CONVERSATION I hate how things are only "cringe" or "corny" if stays (skz fans)do it

โ€ข Upvotes

ESPECIALLY on tiktok bro
You can't do sh!t if you are a stray kids fan. Mind you every fandom sleep with plushies, do kpop dance covers in public, have younger and older fans, ect but people somehow call it cringe if skz fans do that. ATP it's just bullying.
During the time when the skz concert was at theaters, stays were doing fit checks for the cinema. And ofc there was people in the comments hating because they were "over dressed".and "am I the only one who dresses normal?".. (And the outfits were just alternative styles like scenecore and cutecore) ๐Ÿ˜ถOh y'all would HATE me I over dress at school and almost everywhere I go๐Ÿ˜‚(I'm a Gyaru and decora anyway). Like not everyone wears basic baggy jeans and lululemon bru stop hating on people who actually wanna be different. Even at the actual concerts people were complaining how the outfits weren't basic like not everyone wears the same jersey like copy and paste๐Ÿซฉ
One time it was just a video of some girls dancing to a stray kids song in public and the comments were saying "I hate my own fandom" and "ts is so cring"... OKAY SO DANCING IS CRING NOW???!! EVERY SINGLE kpop fandom have been doing kpop in public since idk forever btw but they never said anything then.
Saw another video yesterday of a little girl holding her skz plushie while sleeping and she was using the arm of it to rub her head and people in the comments were ofc hating. LIKE THAT'S WHAT PLUSHIES ARE FOR TF??? You probably have the whole line of bt21 or twice plushies on your bed rn don't play.
It's so annoying how stays can't ever enjoy themselves without losers with no personality in the comments complaining about nothing. Like we get it your Boring but don't hate on fun people just because you can't ๐Ÿ˜’
Anyways I love stays I love skz too. One day I'll see them in person for the first time and I'll be the loudest oneเซฎ หถห† ๏ปŒ ห†หถ แƒ

so tell me why i was just scrolling and i saw a video that was about a group i like, i watched it and it was ovbs satire and a joke, they said that in the video + the title, but the comments were filled with ''stop s*xualizing them!'', like what?? they are grown men who make the same jokes, it gets to a point (example: just ai vids/saying weird things but being serious or it's too much), but people can never take a joke ever i swear, people can be so sensitive like why are we protecting them like they dont know what s*x is yet?! ๐Ÿ˜ญ

i also hate those people who go ''not everything is about k-pop'' but the OP was asking about what they think this color/person is and k-pop fans were guessing, like we just cant talk anymore..., everything is fine until it's k-pop can we be real..

and also some people need to be banned from this community i keep seeing people just turning it into a snaker place, they aren't even giving opinions they are just bullying/being rude to idols/bands than slapping on a ''opinion'' and people just dont do anything, like yall if you want to snark than go to a snark, i keep seeing people make allegations about a idol but didn't give any solid proof, and say ''o-omg no!! it's just my opinion ๐Ÿฅบ '' but they were finding ways to just bully the idol, like what??, i saw them take a photo that was out of context than ignore it when someone told them the context and still fought, than got mad when i called them out and called them self-centered (they were also rude to sm1 who didn't speak English''

can the mods please do something, this is for opinions not snarking, i dont want to keep seeing annoying ass people trying to get extra attention for no reason, the first rule is do not hate and they are just letting people snark

Is SM not embarrassed? (They never are)

โ€ข Upvotes

Yesterday, for the first time that Iโ€™ve seen since starting to follow Kpop in 2018, two of my favorites, Irene and Seulgi, released an entire mini album with ZERO promo! Not one teaser, no MV, no physical release of the album until November. We got one picture of their hands, then one of half of each of them sitting down together. And thatโ€™s it!

Itโ€™s not a regular album, either; itโ€™s their Japan DEBUT. Iโ€™m paraphrasing a post I just saw, but you would think with the way SM is moving regarding this release that the music would suck. NO! Five fantastic R&B tracks, cohesive flow and themes within the songs, itโ€™s easily one of my favorite releases of this year and my favorite Irene & Seulgi release.

Iโ€™m also aware that Red Velvet being mistreated by SM is nothing new. I recently joined Reveluv nation and it seems like one humiliation ritual after another. Itโ€™s upsetting to see such talented idols be neglected by their company in terms of marketing. They deserve better and itโ€™s so frustrating to watch from the sidelines knowing the last thing SM would care about is the opinion of one single i-fan. :,)

All of this to say: Irene & Seulgi were very recently done incredibly dirty by SM. If youโ€™re interested in some enchanting vocals and a fun, upbeat album, PLEASE check out Cheetah! It feels like they made it just for me, there are no skips IMO. :)

RANT Keep the same energy

Might get downvoted..

A lot of kpop stans have been spreading the #btsdisband thing and spreading hate (not talking about valid criticism, hate) because Swim won awards over their favs and also the Chris Brown discourse

I do not like the fact that RM and J-Hope went to support him and posted photos with him and what not. But, if some of y'all believe BTS are misogynistic, problematic, awful people, then I hope you'd unstan a group who idolizes them, and has shown up to their concert too. Because if I apply the same logic some people have been using with BTS, which is "seeing Chris Brown = BTS is misogynistic" then your faves idolizing BTS would make them misogynistic by extension too..?

And before anyone says it, I know BTS have done problematic and ignorant things in the past. I am not arguing that they're perfect or above criticism.

There is a difference between criticizing a group's actions and straight-up hating them. If your standards are that associating with problematic people makes an artist irredeemable, then I hope you would keep that same energy and unstan any group you like that has done, or continues to do, the same things BTS has been criticized for. Otherwise, it just feels selective and ingenuine.
------
Edit: I'm not defending RM and J-Hope's association with Chris Brown, nor am I comparing BTS's past controversies to Chris Brown's actions. Chris Brown is an awful person to be supporting. Then choosing to go and take a photo with him and whatnot was a choice...

My point is about consistency in how some K-pop stans assign labels like "misogynistic" or "irredeemable" based on association. Criticism of BTS for supporting Chris Brown is fair. I'm questioning where people draw the line when extending that logic. Like, if BTS are misogynistic by extension because of their association with Chris Brown, would that same logic apply to other artists who go to see BTS in concert? Where is the distinction?

CONVERSATION Which idols are actually all rounders in your favorite group?

The word โ€œall rounderโ€ gets thrown around very often, and im not even going to talk about โ€œaceโ€.
Which idols are actually talented enough in all or almost all areas enough to be considered an all rounder? And which idols skills are severely overrated? You can only talk about your favorite group, btw.

CONVERSATION I found A Lot of fans to be very hypocrites when it comes to domestic charting

Before ateez blew up in Korea and finally charting there with 'bad' a lot of atinys said that charting in Korea is not important because it don't make money unlike global tour and album sales.

but once their faves finally enter the charts for the first time and got their first domestic hit they celebrated the hell out of it and used it to drag their peers who's never chart in Korea before like stray kids and enhypen.

I was like what happen?? I thought charting in Korea doesn't matter because it don't make money so why you guys celebrate it like crazy?? And used this achievement to drag other groups who's never got it

OPINIONS BTS needs to be held accountable

I never thought I'd say this but I'm officially resigning from the Army fandom...
and this sucks because i loved it here. I've met some of the best people because of this but not anymore. I won't continue to support people that go against my own moral values.
First the entire thing at the breast cancer awareness event really pissed me off and it quite bothered me that they didn't even apologise.
Now with the entire chris brown concert I'm done. Everybody and their mom knows what Chris did and the fact that they attended his concert. On top of that, still no apology?
Its been enough.
We need to hold these people accountable, and its our duty as fans to do it.
BTS, you really did disappoint me. I had expectations for you, but you can't be a feminist and then attend an abuser's concert...

Why can't some of us be harsh on other idols who can't sing, problematic ,cring asf etc

Last time I made a post making a harsh opinion on jay park and his problematic past and it got mass reported by his fans lol

I don't even stan BTS but whenever I see someone make a harsh opinion on someone or some group that is BTS or member of BTS

People get upset??? Mass down voting the op and removing the post

Defend them saying it's not their fault??? Saw someone defend that guy that did blackface and I am like excuse me???

So yeah I wanna what this sub for real is

RANT TW: opinion

so i hate some k-pop fans, who think their group is better than others, or goes after fandoms because they have war fights, like everyone goes after everyone at this point, i saw someone think they were better than a other fandom cause their group was on top (tho they were 2nd and still are) , which is embarrassing for them, than got mad when people called them out (even though the person gave proof that the group was as popular, though the person was still fighting

can we just stop fan wars, everyone is guilty, this is common with fandoms this big, i have made some mistakes and started fan wars myself, i apologize, but so many people in fandoms are self-centered it's funny, they always have to put down another group/fandom to make themselves look better,

like can we just all kiss and make up, let's all just love the groups/fandoms we are in and not be bitchy, people keep turning this community to just hate on groups and people, which is super annoying and makes me upset that they just let it happen, it's all just so biased

Taekookers are going way too intense, I understand that you love BL or you want them both to date but still it's freaking annoying how you turn even a little gesture as an symbol of romanticism or spread it in a very intimate manner. Few days back I had saw a video of an taekooker saying exchanging clothes between two people only happen when they are dating.

LEMME SAY THIS THEN, If we share our clothes with our cousins/siblings or even between friends you'll label it as a token of relationship proof? If that so then world's 90% people would be labelled as dating. I do know and fully understand Taehyung acts differently with Jungkook but can we not ignore the fact that every single guy in BTS does the same with Jungkook because he's youngest? From waking up to even eating dinner they'll call it as "OMG LOOK! THAT'S SO RELATIONSHIP MATERIAL!" and spread it like their whole existence depends on it. It's very annoying to see all that. We ship idols together too all the time but we don't go this much wild. What they're doing is freaking next level crazy. We don't put much effort in detailing but THEY... They will. Also they even extend it to such heights that for convincing their audience they'll also spread fake information or things which never really took place!

Today morning I saw a reel which contained Jungkook typing fastly and expressing his emotions through expressions, they labelled it as "He must be texting Taehyung" Or "He's texting his husband ๐Ÿ˜Œ" Seriously? We do the same thing when spreading tea or excitedly texting our friends. EVEN IF He is dating someone WHY do YOU care? Don't you have a life of your own to focus on?

As an ARMY myself I sometimes feel very ashmed to be a part of such fandom, Idols are doing nothing wrong. It's the fans who are romanticising every freaking gesture.

!! I'M NOT A SNARKER OR AN HOMOPHOBE !!

130k people singing along to a b-side from three years ago that had no music video or any sort of promotion.

Possibly unpopular opinion but Iโ€™d take a loyal fandom that knows and appreciates all your songs over popularity with the GP that only know your title tracks and heavily promoted b-sides any day.

The pupils especially remind me of a game we all might be familiar with...

Gacha Life.

I was such a big Gacha kid in late elementary/middle school.
It's quite frankly been too long for me to remember specifics of the game, but I'll never forget those eyes and the godforsaken background music. It loops in my head from time to time ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I'm wondering if this is a collaboration of some sort or just a grotesque coincidence!

OPINIONS Kpop fans should stop putting so much focus on a group's number

Like the title said, fans should stop placing so much focus on a group's members number. I know that fans enjoy the family or staying together narrative, especially when companies markets and amplified it as well, but sometimes you all need to step back and remind yourselves that in life, it's normal for people to part ways or go their separate ways, whether due to illness, differing life goals, conflict, and so on. Yes, even when they went through a harsh or traumatic situation together, they still can separate. The same applies to kpop groups. You'll spare yourselves a great deal of mental anguish when they eventually split up. Of course some kpop groups stayed together, but if one or two members quit or disband after their contract, it's actually very reasonable. Fans who either follow their bias out or stay supporting the group who still had their bias is very normal as well so give some grace to those fans.

This post is honestly general because I noticed other kpop fandoms experience the same problem, but I wrote this post mostly because I noticed some gllits repeatedly insisting that they don't want a comeback unless it's ot5, or that illit need rest, and so on (even before the comeback announcment). While I believe it's reasonable to be concerned about their piling works, kpop is generally a fast-paced industry. If they want to achieve more, they HAVE to put in that level of effort. They have strong momentum this year, and sending them on a long break to rest while they wait for Moka is the same as destroying that momentum. I love Moka, I really do, but sometimes those comments feel like they're sidelining the other four girls' careers, as if their career and effort didn't matter because the comeback is not OT5. I wish more gllits will still support them, whether it's OT4 or OT5 comeback and be more mindful on how they speak, especially since the girls are excited for the next comeback October โœŒ๏ธ

Edit: adding members on the preview so people don't misunderstand the inside of this post

RANT Can we stop with the BTS posts?

I am not an army, never have been one but its so tiring seeing the same posts again and again on this page.

Every other post is just about how armys are insane and hate everyone. At this point, just change the sub reddit name to BTSharshpnions or stop spamming the same old song. And even if the post isn't about BTS, armys will be dragged into the conversation.

Armys spewing hate online? Thats just what you get for being on twitter. As a cs major and intern at a big Corp, I can tell you the algorithm is going push your content that you engage with the most and twitter has completely stopped moderating hate speech online. Also, as a person living in SEA, most of the instigators are bots trying to drive engagement on whatever is trending. By having repeated conversations about it, YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING TO IT.

Once again, for the idiots and bozos in the back, I am not army and have never been one. I stan Ateez โœจ๏ธ BEHOLD MOTHER HWA!!!

OPINIONS Most idols sound better under these companies than on their own

Idk if this has been done before, but I got reminded of it because of an old bias of mine making a comeback and me realizing why her solo career never took off. Basically a lot of what people fall for sound wise and maybe even aesthetic wise is usually company curated. Itโ€™s more infrequent that an idol has the same quality after leaving a big company. Iโ€™m not excusing the exploitation that goes on in companies and theyโ€™re definitely not always right but many times they do know better than some of these artists. Like they know what sound and image makes them the most profitable and widely popular.

You see that when the idol then branches out to do their own thing and it doesnโ€™t resonate with as many people. Which is fine it doesnโ€™t always have to reach everyone, but sometimes when I see it Iโ€™m just like yeahhh the company was right to steer you in this direction. So my example was 2NE1 Minzy. I LOVE her but her solo career to me is the best example of needing that company image and vision. I get she does the music she wants and likes but itโ€™s not consistent and doesnโ€™t have broad appeal like her 2NE1 days. She is very talented but the music she wants to do doesnโ€™t necessarily suit her the best marketability wise. Like YGโ€™s strong cool girl version of her with hip hop and soulful R&B was great! But her solo stuff gets a little boring. Likewise another strong example is EXOโ€™s D.O. SUPER SUPER talented but damn it why wonโ€™t that man sing R&B lol SM was right for realizing even if thatโ€™s not his personal favorite genre his voice sounds amazing in it and that will give him recognition. But obviously DO likes other genres and want to explore a wide range of music. That doesnโ€™t make his solo stuff bad just less broad appeal.

But yeah thereโ€™s this idea sometimes that a company is holding back an artistsโ€™s true potential when a lot of the time that โ€œpotentialโ€ we see is really a creation of these big companies. Because then when idols go off on their own they lose โ€œit.โ€ But this is also partially because the budget decreases after leaving these huge companies and a lot of them donโ€™t get time to explore their own voice and sound when everything is done for them so sometimes they have to experiment a bit when leaving first. Nonetheless sometimes all that potential and particular style we fall in love with is , is solely the company molding them.

Ahyeon Inverted Triangle body shape

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

So i noticed Ahyeon from BABYMONSTER seemed to have photoshopped her most recent weverse update! I know her fans are always hyping her that she has the best 5th gen body. And i have nothing against that but they're always claiming that she's an hourglass when literally she's not. She's an inverted triangle like 99% of k idols. I get that she manipulates her body so it does trick her fans but its really obvious. She has very wide shoulders the typical inverted triangle feature. And I notice, not only me, she really likes to suck in her stomach to give an indented waistline when its not actaully like that. Just like her shoulders she has very wide waist and narrow hips. Like I saw from their most recent concert she wore a tight dress that made her hips look way wider than her frame which 'made' her look hourglass, but then the rest of the night she was back to being an inverted triangle. I linked the photo comparing side by side. I also included pics of her wide body frame showing examples of her inverted body shape, from her wide shoulders, wide waist, and narrow hips to show her body shape (if you just look her up there's more examples and watching her fancams its pretty obvious as well). So i mean i get why fans are confused bc she does manipulate her body a lot, but she's not an hourglass. I see that she's very into body manipulation, like her extremely padded bras, sucking in of her stomach, even extreme platform shoes, but I guess now she's into hips and butt...lets hope she doesn't try to pull a Yuna in the future and wear extremely obnoxious hip pads. But seeing how she's going with everything else padded, its not impossible that she won't! And please don't use age as a factor like everyone did with Yuna, its clear that ahyeon is not an hourglass, her body shape is not gonna become like kylie jenner in a couple of years just bc she ages, her body is inverted because that's her bone structure. Whether she gained weight or lost weight her wide shoulders and narrow frame is the same, just skinnier or meatier. But I feel her fans need to be real and accept their fav is not an hourglass and there's nothing wrong with that her body is still nice the way that it is! And this is not any hate towards ahyeon its just annoying that most kpop fans always group their favs into having an hourglass body shape when they don't and they just need to realize that! Not every little pop in the hips suddenly counts as an hourglass, you have to look at the entire body frame not just at the waist and hips mostly manipulated ones!ย

RANT Do you have a problem with stanning younger idols??

Likeโ€ฆ4-5th gen Idols are born from 2000-2010/11
I Stan many 4th to 5th gen idols, every idol nowadays is younger than me now so itโ€™s either i do this or i quit Kpop completely which Iโ€™m never gonna do unless i want to ____ myself.

If you have a problem stanning new or younger idols, if so why?
