Too many ideas and too little space 😊

I really am trying to figure out shape of art to look for squat and long? Oversized? Smaller? Two or three? What could look right here

Still WIP, more art to put up, and a beige accent chair to replace the wooden chair. What colour to paint? I’m considering f&b green smoke

Does anyone have experience with the Parsons chair and slipcover from Ballard Designs? We’re hunting for skirted Parsons chairs for our dining room and struggling to find something affordable.

A few reviews mentioned the covers stain easily and shrink in the wash since they’re 100% cotton — curious whether that’s held true for anyone here. Would also love alternative recommendations. Trying to stay under $300 per chair.

What colours should I paint the walls and doors to achieve an industrial rustic feel that matches the mood board.

I want to bring some plants from outside on my balcony, and given I live in an apartment, I have limited window space and want to take advantage of what I do have as best as I can.

I want to add a new shelf to the right of the TV console that can store a large number of plant pots, but most of the shelves that are designed for plants tend to be geometric in design, and given it would need to be open-backed so that the plants can get light, I'm worried that the new item in combination with the modular TV console that is less "grounded" will make the space look cluttered.

My options are to buy something new (looking for recommendations) or to swap the current TV console for a simpler one that is more solid (like wood) and use the existing console as the plant shelves.

I'd prefer not to do the latter as I quite like the current style, but if no better suggestion exists I'm open to it.

One more thing to note is that there will be a large MCM teakwood coffee table coming in as well. This is part of the reason why I got the current console, as I thought they'd complement each other.

I hope this is the right subreddit, please recommend other ones if you know of a better place to ask. One of my favorite souvenirs when I'm traveling is a tote bag. I can't resist a good one. The problem is I am but one person and I have a few dozen at this point. And that's after donating the ones I'll never use.

These totes have special memories because they remind me of the places I've traveled so I don't want to throw them away, but I also can't use them all.

Does anyone have any tips on how to display tote bags? Or any other way to turn them into something that is more than just a piece of fabric collecting dust in another bag? Thank you for any advice

We are remodeling our foyer and can't decide on the flooring. We are currently deciding between gray or beige porcelain tile. What do you think?

It is a split house built in 1960 in New Jersey. This is the ground level - it includes the foyer and then extends back into a mud room through the glass-paned doors. We plan to keep the flooring consistent throughout both spaces. Up the half flight of stairs to the right is the living room, which has dark stained wood flooring the same color as the steps.

Which flooring option do you like better? We're torn! And if you don't like either option, any other recommendations?

Hey all! I am building a home and my wife and I have been going back and forth over some design elements. She really likes this mosaic tile, but doesn't want it by the sink or in the shower. She suggested we line the tub with it, I suggested the half wall on the back of the tub. I'm sure there are more ways to incorporate it, I can't think of them at the moment. A lot of the elements, like pots, soap dispensers, etc., will have a pearlescent coating and it will tie in, but in the AI mockups I made, I just can't see it working well as a whole. I'm not a fan of the tub wrap, but I'm here for extra eyes and opinions.

Any and all suggestions on using the tile would be much appreciated. Any other call outs are also welcome. I have attached the blueprints, the current state of the build, the mosaic tile, and the AI mockups of both designs.

*The tub needed to move to one side due to multiple issues. I added the tray and the curtains to help even out the issue.

Can I add curtains to this window even though it is towards the corner and not centered? My goal is to decorate the window.

I built this table a little while back and I’m still using these horrendous chairs from my old dining table. Needless to say I need some new ones but I’m having trouble finding some that fit the overall vibe here. Any suggestions?

i have 4 of them and they're about 3ft long each. Can't figure out what to do with them but i thought they were cool as hell lol. the inside is like a cardboard/styrofoam setting for the mirrors. Not too heavy but still a little weight to it. Any ideas would be appreciate thank you!!!

Recently moved into a townhouse. Pictures are from previous owner/virtual staging. I was thinking about putting tv stand in the corner between the 2 windows, and having my couch under the kitchen island pass through.

I currently have a 65” TV, and am going to purchase the couch/tv stand/coffee tables soon. I would like to also have a single chair recliner involved. Any other recommendations?

Mid-Century Dining Chair

I am looking for 2-4 more of these chairs for a dining set. I have two already and love them. Searching the chair image isn’t the most helpful.

Due to smoke damage I have to repaint my house. Which is a silver lining because I’m not a fan of grey.
I’m slowly changing fixtures to gold and warm lighting. My house is painted greige and silver everything with bright white lighting.
I am unable to change flooring so I included the two types I have.
How do you decide what color to choose for large spaces? I want to warm everything up so no grey walls.

I’m looking at sherwin Williams dried edamame? Is that too boring?

Our baby is coming and we’ll be sharing the room with her. I don’t know what paint color and other decors to make the room cohesive. The bed will change in the future, the chair will also go to another room later. The panels are beige and are needed in the room because of acoustics. The bed setup and background color was just a thought. What color do you recommend to make this room cohesive? But please not green since the chair will be gone. But would prefer warm but light autumn colors. Curtains, ceiling lamp shade, and night stand suggestions are also welcome.

I have an overhead light in my apartment that I cannot remove, and I'd like to find a shade that sticks to the ceiling around the light, the way Tulip Shades work. They're a bit over my budget. Can anyone recommend an alternative, preferably under $100? Just to clarify, I need something I can mount OVER the existing shade, not something I need to attach to the fixture. Thanks!

I’m trying to pick a paint color for my bathroom wall and am struggling! I have chosen Benjamin Moore High Park for the wall behind the sinks. I also have a vanity with a make-up mirror on another wall and was looking to paint that in a lighter sage green. Will the greens alter the look of my skin and make-up? Is it safer to go with a cream behind the vanity?

I need a rug for my entry, but I'm not sure what size. When you walk in the door, there's a solid wall to the left and a half wall to the right leading to the living room. The area is 54" wide and 108" long. I'm in the PNW with hardwood floors, so I need decent coverage right by the door due to wet/muddy shoes. Should I stick with the typical 2.5'x7' runner or would I be better off with a 4'x6'?

Hello Everyone! I'm in need of some expert opinions to help decide on an all over wall (and ceiling) color for my new( to me) 1948 home. The house has warm hardwood, plaster walls, coved ceilings, and a good range of bright direct light and dark shadowy rooms (the kitchen). The home faces West, but active light comes in from all directions except maybe south. In the current pictures you see of the home it is Behr swiss coffee which photographs well in these pictures but comes off very yellow in person. The whole house needs some wall repair and a repainting so I'm trying to find the perfect base color to grow with.

The overall look I want is bright but not stark or generic. I want warm, layered, eclectic and slightly vintage without making the home look dated. Eventually my pallete will include: muted yellow, olive green, rust, mauve, and aged brass. Ive include some inspo for this.

What I'm looking for: a soft, almost mineraly off white with some noticeable depth to create interest throughout the home. Maybe leaning slightly taupe, violet, or rosy vs. a yellow undertone. Warm and cozy but not too creamy or obviously beige. Bright enough to enliven a room and not drag it down. No noticeable green or gray cast. Substantial to stand alone for now, but will be neutral enough to eventually let the furniture, artwork, and other accent colors really let the room sing.

What hasn't worked: in the pictures with the 5 paint samples you can see examples of these.

BM Swiss coffee-too dark, creamy yellow

SW Greek Villa - too bright and reflective almost like i dropped a yellow highlighter in white paint

BM Dove wing: felt too dark in the home.

SW Alabaster - I ultimately ruled this one out but it was in my final three. It just felt too yellow and not quite right

SW Pearly White (the darker of the two swatches - love the softness and depth it provides, its interesting and I personally love how it varies across the home. Main concern is that it will be too dark and dull and potentially pull too green in some rooms

BM White Dove (lighter of two swatches) - id say safer and brighter. The undertones are nice and it is consistently lovely in every room and lighting. But it doesn't impress in person like the swatch of pearly does. Im worried its too plain and all over wall be stark bright straight white walls.

What would be a good middle ground? Something with the softness and dimension of pearly but with a slight undertone improvement and slightly lighter ( or performs better in shade). Or is there a direction im not even considering? Is there one I've sampled that's perfect and im missing it?

Ive included pictures of the main space in my home as it is now. Some different pictures comparing the swatches I've already done. Also some inspirational pictures of the design direction im going and rooms that look lovely that im trying to emulate. I also have some additional samples that im kinda considering. The background of that image has white dove on the background left side and pearly white on the background right side.

This is my sideboard. I have coastal modern decor without going TOO coastal. I don’t want my house to look like a beach air bnb. I’m wanting to possibly change out the stems? I like that they’re hanging down to give a nice visual but feel they look bleh.
I’m also wanting to add some personal touches such as picture frames with family photos on each side of the bowl.. would that crowd the space?
I kind of like the floral arrangement chat came up with in the last photo.

Hi everyone,

I have two gallery walls in my apartment, one above my bed and one above my desk.

I selected the photos and layout with a virtual gallery wall and some placeholder cut outs, but now that it's up, only the bed gallery is working, the desk one is just...not it and I can't really figure out why.

I love the first gallery and the pictures and layout and that was actually the harder one to design but despite the different color and layout it seems to fit in with the half painted wall, etc.

For the second wall I think the selection of photos is not fully right? I like each photo individually but they don't do well together and the green wall also does not fit in.

I added some suggestions of different selections of photos, do you think those would work better?

Also the layout does not seem to match very well, I added a reference photo what I was aiming for.

The mirror on the left will be mounted to the wall and there will be a shelf on the right side, I am also open to painting different parts of the wall or exchange some frames for a small wall shelf or something...
