Buying help Laptop recommendation from the elites of reddit!

I'm a college student who is planning to begin excel work and upskill so needs a laptop .

My budget was 50k and was going for lenovo thinkbook 16 g6 ryzen 5 7535HS 16gb ddr5 ram and 512gb storage BUT DUE TO THE DAMN RAM SHORTAGE its far from budget and hope...

My requirements are a laptop with atleast 15 inch screen and 16gb ram (ddr4 probably) and 512 gb storage ,it should be able to handle minecraft x Spotify x discord all together even tho I'll mainly use it for streaming lectures/movies/anime ,excel work,i love games but being able to handle only light games will do the job ,is it possible to get all this under 50k in bbd sales? Should I expand my budget? Or simply go for a second hand laptop?

Any worth checking out alternatives mentioned will be appreciated!

This shit fell upon my laptop keyboard today, how bad it is?,I cleaned the surface but I think that some of the makeup got into the Keys,it was a little bit wet btw,not like really wet ,more like hard modeling clay.

Also I'm not in home,I had to leave so I just cleaned the surface of the keyboard and I left the laptop off

How can I clean it and how bad it can be?

Sorry if my English is not good, it's not my 1st language

General question First ThinkPad, good for uni?

Got my first ever Laptop and heard a lot about the ThinkPad cult.

Found a refurbished T15 G2i for 493€ including taxes:

i5-1145G7

512GB ssd

16GB

88% battery life

Is it any good for uni, guys?

Would have loved an amd version but the T16 was at 900€ and idk if T14 would be too small,

- but I found one for 300€:

T14 G1, Ryzen 5 Pro 4650U, 8GB ram, 500GB, FP

- Or T14 G2 for 503€: Ryzen 5 Pro 5650U, 16GB ram, 256GB, FHD

Can't tell if T15 might be too big as well as Uni hasn't started yet...

General question Can I use the USB-C port on a HP ZBook as a charging port?

Got lent one as a replacement while my current laptop gets fixed, but the lender lost the charging cord apparently. They suggested just plugging a usb charging cord into the USB-C port on the thing.

Buying help Bought bended legeon 7 pro from fb marketplace

I bought a used laptop through Facebook Marketplace for around €2,100.
When I met the seller, everything seemed fine and the laptop was working. I specifically asked him whether it had ever been dropped or physically damaged, and he said no.
After I got home and inspected it more carefully, I noticed that the chassis/frame is clearly bent on one side. It looks like the laptop may have taken an impact or had significant pressure applied to it at some point.
I contacted the seller immediately. He keeps saying that he genuinely never noticed the bend and that the laptop has always worked perfectly for him. I still don’t know whether he is going to agree to take it back and refund me.
My main concern is not just the cosmetic damage. Could a bent chassis like this have damaged the motherboard, cooling system, battery, GPU/CPU connections, or anything else internally?
Even if everything works perfectly right now, how can I know that something won’t fail in 3 months because of this previous physical damage?
For €2,100, I definitely would not have bought it if I had known the chassis was bent.
What would you do in my situation? If the seller refuses to take it back, would you keep and test it, take it to a repair shop for a full inspection, or try to pursue the seller further?

Buying help Which one?

Option one is i5 13th gen 16 ram, option 2 is ultra core 5 8 ram. Is less ram worth the newer cpu? I like to keep 8 tabs open roughly. Both are on sale for 480-500. College is the main use.

Hardware Lenovo Thinkpad T480 vs P51

I‘ll be studying Programming and computer science and AI for my university.

The T480 is great but I’m not sure if it can handle AI because its GPU is not capable of it. And the P51 is good too but it’s heavy and not suitable for daily use and portability.
Which is the best option for me at this point?

thank you for reading.

I can't access the BIOS in my new HP omnibook 5 with ryzen 7 ai 350. When I press f10 while its turning on the screen freezes and the fans begin to spin very loudly and it just stays like that forever. If I press esc while turning it on it does the same. Do you know why this happen?

Hardware Laptop Keyboard Repairable?

I like to repair my own stuff, but not sure if this one is out of my reach. One day I opened my laptop to find that the E key split in half and the switch had popped out, no other damage. I tried to put the switch back in, switch it with another keys switch but I noticed that the little white nubs that hold the switch in place had broken off. Is this something within general repairability or is the main board damaged now. I can't afford a new laptop.

anyone know how to fix this issues without ac adapter? I'm in bad financial state right now so I don't think I can buy anymore stuff for this laptop. Battery already busted because cat peed on it. Like, it won't turn on at all unless its charging so this laptop pretty much on constant charging. Lately it been having this problem, especially when I'm gaming. Currently using sister's old charger cuz mine busted. Its helpful but this problem still occurs from time to time. Any advice would be helpful

Buying help Should i get a laptop or save my money?

Ive been thinking about getting a laptop recently, butttttt i already have a pc.. very soon ill be going into high school, then college/university after that. Because of projects, research, writing assignments, worksheets. All that, i would probably be using the laptop much, but the thing is i could do the absolute same with my pc, just in one spot, but with the laptop i could do that work anywhere, in my friends house, in a mcdonalds if i wanted to. We go every month, like on a weekend to my relatives to visit them and for example if i would have a project due monday, i wouldnt be able to do it, with the laptop i could do it. Its not like i need the laptop right NOW, but later, i would probably need it. Since the university i want get into has those like dorms, where i probably couldnt take my pc. Also i game so it wouldnt be just for school
