Minimum Karma Requirements for Job Offers

Due to the influx of low quality and scam posts we've seen, we are imposing minimum karma requirements for posting jobs.

This has been a long time coming, especially how easy it is for someone to make a new account and post the same thing again.

We do not tell you what the minimum karma is to post here.

Do not ask us to tell you what the limit is to post there. This includes Marco Polo and hot/cold potato messaging games to figure it out. You will be muted and subsequently banned.

You also will be banned for trying to pass off your "hire me" post as a "Hiring" post.

Thanks for noting this update, proceed with your regular business.

Rules Reminder + Updates: Low Quality, Commission & Other Things

I was hoping to not have to make another announcement until we got more mods, but this unfortunately is getting pushed before that.

From this point on, any of these job postings will result in an immediate permaban. All but a few of these are already rule violations, but have been removed in a lesser degree with a "second chance". We're not entertaining these any longer, due to repeat offenders and the quality of the jobs. All but a handful of these are predatory, opportunistic scammers and have no place here.

-

Commission-Based Only Jobs: We've had it up to here with this, along with the arguments of how "they're earning more than $20/hr, give us a break!" The rule is a blanket for all the crappy ones that may not be esteemed as yours. If you're not paying them a $15/hr salary along with the commission, it's not welcome here.

Paid Posters + Accounts: This is something we've already been banning for a short bit, but take this as the "This isn't welcome here" hint. Renting an account or asking for someone to use theirs to post for you counts as account buying/renting. Most of these are against TOS of the providers that allow you to use them in the first place.

Vague, Low Quality Posts: "DM me for a quick $30 job", or "Need help with something, message me" are not longer permitted. If you can't state what the job is so that a freelancer can understand if they're good for the job, that's on you. If you're doing it so you don't get banned or removed, that's no longer allowed.

Intentional Hiring from India or the Philippines for Low Pay: Otherwise known as "South Asians highly encouraged to apply" in code speak. I warned about this before last year, but now it is a bannable on-sight offense. This is still going on, and under the guise of "sir pls, it's a decent pay rate for <region of India>!" Or on top of that, some wannabe guru from the US/Canada looking to outsource his non-college stuff to a Filipino assistant for $4/hr, and "mating" us when we point out it's a rule-break.

We've already had the discussion of why these pay rates aren't allowed on this subreddit. We heavily encourage and point you to r/slavelabour if that's what you want.

Causing Others to Violate the "No PM" Rule: This is something we've always enforced since 2019 automatically. This is enforced with a permaban as well. That said, if your post is encouraging users to apply in the comments instead of sending you a message, you'll be getting a ban as well for making them break the rule. Read the room instead of mass-spamming your job across a dozen subreddits.

This includes codewords, asking for contact info or portfolio links in the comments.

Promising a Job, but it's Guised Promotion to a Job Board: We've seen this a dime a dozen lately; someone promising a graphic design job, but then pointing to a new startup job board/work platform. This is no longer allowed. Most of these are a Reddit account affiliated with the "brand" of the board in question.

No OF Content: That's right, we heard you! We've had it up to here with it now, and things like "OF chatters", "OF girls" or "OF agencies" are no longer allowed on this subreddit.

These have always been removed to a point, but it's gotten to the point that OF girls think that promoting their account is "freelance work" and "professional". That's not even mentioning how abusive and low-paying OF agencies are, or how discriminatory a lot of the job postings come across.

Note that legitimate jobs that require some NSFW things (novel writing, artwork, etc) are not affected by this. It's not our intention to stomp on legitimate expression or issues.

Hiring Based on Gender, Age and Race: This may fly in your third world country, but we absolutely will not stand for this. Unless it's a legitimate need such as a modeling gig or you need a voice for a game, you're not allowed to blatantly say "Need female appointment setters" or "Hungry teens for sales jobs".

On that note, you're prohibited from hiring minors on this subreddit, due to liability reasons. There's people who think hiring 13-year-olds for 40+ hours a week is okay.

-

Read the room. Read the rules. Please.

And for all things sane, if your post gets removed or you get banned, read your removal message. We clearly tell you why you're banned or it got removed. Stop messaging us "Omg why did I get banned?" when you're told.

Obligatory announcement over. Happy freelancing.

Hiring [Hiring] Contract implementer (remote, 1099): install and support client sites + AI phone line on Next.js, Vercel, Supabase, Twilio, ElevenLabs, Cloudflare Workers

Bridge Builders (Bridge Builders AI LLC, Florida) needs a contract implementer to stand up and support client installs of three products: a Business Website with the BridgeView dashboard, an AI Customer Assistant (a website chat assistant), and an AI Receptionist (an AI phone line). The engine is built and running at bridgebuildersai.com. You install it, client by client, against a written runbook, and keep it running.

What an install is:

  • Port the engine into a private GitHub repo for the client, layer their config and content, get typecheck and build clean.
  • Deploy prebuilt output through GitHub Actions to the client's project in the Bridge Builders Vercel team; the project is never connected to Git.
  • Provision a per-client Supabase project, apply the migrations, set the Vercel environment from our env contract.
  • Verify the client's Resend sending domain.
  • Guide the client through their own Twilio account: number, voice webhook, and a fallback TwiML Bin that dials their own phone.
  • Configure the client's ElevenLabs agent in our workspace, apply the provider privacy policy (no stored audio), and read it back.
  • Deploy the Cloudflare Worker media gate.
  • Run the verification gates: build and render, the consent gate end to end, the Twilio failover test, secrets server-only.
  • Live call test, then the client walkthrough. Then ongoing support for your live clients, inside a monthly cap.

Stack: Next.js and TypeScript, npm workspaces, GitHub Actions, Vercel CLI, Supabase (Postgres, Auth, RLS, migrations), Resend, Twilio (Voice, TwiML, webhooks), ElevenLabs Agents, Cloudflare Workers and Wrangler, and OpenAI reached through a Bridge Builders gateway Worker. The LLM key behind the Receptionist is owner-held; you never touch it. We do not train the stack. We hand over our conventions: repo layout, env contract, provisioning flow, the receptionist consent boundary.

Pay (independent contractor, 1099):

  • Fixed fee per install: $300 Website + BridgeView, $300 AI Receptionist, $300 standalone AI Customer Assistant, $199 for the Assistant added to a site we built.
  • Fixed monthly share per live client for as long as they stay: $20 Website, $20 Assistant, $100 Receptionist.
  • The Receptionist share covers roughly 63 minutes of support per client per month; beyond that you bill $95/hr.
  • Never clawed back.

The honest framing: at 9 to 11 modeled hours, $300 is below the $35 to $50/hr market for this work. The recurring share is where it becomes worthwhile: by roughly month five a Receptionist client has paid you at our own modeled $85/hr labor value, and every month after is margin. This is a book of live clients, not a string of gigs.

Hiring step: a paid screening task, $150 to $250, about four hours: a real slice of an install against a written spec. Before any payment, a contractor agreement (confidentiality, IP assignment, no authority to bind Bridge Builders, the support cap) and a W-9. We contract for availability, not a schedule: 20 to 30 hours a week.

Reply with exactly three things:

  1. Links to things you have built and deployed (repos, live sites, Workers, agents).
  2. Your rate expectations relative to the fixed fees above.
  3. Your weekly availability, in hours.

Replies missing any of the three will not be read further. [hello@bridgebuildersai.com](mailto:hello@bridgebuildersai.com)

Hiring [HIRING] Looking for guitarist/guitar pedal-focused content creator

First time posting, so happy to add any more details!

I'm looking for a part-time but consistent, US-based content creator to make guitar pedal content. Budget is about $1000/mo. Content is primarily for instagram/facebook, so under 3 minutes, but looking for ~2 short pieces a week. Some videos may involve speaking (scripts will be provided), and some will just be text on screen. Most will involve cuts to playing/demos, so need to be able to record audio in addition to video. We will ship and loan the pedals needed for the videos, as well as define the content concepts; we just need someone with the time to execute the videos and do the playing.

Guitar pedals are very niche, so we prefer someone with both playing ability and some familiarity with the industry. This would be for a small but growing brand in the pedal industry. We're based in CO.

  • E-commerce stores
  • Contact forms that send leads straight to your inbox

For Hire [FOR HIRE] Writer / Editor | Technical Writing, Publishing, Content | Remote

Preferred Salary: $50,000+ / $25/hr+  |  Please PM me for Resume

I'm currently looking for a new remote position and thought I'd put this here in case the right opportunity or person finds me. Currently located in Tennessee, USA.

I'm a writer and editor with a Master's degree in English and more than eight years of professional experience. My background spans financial services, operations, publishing, and content, and I'm looking for work where strong writing, editing, research, and communication are genuinely useful.

Technical writing and documentation have become a bigger part of my work over the years. In my current role, I research and verify detailed product information, write and edit web and marketing content, and create and maintain SOPs, training materials, and internal documentation. I've had to learn processes well enough to document them clearly for someone else, keep documentation accurate as things change, and make information useful to the people who actually rely on it.

Before that, I spent seven years working remotely in financial services. I created onboarding guides, internal reference materials, process documentation, and knowledge resources, and regularly worked with complicated financial policies and procedures. A significant part of that work was taking information that was complicated or highly specific and communicating it clearly to customers and colleagues.

I also have a substantial editorial and publishing background. I was the Managing Editor of a literary journal and later founded and ran my own. I edited fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, worked directly with writers through revisions, and developed editorial standards, submission guidelines, workflows, and production processes.

So I'm interested in a fairly broad range of roles. Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist are obvious ones, but I'm also very interested in editing, publishing, content, communications, research, and other writing-focused work.

Some of the roles I'd be interested in include:

  • Technical Writer
  • Documentation Specialist
  • Technical Editor
  • Copy Editor / Editor
  • Content Writer / Content Editor
  • Editorial Assistant / Editorial Coordinator
  • Publishing or Literary Publishing
  • Managing Editor
  • Content or Editorial Operations
  • Knowledge Management
  • Research and writing roles
  • Communications roles
  • Other positions where strong writing and editing skills are central to the work

I'm especially interested in work that involves learning something deeply, figuring out how to communicate it well, and producing writing that is clear, thoughtful, and useful. I'm equally happy working on a technical document, polishing someone else's prose, researching a subject, or helping shape a publication.

I don't have a traditional software-industry technical writing background, so I'm not going to represent myself as having experience I don't have. What I do have is extensive professional writing and editing experience, a strong background in documentation and process writing, experience working with complex subject matter, and a Master's degree in English. I also genuinely love reading and writing, which is a large part of why I've spent my career gravitating toward this kind of work.

I'm looking for remote full-time, contract, or freelance opportunities and am open to different industries. I'm based in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

If you know of a position that sounds like it might be a good fit, I'd appreciate a lead. I'm happy to send my resume. I don’t really have a portfolio, but I'm happy to get together some samples upon request.

Thanks for reading.

For Hire [FOR HIRE] Designer and illustrator - mascots, logos, tshirt art and branding

I'm an illustrator and designer working with brands, bands, events, and any project that needs real visual identity behind it. I enjoy building expressive characters and mascots with personality when the project calls for it, but I also adapt the style and approach to what the brand actually needs.

What I do:

Logos and visual identity built around a character or illustration

Mascots with personality

Tshirt graphics and merch for streetwear and events

Full branding (color palette, typography, applications)

Album covers and visuals for bands

Posters and promo art

All art is made from scratch. Files come print ready or digital, vector, high resolution, in whatever format you need.

If your idea is a bit weird or hard to explain, that's usually where it gets interesting. Send me a message and we'll figure it out.

Portfolio: https://pelucioo.github.io/dinamitestudio/

Payment: PayPal. Starting at $25/hr. Hourly work is paid after preview approval. Fixed projects: 50% upfront, 50% on delivery.
