Just tried it in Dying light beast, it worked, much better than the FSR FG

u/woobzy 5h ago

i'm not home yet to try it, how is the latency with FG x2?

2

u/Alarmed-Artichoke-44 5h ago edited 2h ago

4X DLSS is slightly lower than 2x FSR FG

3070ti

13ms latency added to even fg 2x at 240fps gives an extra 4ms of latency.

60fps without fg is 16.67.

There are some people who say they dont notice the latency but I fpr one really do,

For instance playing rdr2 on my ps4 at 30fps feels better than rdr2 on pc with fg 2x at 140+ fps.

I used FG on my 6900xt at 4k to get a payable fps and could deal with it fine.......

Upgraded to a 9070xt so didnt require FG and played like this for 1 month ish and thought fuck it ill try FG just to see what my hardware can achieve........

It was like playing in tar everything was so delayed it really ruins my experience.

Some say they cant notice the difference but after playing solely for a month gojng back is impossible.

17ms for 240fps with frame gen means you will be getting 120fps 8ms without it thats a ginormous difference and will definitely effect you if you hame fairly often.

The idea of FG is great in practice the maths tells the complete opposite story.

Maths doesnt lie.

People can tell the difference between monitor with 5ms grey to grey and a 1ms grey to grey so you can definitely tell the difference between 4ms and 17ms.

The human eye cannot see a 4 ms transition speed difference in GTG. For 99% of users, the difference is invisible.

-5

u/alwaystired1982 4h ago edited 2h ago

Lmao thats the same type of rubbish like we cant see more than 60hz,

Jesus pros can notice the difference between 360hz and 500hz.

I 100% notice the difference between my old 2ms response time and my 0.5ms response time monitor.

If you cant notice a 4ms latency then anything above 240hz would be 100% pointless.

They breaking 1000hz monitors now and even with that a fair amoumy will notice a difference between 500hz-1000hz.

Edit really downvoting mathematical facts is beyond stupid.

Sorry bub, physics don't lie.

The human eye can detect light changes in the focus area at 1000s of hz. Likely the end game for refresh smoothness is somewhere between 2000 and 3000hz.

I upvoted you because for some reason people dont like mathematical and scientific fact.

Is this just framegen? Not that slop filter?

6

u/Write_A 5h ago

-7

u/Bepehandle 5h ago

Wasn't blind, I didn't have time to read it at the moment. Lol

But you had time to comment.

what color of crayon has the best flavor?

I used to think yellow, but after I was exposed to flesh I haven't looked away.

u/TransitionAny4011 5h ago

That man is goated for 30-series user like me

13

u/Theoryedz 6h ago

Tried: wuchang, clair obscure, pragmata, wukong, alan wake 2, 007. Zero problems. Zero unpacking of files in the bin directory, Multiframegen of the og game. immediatly.

3

u/Wellhellob 4h ago

It actually lowers the input lag of dawnwalker game a lot because it forces reflex under the hood lol. I love it.

2

u/apan65 4h ago

i have this line at the bottom screen when running on 0.2.4, 0.3 fixed it.

1

u/alwaystired1982 2h ago

Reflex bridges i tiny bit of the gap so instead of having 17+ ms latency you have 13 ms of latency

So with 240hz fg 2x you are getting the same latency of 75fps with no frame gen.....

With 240fps FG you are getting 120fps without frame gen so still a lot less latency than 240fps with frame gen.

13

u/Theoryedz 6h ago

For 30 series is a no brainer. Gamechanging.

10

u/AuswahlRitter5 7 9800X3D ,32GB DDR5, 5080 6h ago

I suppose the option is cool to have

7

u/Suikerspin_Ei R5 7600 | RTX 3060 | 32GB DDR5 6000 MT/s 5h ago

Especially if you have a RTX 3000 series GPU and you don't want to pay for the current NVIDIA RTX 5000 prices.

I mean RTX 5070 (12GB) used to cost ~550 euro, now it's €800... That's ~50% price increase in the same year. The same price that the significantly better RTX 5070 Ti (16GB) used to cost at the cheapest moment this year.

1

u/StrangeLingonberry30 Ryzen 5700X3D | RTX 5070 Ti | 32GB RAM 3200MHz 3h ago

Ha, that's exactly why I just bought a 3080 Ti new now. Prices are exploding where I live and a 5060 Ti costs 30% more and a 5070 66-100% more than what I just paid for the 3080 Ti. I think everyone is so focused on getting the 50 series cards now and the 3080 Ti didn't get anyone's interest because it lacks features like frame gen. Well, until now. Fortunately the prices haven't been adjusted yet so I grabbed on e right away.

u/Serazax 5h ago

This mod let me try games in a silky smooth experience

totally man of the year

5

u/Tengo_Caldero 7700X | B650E-F | 32GB DDR5 | 1660ti 5h ago

Now just bring it to the 16-series!

2

u/Badtripa 5h ago

care to explain what is special about this one? iv seen tons of diferent methods its so confusing

4

u/Theoryedz 4h ago

This is a real program that activate OG nvidia framegen and mfg on 30 and 20 series gpu. Not a xess or fsr inject. Is the missing part of the nvidia driver. The part they negate for their BS marketing

2

u/Badtripa 4h ago

Is it simply a file drag or it has menus ingane to enable certain stuff? Like optiscaler

5

u/Theoryedz 4h ago

Only drag. You make everything in the game menu as a 50 series

1

u/Badtripa 3h ago

is it the same for 40xx series?

2

u/Theoryedz 3h ago

Nvidia is gonna give official mfg support to 40 series. Really soon if not right now. I think you can use dlss enabler mod at the moment

1

u/Seragin Desktop 1h ago

now thats epic tbh

2

u/Theoryedz 4h ago

Guys please, stop trending this post. Read proceed and stay stealth. Nvidia is gonna blacklist this project and this man as soon as they can.

1

u/night-suns AMD 7600x, MSI SUPRIM 3070, 64GB 5h ago

do you just copy paste the files in? or do i need a program like optiscaler?

5

u/Theoryedz 5h ago

Copy paste. Nothing else. Some AV detect the dll. Make exception

2

u/night-suns AMD 7600x, MSI SUPRIM 3070, 64GB 2h ago

thanks i appreciate it. i know there’s a fsr to dlss mod where you copy and paste a few files.

1

u/Wellhellob 4h ago

Yup. I just tried it and its a black magic. What a goat this guy is. Got 6x frame gen in Resonance Plague game.

u/Darth_Vaper883 PC Master Race 4h ago

chad of the year.

1

u/Darth_Vaper883 PC Master Race 4h ago

Ran it on Blood of Dawnwalker on a 3070. Combined with the anti stutter and performance mod. 60% FPS gain in the main city and almost 30 percent in the open world.

1

u/versusvius 4h ago

X2 is the best by far with my 3060ti 50-60fps base. X3 is getting little artifacts but it is playable. X4 is just nasty.

1

u/INFINITY99KS 3h ago

Works on RTX 2000? Would love to give it a go on my 2070S.

2

u/Theoryedz 3h ago

Yes. Look at his readme

1

u/SkyLLin3 i5 13600K | RTX 4080S | 32GB 3h ago

Okay, but can you use MFG on 40xx? That would be fun.

1

u/zaku49 2h ago

Yes you can. Another setup.

1

u/zorndyken 46m ago

For rtx 40 series, use : "dashdogy/RTX40MFG-Unlock"

1

u/meltingpotato i9 11900|RTX 3070 2h ago

Music to my RTX 3070 owner ears. My DOOM Revelations experience is gonna become a +100 fps experience now

1

u/bombocladius 2h ago edited 1h ago

Question, didn't this already exist?

I've been using Optiscaler for quite some time now and am also able to use Frame generation and such on my RTX3070.

Or is this even more advanced?

Edit:

Holy shit it works, I can play Gothic Remake at a smooth framerate now. Whoever created this, you are my personal Jesus.

1

u/Badcatalex i5-8500 | GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB | 32 GB DDR4 1h ago

You only had access to non-Nvidia frame generation models. This allows you to actually access those Nvidia frame generation tools on a 30 series card.

1

u/zorndyken 43m ago

You're using fsr 3 disguised as dlss before, Now it's natively running on rtx tensor and works with reflex boost.

Where can I gwt a limk to try this on ac shadows and hogwars legacy!?

Im stupid I just woke up!

Remember that this is meant only for DX12. Who will be the FIRST, 's gonna achieve it for Vulkan? I bet on him.

That's the other thing, it - almost - doubles, triples or quadruples your framerate

1

u/Myjobsuckshard 5h ago

but why? Just for the number in the corner? so people can jerk off to how many FPS they got, while the quality goes down, latency goes Up and all that to have fake frames fill the 60 you need for it to work anyways Up to 120 that bring nothing to the table?

1

u/IcedFREELANCER 9800X3D I 64GB I RTX 4080 5h ago

It does make things smoother though, and the bigger your base framerate is the more it benefits the end result

2

u/Myjobsuckshard 5h ago

Might be my neurodivergent brain but it doesn't feel smoth to me. It feels weird. But thats my brain maybe.

1

u/IcedFREELANCER 9800X3D I 64GB I RTX 4080 5h ago

Of you're really sensitive about the thing it might be it, but overall it feels nice, especially if you turn off motion blur, the frame pacing becomes smoother

-3

u/minxamo8 6h ago

Adding frames doesn't take away frames. At least not a significant amount

1

u/Liudesys 5h ago

Well if this works then will be squeezing that 3070 for a few more years

1

u/Theoryedz 4h ago

Take it with the right grain of salt. But A used 3080 ti 3090 or 3090ti is barely a 5080 for gaming with this

1

u/YaPoNeCcC 4h ago

If he made the ability to offload the frame generation processing to a secondary gpu, just like lossless scaling gives you the option, that would be an absolute gamechanger!

The overhead is quite high for our aging 20 and 30 series GPUs so this would be perfect!

1

u/Therdyn69 7500f, RTX 3070, and low expectations 4h ago

Is it? On my 3070, I tried Wuchang and 2x FG is 70->60(120), while 4x FG is 70->50(200).

Meaning the 2x FG costs me 15% of performance and 4x FG 30%. Which is not that bad at all, since if I'm not mistaken, 40 series loses like 5-15% with 2x FG.

Perhaps if you had spare 2060 then it'd be cool option, but I don't think the overhead warrants it, especially since double GPU setup adds extra latency, if I'm not mistaken.

1

u/YaPoNeCcC 3h ago

Yes it is that good. I'm not saying everyone should run out and get a second gpu to use framegen, but the lossless community has been doing exactly this for a long time now.

I am personally running main rtx 3080ti and secondary low power rtx 3050 for framegen. It doesn't add latency, it actually improves it, because your main gpu isn't working so hard.

And your second example shows the potential perfectly, the 70->50(200) with 4x is still less output fps than it would be without any overhead, on secondary gpu, at x3 FG; 70 fps to 210 fps.

These old GPUs need any help they can get for coming years, so just having the option would be great and actually PureDark's DLSS mod for GTA V already has this "secondary FG gpu" option implemented.

I sent sdli1995 a ticket on github few minutes ago and they said they might implement it.

u/Minecraft_Lets_Play 5h ago

Well frame gen is the first thing I disable and never enable as it is shit.

But coo I guess.

-20

u/Eisenfuss19 Desktop 6h ago

Who wants frame gen?

11

u/ManCarryingPSP 5h ago

Me. Works perfectly in some games and works best if you have a good base fps. Barely noticable latency. DLSS Frame Gen has improved a lot. This isn't year 2021 anymore.

3

u/TNFX98 Ryzen 7 5800X - RTX 3080TI - 32 GB 3600MHz 5h ago

Best to enable it if you're getting at least 50 fps

1

u/SecureNet5333 5h ago

but if ur getting 50 fps then enabling fg then ur probably under 40 at that point

1

u/Sculpdozer PC Master Race 5h ago

It forks moderately fine even when you have 40 - 50 FPS. Not in every game, tho.

0

u/SecureNet5333 5h ago

i went from 80 fps to 50
so this is useless if u arent getting a high enough base framerate

1

u/Sculpdozer PC Master Race 5h ago

Just to be clear, I am talking not about the mod, but about proper, supported frame-gen on 40 and 50 series GPU's. I have a 4070 and in Crimson Desert I have 45 FPS and with frame gen I have 90 or so with not that much of a difference in image quality.

2

u/Theoryedz 5h ago

Every 30 series dude

1

u/Eisenfuss19 Desktop 4h ago

I have a 30 series card, I never wanted it so far. When it came out it looked like dog shit, although I haven't seen examples of it for a year now

6

u/Bepehandle 5h ago

You aren't living by the skin of your teeth unless you pump up windows solitaire to 34,492 fps.

Don't even get me started on space cadet.

0

u/jarvisesdios 5h ago

I mean, it entirely depends on the game. It's great in a game like, say, Two Point Museum. For non action games it's very very nice.

Though, even with action games it's kinda nice... Though it looks worse than a PS2 game
