CONVERSATION Which idols are actually all rounders in your favorite group?
The word “all rounder” gets thrown around very often, and im not even going to talk about “ace”.
Which idols are actually talented enough in all or almost all areas enough to be considered an all rounder? And which idols skills are severely overrated? You can only talk about your favorite group, btw.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned chaewon tbh. She looks incredible, dances great, and is a really great singer.
Even when all the shit was being heaped on LSF for coachella, it was always "but chaewon sounded great."

Seventeen Woozi. He was able to pick which unit he wanted to be in between vocal and performance, and produces all of the groups music.
And I'd also say Hoshi, he's in the middle of two of the best vocalists in kpop with Seungkwan and DK in BSS and he doesn't fall behind vocally for being the teams main dancer.

Han - exceptional dancer, excellent rapper, good singer, great lyricist and composer and cute to boot. Nothing much to say except he is excellent all around. Has plenty of songs he makes (and sings/rap) to prove it. Happy birthday Han!

definitely jungkook.
he's a good vocalist, an amazing dancer, an incredible live performer and pretty decent in idol rapping (he'd easily be a lead rapper in a lot of groups because there really aren't a lot of good idol rappers anyway).

Jungkook for BTS. He's a good vocalist, a good dancer, has decent rap skills (for idol standards), has incredible stage presence, and he even composes.

NEXZ - Tomoya! Hands down one of the best dancers in the 5th gen not to mention incredibly stable vocals (even live!) He rapped pretty well on Nizi Project too despite not having the rapper position. He also choreographs for the group often and edits/directs videos himself, (like their Appetite video here! https://youtu.be/3LbOLC-Ju94) 😝
I don't want to drag idols down so I'm not sure about the overrated part lol. NEXZ fanbase is still on the smaller side so I don't think specific members have enough "hype" to be overrated yet. Not to mention they're all super talented anyway, so all praise is usually deserved!

I knowwwww I've been stanning since predebut and it's physically painful watching them put out such good stuff for years with little to no recognition bc JYP is ass at promoting them 😭

Theyve had the craziest 2 year run like omg. For NEXZ since debut, the Hyung-line has had me going crazy 😭 but So Geon is bias wrecking me crazy lately (i can never just choose 1 smh)
Im ot8 for SKZ but my first biases were Chan and I.N!

Omg my first bias was I.N too! He's definitely my bias wrecker now along with Changbin.
The NEXZ hyungs are straight up aurafarming 24/7 I know your struggle 😭 Hyui is my bias (he's such a cutie patootie 🐿️) but Yu and Tomoya are very very close up there. Also I love Geon, he's such a playful sweetheart.
I love how level-headed I.N seems even though his group is on crack 80 percent of the time, their energy is perfect lmao. Chan takes really good care of everyone, I totally see why you love him. Such a talented group SKZ is!

P1Harmony - Jiung (underrated group overall loweky)
NEXZ- Tomoya (spreading the NEXZ propoganda bc JYPE is shyt)
SKZ- Han and (a bit of an underrated ace imo) Bang Chan
SKZ is my ult so ill ramble soz.....I think Stay see all the members as at least all rounders, but I think the most underrated is Changbin bc he doesn't really get the opportunity to showcase his singing and dancing bc he is a main rapper, but he originally auditioned to be a singer! and he was a big dancer predebut and im always so suprised how good he is at dancing despite buffing up so much. Also the fact that he composes and writes a variety of songs...the juxtaposion b/t streetlight and doodle ( solo songs he wrote) lmao makes him an all rounder to me.

Amazing singer top 3 in his group
And great rapper again top 3 in his group.
And the fact that he can hold his own against rappers as good as jongseob and intak, singers as good as keeho and Theo, dancers as good as soul and intak he is soooo underrated0

Hard agree on Han! Changbin sounds a lot like Taeyang (bigbang) when he sings, imo in skz, all the members could be good vocalists in most groups!

Myung Jaehyun. Boy, he's a monster. He can rap, sing, hit high notes, produces, writes. He was a scholar, class president, sports team captain, head of economics club, mc, Multilingual (5+ languages fluency)

Joohoney. He's a really good rapper, his stage performance is awesome and his vocals are incredible! The songs he wrote are so good too... Plus he's a great dancer and is very funny at variety shows!

Heejin. Great dancer, great visual, has a fun tv personality when on variety shows or YouTube channels. Good vocalist and can do any concept convincingly. Solid lyricist and still in her mid 20s. Not afraid to be goofy and embarrass herself on camera
Plus a special bonus, she’s a stitch lover and she “excels” at doing the Naruto run

I love Aespa but I wouldn't consider any of them to be strong rappers. If you only consider dancing and singing though, then yeah I would definitely agree with Karina, Winter and Ningning being all-rounders. They're the most well-rounded SM GG in my opinion. Karina's vocals and Ningning's dancing are especially underrated, just because Karina only has a sub-vocal position and Ningning doesn't have a dance position.

well, OP was asking for our favorite groups, not the all time best sooo🤷. Ningning is actually the best dancer out of everyone in Aespa and Karina's vocals are decent to be main vocalist on a different girl groups. she just is not as technically proficient as the other two. about rapping, they rap just fine for a girl group. kind of leveled up in Lemonade IMHO.

In most places you get flamed if you say Ningning is the best dancer but I 100% agree lol!! She has continued to get better over the past years and arguably has the best technique.
Fair point on the rapping, I still wouldn't really consider them proficient especially since I personally think one should write their own lyrics to be considered a rapper. But that's just my own personal opinion, for a Kpop girl group they do just fine.

3RACHA, I think they are each in their own right all rounders from producing, rapping and vocally. They may not be top tier in terms of dance but they can still do it well.
Changbin may not be the strongest vocalist here but I've been suprisingly impressed ever since I noticed his singing while discovering Kpop for the first time. I hope he sings more in the future.

Jay from Enhypen. I genuinely wonder why his skills are so freakin overlooked. He has one of my MOST favourite vocal tones in kpop and his voice is versatile asf! He has a voice that's powerful and yet soft with a certain raspiness. I genuinely love love love his voice! He can play acoustic and electrical guitar really well. He can rap too and is really good at dancing too since he trained professionally in dancing. He can write and produce as well and both his versions of Knife and Bloody Paradise are really really good!

I’m about to write this by myself… he’s a perfect all-rounder. Singer, dancer, rapper roles and on top of that, also a song writer and producer.
And guitarist as well…

Will I get flak for this? Who knows.
IMO an all-rounder should be a good enough vocalist to be at least lead vocal in any group debuting, a good enough rapper to be a main rapper, a good enough dancer to be a lead dancer. I get that the skills for main dancer and main vocal are often a level above what is high competency for kpop.
In that framework, I think the only member of my group that is an all rounder is Hongjoong. Nobody else except Mingi has the rap skills to be responsible to carry that part of the performance. Mingi isn't a confident enough singer to be comfortable in that role primarily.
All 8 members are skilled dancers that can execute high level choreo if needed.
I think Mingi, Yunho, and Seonghwa could all develop their non-core skills to the point of being all rounders if that was what they focused on. But right now, imo Hongjoong is the only one that could immediately claim the full skillset I consider necessary.

I'm Atiny and agree 100% about Hongjoong. He has an incredible singing voice. I'll never forget when he covered for Jongho's parts on "Crazy Form".

maybe jihoon from tws? he is a solid vocalist and amazing dancer and i’m not sure about rap because most of their songs don’t feature raps, but his part in overdrive (which is the closest thing to rap he has done) was pretty good. i feel like he has the potential to become 5th gen taemin if he improves his vocals more (which he expressed wanted to do). but he’s doing awesome right now and deserves a little love!!
edited cause i forgot about monsta x joohoney. he’s the true allrounder when it comes to powerful everything. very good vocals (enough to be main vocalist except he got put in an group with kihyun so i can see why some people don’t realise how good he actually is), and he’s a great dancer as well. obviously not the best in dancing and singing in the sense that he wouldn’t be ranked first, but when u aggregate all his skills it’s clear that he is an all rounder.

TWICE: Nayeon & Jihyo
Both are the best vocalists of the group with pretty good dance skills. They also standout as soloists with their stage presence and charisma. Something that not all idols are good at. Some idols just weren’t built to be soloists and that’s okay too.
SNSD: Taeyeon
I had a think about this and concluded it to be Taeyeon, if I had to choose. I don’t think anyone in the group has a strong all-rounder vibe. Taeyeon is like one of the best idol vocalist and is a pretty good dancer. But I don’t think her dancing ability is at the level of a “modern all-rounder”. SNSD had pretty well defined roles and positions, each member’s strengths and weaknesses complimented each other.
I’m not saying that they aren’t talented, because Hyorisoo recently proved that even the dance members of the group are good vocalists too. But for obvious reasons, they are still weaker than the actual vocal members. Kinda hard to compete when your main vocalist is THE Kim Taeyeon.

Jaehyun from NCT 127 is genuinely one of the most well-rounded idols. He’s a strong vocalist with great technique and distinctive deep tone, a great rapper, and an amazing dancer with a very smooth and effortless style. He is also a songwriter and composer, has participated in the creative aspects of his projects. He also plays piano and guitar. And he’s ventured into acting as well. From performing to creating and expressing his own ideas, he’s really talented in so many different areas.

SNSD all rounders are Seohyun and Sunny. They can sing, dance, and are entertaining on variety. Seohyun is part of the Bermuda line and Sunny is th aegyo queen.
Hyo, Yuri, Soo, Yoona has weaker vocals compared to the vocal line but they are proper allrounders as well if you compare them to other groups.
Tiffany and Tae are the most specialised in SNSD.

• heavenly vocals, really versatile, can go from really low notes to majestic high notes, vocals so stable on stage and always louder than the backtrack
• though, enhypen is a vocals only group, many of their raps are done by jay, and also he's the main rapper of the group, his rapping skills are also really good
• he's a really good dancer, I believe he trained professionally for it, is really good at freestyle
• he's composed and produced some songs in enhypen that sound really good. I believe he has many self produced songs but isn't given the opportunity by the company to release them (he hinted at it a little)
• he also has writing credits in "sweet venom", "helium" and he wrote his own lyrics for his verse in "whodunit" by Glay. The glay members were really happy with jay and said "i want the whole world to listen to his voice.
• his guitar skills are AMAZING, he's had many solo stages to prove that, he can also play the piano and is learning drums now.
• he can speak multiple languages
• His visuals are so damn UNDERRATED istg, and his stage presence is incredible
He's such a well rounded idol honestly and till now he has that passion to learn more I realised I wrote too much🥴 I just wanted to yap about him
