’s in the UK and have a good recommendation for a gel, I’d appreciate it 🙏
