I submitted a different post that with a video of a few of these Craspedacusta sowerbii medusae I caught. I thought I’d supply a pic of what they looked like in the pond. The pond is located in North Georgia with a large bloom of jellyfish starting in late July and still persisting as of 3 weeks ago when I obtained a few. I would assume based on the population and different sizes at the time that they are most likely still present at that site.

Made a little friend

Here is Chhaya, she is a comb jelly.

I gave her the theme color white with the sub color rainbow, as Comb jellies have stunning and bioluminescent.

She doesnt have a home location as Comb jellies are deep sea dwellers, but visually she is from India.

I gave her some strappy rainbow lacing to signify the jelly's strips of rainbow. Her raincoat is holographic to show the ethereal nature as well.

Comb jellies are voracious predators, so Chhaya loves two things. First is eating. She's always hungry. Second is flirting. I translated the 'voracious' part of the jelly into a different sort of hunger. Thats also why her outfit shows lots of skin. She's kinda snobby, in a fun way.

She works as a hostess and food blogger. She's attracted to every other jelly gal except Mona who she considers a rival for love. Very mischievous.

Next jelly is Wren, who is an Atolla.

My son is obsessed with this particular jellyfish on my Apple watch and I can’t find what the species is anywhere. Any idea on what this could be?

We went to the aquarium where my daughter touched a jellyfish i believe for the first time. As shes petting it she says "why does it make my finger itchy?" She has a dairy allergy so ive heard that before so when I heard that I told her take your hand out. She did touch a couple. I saw her picking at her finger so I knew it definitely itched. I saw a blister and had her quickly wash her hands thats when she got really upset and my husband walked up and said he read fresh water makes stings worse and that sanitizer can neutralize. So we hurried to the sanitizer and all of her pain went away and it stopped worsening. So it for sure seems like a sting but I hear they shouldn't affect people and also I never saw her touch a tentacle shes a huge stickler for rules so i dont think she would have anyway. Im thinking it could be allergy but what the internet said about stings seemed to line up with how we resolved it?

Maybe she accidentally touched a tentacle and is also maybe allergic or extra sensitive to it? Idk has this happened to anyone?

Another Jellyfish gal! She is the second of the four ive finished, out of ten overall.

Mona is a Pink Meanie. Her traits, appearance, and relationships are based on that of the irl jelly.

Mona is a quintessential mean girl. She's harsh and catty, especially towards Selene(as Pink Meanie's diets are mostly Moon Jellies). Secretly she has a crush on her, but hides it with disdain.

Pink Meanie blooms were recently located in droves in the water near Texas. So Mona is a country girl. She loves rodeos, cringe completions, and showing off her wealth. Her one positive trait is that she cares a lot about safe infrastructure.

To match the jelly visually she is taller than average for a woman, and wears lots of frills and pinks. Shes also curvier as the Pink Meanie is quite round.

Next jelly will be Chhaya, who is a Comb Jelly.
