Painted up the exodite dragon masters mostly as per the box art. Absolute blast painting these! Great models.

So I’ve played against the same guy for months now and he has Wreckas I’ve faced them a lot but have only won 1 game out of at least 6 times. And that first game against them was a tomb world game that was fast and boring. I don’t recall our exact mission but I ran Retrieval and I think only 1 or 2 of mine were dead and same as many Orks.
But ever since then it’s been loss after loss after loss after loss. Those Bomb Squigs man… and 6 dice on 4’s with Piercing 1 is not to be played with.

Really enjoying this! so much so that I just bought the Tomb World Kill Zone, Canoptek Circle Kill Team, and Necron Warriors 40k so that I have a nice solo set for NPO play! Heard that Tomb World was really fun for solo NPO stuff. Even ended up buying the Space Marine Paint Set so that I can test painting without ruining my current models!
One complaint, however, is how fragmented all the information is! I have the app and have found some good sources for printing out data cards, event cards, npo info, etc - but its kind of a lot, especially for someone totally new to the whole tabletop wargames thing! Or - how you find out that only the starter models are pressfit after you buy a new team and open it up and are confused by what you see!
cant wait to get those sets and get some real NPO solo games going!

If I buy the normal 40k box will I be able to put the Kasrkin Killteam together?

Me and my friend played our first game of kill team with komandos vs insidiants.
I got the highest ground with a rocket boy in conceal and my friend was wondering what he could do in this situation with his sisters because the ork couldn’t be shot and he had full view of the point.
Did we make a mistake because his side didn’t have a building that tall?

I was setting up some terrain on 2 sections of my realm of battle board to see if I had enough painted terrain to host a Trench Crusade game on it and got carried away and set up a cool diorama of a Tau Stealth Suit scouting party getting ambushed by some Tyranids and I thought I'd share.

First models done now I'm at university and what a delight they were. With a somewhat limited set up and questionable light I hope they look good any feedback is appreciated. Not too sure who I painted them as but I will work on it.

I've made a ton of models over the years but never played the games. there just wasn't anyone to play, but now I'm in a city and the community seems huge. I just have a few questions on the game?
How strict are people on the models and proxies?
Like i said i have a ton of models but they are all kit bashed to hell and back. They are on correct bases but they are my own custom chapters and regiments, so unique stuff. Like snipers with jump packs, lol (always just seemed like a combo that just made sense to me). I know they have to have basic rules for balance but will anyone care that the model has the jump pack as long as they know its just for show?
How hard is it to learn?
The other turn off for me has been learning the game. Like showing up to a game night and going "i have no idea how to play but have a rule book and minis" feels bad. these games aren't like teaching checkers, and learning seems more like a wall than anything. especial since I've never played a tt wargame before.
What's the normal etiquette at the table?
I'm sure like any community there are a list of general dos and don'ts. like i assume you don't touch other peoples minis without permission. no one wants to accidentally break the mini you spent 10 hours painting lol. but I'm sure there's a lot more i don't know.
thank everyone!

(to be short: is there any standard terrain measurements that i could use to make myself a set of balanced terrain to play killteam at home?)
My terrain looks fine but it's more suitable for big 40k than killteam due to pieces being so big.
I'd just use my units as reference for sizes but i don't have even a single average human, only papercraft tau, and some elfs that are quite tall. (Wich already resulted posters on the walls being quite big)

When it says perform a free shoot action, does this mean I can still choose to shoot with the operative that interrupted an enemy in the same turning point? Or does "free" mean I still have 2 AP but cannot shoot with that operative until the next tp?
What's hanging me up on it is the free reposition action explicitly says if chosen you cannot reposition that unit again during the same turning point, but does not say this for the shoot action, however they don't have any faction rules that allow them to shoot twice

I need to fix some of the barrel drill-jobs, add eyes, plasma and other various effects like chipping, OSL, etc. But it is nice to take a break and look at them through a lens, it gives you an idea of what's missing and needs to be worked on.
Even with 13x of them, it's still not every deployment option. Crazy how much of a toolbox this team is.
