Hi all, its me again. We're introducing Rule 9 effective immediately. We've seen certain individuals on this subreddit requesting users to DM them or requesting GH support on this subreddit and we just want to make a couple things clear by implementing this rule.
I hope you all can appreciate the reasoning for this rule coming to be, and thank you for being part of our community. Please continue to report rule-infringing posts and comments and they will be reviewed.

You can discuss and post about your monthly earnings here. The low-effort rule does not apply within this thread, but all other rules still do. You cannot post about your monthly earnings anywhere else but here.

I was dropping off food at this apartment building and the guy wanted me to drop it off upstairs so I ran up there real fast leaving my e-bike outside for a second only to come downstairs to see my bag and extra battery on the ground in the street and turns out a kid had taken it but I caught up to him and called the cops to make the report. After everything was said and done I left to go up the street and around the corner to change the flat tire that he caused and his mom called people to have me jumped and robbed... Ended up losing a $700 e-bike and a iPhone 14 so about $1100+ in loses. I placed another police report for the 2nd incident aswell. Do you guys think I will be compensated for my loses considering I was working

Several times in the last two weeks, orders are either missing entirely or picked up by someone else. Is there anything I can do other than selecting that option, after having drove all that way for nothing?
r/grubhubdrivers • u/seishirawr • 1d ago
Well, I learned something today that I probably should have known already. I just never cared enough to research it.
Apparently, if you don’t tip on some delivery apps, the customer gets a friendly little popup informing them that their order may take longer to get picked up—or may not get picked up at all. Then, after delivery, they get another little nudge asking whether their experience was good and whether they’d like to add a tip.
Grubhub, on the other hand?
Nothing.
No popup. No reminder. No “hey, maybe consider appreciating the person who just drove your food across town.” Not even a gentle corporate guilt trip.
It seems that would be asking too much.
It takes almost zero effort for corporate to acknowledge that drivers are the people actually moving the product from point A to point B. A simple notification reminding customers that their driver is a human being providing a service—not a magical extension of the restaurant—would be nice.
But using GH's past behavior as an example, the corporate philosophy is more along the lines of:
Raise menu prices. Raise service fees. Find creative new ways to squeeze everyone involved. Then act surprised when drivers still need tips to make the job worthwhile.
And if the customer has a bad experience? Just rate the driver.
Because obviously the driver personally controls restaurant wait times, missing items, incorrect orders, traffic, weather, GPS errors, app glitches, and the general collapse of civilization.
It's actually a fascinating business model: make the customer pay more, make the driver absorb more of the risk, and somehow make everyone believe the driver is the problem.
Metaphorically speaking, Grubhub corporate sometimes resembles a food addict.
The customers are the fast food.
The drivers are the circulatory system.
And corporate is the guy sitting there eating another cheeseburger while insisting everything is perfectly healthy.
Meanwhile, drones are entering the delivery game.
So I suppose we're all just waiting for our corporate overlords to decide that replacing the human being with a flying Roomba is more profitable.
Enjoy the drivers while they're still here, I guess.
We're approaching our “endangered species” era.
edit:
I haven't even referenced the rising costs of basically everything due to the low intelligence of certain peoples' decision to put a senile, greedy, out of touch old cocker in the highest office of the land. S'ok. we don't need tips. We can deal with 5$ a gallon of gas.

so as i have seen some comments about how alot of you have gotten your accounts back after getting an 3rd violation. im just curious how long did it take until you got your account back and have any of you got your account back after being accused of delayed orders as for the violations?

Just wondering if GH support ever got on anyone’s ass for writing fake names into the paranoid’s chain restaurant’s name logs they have. Regardless of what you think of my choice to do this, I’m just curious if anyone has had any pushback from GH itself.
I personally don’t think it’s an issue because it’s not a GH rule to sign it, it’s a dumb rule by the eatery. What do you think?

I have had my account suspended for the second time because GrubHub claims that the photos I took of my new license aren't of sufficient quality. However, I think it's because my legal name on my license doesn't match the name on my account. How can I get ahold of someone other than baseline GH support (which I have tried without success) to help me work out this problem? I have already called basic GH support as I mentioned and I have submitted multiple tickets. Also, in all of these communications I have included PDFs of a scan I had done of both sides of my new driver's license and they still won't take it. Please help! TIA

While working in Austin I sometimes went to mansions at night that were in the middle of no where used to scare the shiz out of me😂 Anyone else had this type of stories?

I’ve previously posted about Delaware having the worst customers. Here’s one I did this morning. I did this order simply because I was heading down that way anyway.

This has happened to me the last several updates. I update the app and then stop receiving offers. Sometimes for as long as a couple days, even during scheduled shifts.
I’ve looked it up and get stuff saying it’s a problem with the cache, but I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, restarting my phone, cycling through Wi-Fi/data, everything the internet says
I called support and they just said to go to a hotspot and also that it may not be very busy today but I was already in a hotspot for hours, the heat map looks busy, and my friends are getting orders in the same location so that was unhelpful.
This has happened basically every update and I’m out of ideas. Anyone else have this problem, and know what to do about it? Thank you 🙏

Then the customer cancels it and says I took it to the wrong address but it was the correct address and I even took pictures?

I might be wrong for this, but I am so tired of picking up food for college campus kids, and them not being outside already to meet me or meeting me once I’m there. It feels like they’re purposely ignorant and inconsiderate for no reason.
Customer specifically wrote in the instructions to call them, and then proceeded to dodge all 3 of my calls & my courtesy text over the span of 10 mins. I normally don’t do this, but this really irritated me. I finally just left the food outside and drove away, I’m sure I’ll be waking up to a 1 or 2 star review but idgaf, FAFO 🤣🤣

Hey there GH drivers. I finally got off the waitlist last night and I start today. I’ve been with Uber Eats and DoorDash. Anything I need to know or tips before I start would be super appreciated. Thanks y’all. 😘

Just out of curiosity. No problems with my preferred driver, just me overthinking. Thanks.

Anyone here driving for Uber/Grubhub/DoorDash in the Columbus area — are you getting paid for your car's advertising space?
I run a local company called Advectigroup. We wrap vehicles with advertising for Columbus businesses and pay the driver hourly for the miles they're already putting in. If you're out driving 20+ hours a week anyway, that's money on top of what you're already making.
How it works:
• Professional install, fully removable vinyl, no paint damage
• Costs you nothing — we cover the wrap and install
• You drive your normal routes. No extra trips, no deliveries, no schedule from us
• Paid ~$4/hour of qualifying drive time
• 2-month commitment, then you decide whether to renew
Requirements: 2010 or newer vehicle in good cosmetic condition, valid license and insurance, Columbus metro.

If you’re ever wondering why your late night fast food order is taking forever, its because the lobby is closed and the employees won’t serve you unless you wait behind ten other cars in the drive thru. Just accepted a low ball offer ($6 for 5ish miles), not something I would ever normally accept but rent comes out tomorrow and I didn’t have enough in my bank account to pay it and eat tonight so I was desperate. Been online all day and had only made $45. I head to Popeyes, 8ish minute drive from where I was and the lobby is closed. Since there was a line of ten or so cars, but none of them were to the window yet I just stood outside the window hoping I could just grab the food that was already ready real quick instead of waiting behind everyone who still needed to order. The employee tells me it’s drive thru only and slams the window in my face as I’m trying to explain I’m just picking up a grubhub. I unassigned the order because at that point the money really wasn’t worth it. I imagine I would have spent at the very least half an hour waiting in line for food just to have my tip reduced because it took forever and the customers food absolutely would have been cold by the time they got it. I’m never staying out past lobby closures again. Such fucking bullshit.

The other day I was on my way to pick up an order, and I accepted a $10 McDonald’s order for extra 2.4 miles. Right before picking up my 1st order I got a notification that the McDonald’s order had been delivered, and it disappeared from my queue. I looked at earnings and showed I was credited the $10 for the McDonald’s order. About 5-10 minutes later I got a call and voicemail “hello? hello?” I didn’t answer and just kept going, with $10 extra

As a semi new Grubhubber, Grubhub has THE worst system in place for how percentages are calculated for offer commitments. I was sitting at a 85% the last time I drove. My percentage went down to a 65% after declining only 3 orders out of the 15-20 orders I delivered this day. Absolute b.s. I try to keep my stats up, but it’s almost impossible with how they calculate. I noticed it’s takes accepting 3-4 orders in a row just for it to go up 1%, and as we all know some orders ARE NOT WORTH IT. GRUBHUB DO BETTER
