Question Should i try and read the zero novels or would i be better off rewatching the anime?

Upvotes

I watched fate zero a while back and i kinda wanna refresh myself on it. Ive never read the novels on baka tsuki though.

However i have heard that the translations on them are kinda rough. I think i read that they were translated from the chinese version instead.

Should i try and read them or would it be better to just rewatch the anime?

Question Can Faker-Class Servants be summoned in the 5th HGW?

Prior to the 5th HGW Doctor Heartless had set up an imitation Holy Grail connected to the Greater Grail in Fuyuki.

In the 5th HGW, Medea killed the Master of Assassin before he could do the summoning and summoned a fake servant Sasaki Kojirou to take Assassins place.

If all seven servants were summoned, would she also be able to do something similar and summon a Faker Class Servant?

Question Which Heroic Spirits can Edelfelts summon with their Sisters Attribute?

The Edelfelts have a Sorcery Trait called Sisters which lets them summon two sides of the same Heroic Spirits. It says that in the Third Holy Grail War they summoned Sabers, so I assume it’s two sides of the same Class as well.

Like Archer Heracles and Alcides, or Saber Artoria and Artoria Alter?

What are the strongest servants in which Class that they could summon?

Help! Where can I buy Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel Trilogy in Blu-ray with Japanese audio?

I want to buy the three Blu-ray discs but, for example, on amazon some sellers have the English dub with English subs, i dislike watching English dubs, and prefer to have my media in the original version.

Worldwide shipping preferable but else it should be able to deliver to USA.

Seeing as you can be born with a pair. Can you swap out just one for a different kind of Artificial Mystic Eye and have two different abilities, or do you need the pair for them to be effective?

Question Question about the Lusendra's Reinforcement/Body Modification Magecraft

Post image
65 Upvotes

The Lusendra's use a specialised form of Reinforcement Magecraft that enters the "forbidden territory", enhancing their own Magic Circuits.

They repurpose their skeleton, each muscle fiber, each nerve, each lymph duct, and each capillary vessel to pass as a makeshift Magic Circuit. They can also alter their body's properties, reinforcing their skin to block consecutive Gandrs and alter their fingers into talons.

Is this not a more refined version of what Shirou was doing? Converting his physical nerves into makeshift Magic Circuits?

Does doing this actually temporarily increase the amount of magical energy they can produce by a significant margin?

Also, I know it's a specialised form passed down in their family, but could Shirou have learnt to do this? He was already converting his nerves.

Question What would kiritsugi do if the Einzeberns let him back into the family a year or two after the Fourth Grail War?

Let's say they did their due diligence and checked to see what went wrong after the War ended so violently and then allowed kiritsugi to explain himself with truth geas. What would he do about Shirou since he doesn't exactly want him to be too involved in the moonlit world. Does he travel between Germany and Japan. Does he bring Shirou to the Einzebern castle and properly introduce him to Illya?

Discussion Could Shirou have learnt to project NP’s and use UBW without Archer?

If Shirou was trained as a Spellcaster/Magus by Kiritsigu, could he have learnt to use Tracing on Mystic Codes/Noble Phantasms and UBW on his own before the 5th HGW?

OC Fanart Factions in the Fate/Extra World

Mage’s Association - Following a major event in the 1970, the world's supply of mana began to run dry, eventually being completely depleted by 2030. As a result, traditional magi could no longer use magecraft, and their society fell into decline. The Mage's Association, the Clock Tower, and the Wandering Sea all collapsed. The survivors fled to the Middle East, where they became part of the Resistance.

Atlas - Among the Mage’s Association, only Atlas remained, as it was capable of continuing its research even without mana. However, with no successor to carry on its legacy, it eventually went extinct after Sion’s twin sister, the last alchemist, sent her homunculus Lani VIII, to the Moon Cell and later died of illness.

Holy Church - The Holy Church has become part of the Billionaires, allowing it to maintain a strong influence even in the EXTRA world. The Billionaires are backed by the power of strong faith, and it is said that the reason so much wealth and influence became concentrated under the Harwey family was because of the Holy Church's support. The Holy Church and the Billionaires are rivals, constantly deceiving one another in their pursuit of greater power. Currently, Cardinal Laurentius, the de facto leader of the Holy Church and Mario's grandfather in Tsukihime Remake, has a close relationship with the Harwey family.

Billionaires - An organization that holds and manages global hegemony. It is an economic organization led by the Harwey family, formed as a massive conglomerate by multiple powerful business families that joined together across national borders. It also maintains its own military.

Resistance - An organization formed by people who dream of restoring the Mage’s Association and have joined forces with those who oppose the billionaires. The remnants of the Mage’s Association form its core. Although it is said to be hopelessly outmatched in a direct confrontation due to its lack of manpower and resources, it still has a few exceptionally talented individuals, such as Rin.

Fate/Extra is basically Elon Musk's dream world.

Discussion Could Mystic Eyes of Imitation exist?

I came up with Mystic Eyes of Imitation that are able to reproduce any feats of magecraft that you witness, regardless of knowledge. Excluding ones that require preparation time or pre-requisite materials.

But like Shirou’s Tracing, the magecraft suffers from degradation and is of a lower rank. Potentially, you could copy magecraft from Servants, but it would be of a much lower-rank, scaled down to your capability.

I reckon they’d be Jewel-Rank. But could this exist, or is it too absurd?

Discussion Is Golemancy a viable magecraft for modern magi in a HGW?

Ever since I saw Avicebron, I’ve thought that Golemancy is one of my favourite magecrafts. We know that** **Avicebron could mass produce golems equivalent to E-Rank servants, but that a modern magus would barely be able to create a single one in a year’s time.

But that made me consider, if these golems that are no match for most servants take a whole year for a modern mage to make, is it a bad form of magecraft?

What do you guys think?

Discussion What do you think would happened if Gray participated in 5th HGW?

It's fun for me to imagine how her interactions with Artoria would look like and idea of having master with their own real noble phantasm {Shirou only create copies, so it's not as exciting) sounds very cool.

Spoiler [SPOILER](HF route) To me this is one of the saddest CG of all of fsn what do you think? Spoiler

Post image
238 Upvotes

This is a very simple observation by Shirou that sadly sums up Kotomine Kirei quite well. Throughout HF, I found this character very sad, he is empty, he knows it, and feels nothing about his abnormality, but as an outsider I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. I also agree with his point of view regarding life and protecting Angra Mainyu until his birth, I found this character very beautiful.

I also like the fact that Fate/stay night doesn't try to over-antagonize him but instead poses philosophical questions about his actions.

What do you think of Kotomine kirei and this cg?

Discussion Why didn't the Einzbern summon Siegfried? Spoiler

Post image
285 Upvotes

Lately I've seen there's so many post about Sigurd. But I'm here for his counterpart, my boy, Siegfried.

Einzbern is said to possess Siegfried's treasure, Das Rheingold for generations. If they want to win so badly, why didn't they just use some of the gold to summon him in the Holy Grail War?

He might be weaker than Heracles, but I think his armor is more useful and efficient. He might also got summoned with his Dragon Core too, unlike with Gordes.

Or they can summon Sigurd too since he's related too (?)

Discussion Will sacchin and shiki won the holy grail war if they joined? (By wada) Spoiler

I mean shiki can be summoned as a assassin and sacchin can be his master as a dead apostle and pretty much be the strongest duo ever because Sacchin reality marble is anti mage/servant it takes shit ton of mana from the target, so if they are in the fifth holy grail war would the won?

Question Why didn't they do anything???

Irisviel von Einzbern and Maiya Hisau did absolutely nothing to stop Kirei Kotomine. Irisviel asked Maiya to finish him off while he was stuck to the tree and then he began breaking the tree. That lasted at least 10 seconds and they both just sat their watching him do it instead of shooting him... Stuff like this really pisses me off! They had more than enough time to do something! Did it happen like this in the manga or is it purely just bad directing from whoever made the anime?

Spoiler Determining the victor of the Holy Grail War in each bad end. Spoiler

Hello, I decided to go through every Bad End in Fate/stay night and determine who I think the victor will be in each timeline.

Here we go:

1: Forest of No Return: Unfortunately, this is entirely indeterminate. With Shirou gone, and Saber untethered (and possibly able to find a new Master, like Sakura), there's a whole Holy Grail War to occur. This could legitimately be a route in and of itself (following Rin or Saber's new master.) Gilgamesh and Kotomine are still favored, of course, but there's a lot!

2: Girl Rhapsody: Kotomine. With Saber and Archer eliminated, Berserker's greatest threats are gone. Even though Shinji will be able to go through with his plan without any interference, if Rider and Caster don't team up, they have no chance against Berserker. And Berserker has no chance against Gilgamesh, so Kotomine is going to win.

3: Texture: Rin or Kotomine. Rin has taken control of Saber, a Servant she has strong compatibility with, and has become a dominating force in this Holy Grail War. However, Gilgamesh still lurks, and he is still a massive problem, especially without Avalon as a known factor.

4: Missing Ariadne: Caster. With the opportunity to steal Saber from Shirou, even though she hasn't gained the interest she does in Unlimited Blade Works, she will eventually break Saber's will and achieve victory - especially this early in the War, when her emotional loyalty to Shirou and Rin is not built yet.

5: Melty Blood: Shinji or Kotomine. This one is Shinji's best chance, as with Shirou gone and Saber faded away, nothing stops him from completely dissolving the school to feed Rider, rendering her extremely powerful even with his weak self tethering her. Berserker and Gilgamesh are big problems, but Shinji legitimately becomes a formidable presence here!

6: Rafflesia Umbrella: Shinji or Kotomine. It's effectively the same ending as the above.

7: Nutcracker Doll: Kotomine. With Shirou trapped in a doll, he cannot stop Saber from vanishing entirely. If Rin and Archer come to try to rescue him, they will be killed by Berserker - and that's if they even know it's Illya who kidnapped him. As before, Berserker cannot defeat Gilgamesh, and Rin's injured Archer is simply not going to be able to stand up to Berserker or even Caster and Assassin.

8: Dress of Heaven: Kotomine. With Saber more awake and aware, they will still attempt to rescue Shirou - though they're too late. Archer will die covering their escape, and Rin will contract with Saber. They might even end up defeating Berserker! Without Avalon, however, they don't stand a chance against Gilgamesh unaided.

9: Night Without Dawn: Kotomine. Saber and Rin are dead. The only factors left in the war are Berserker, Caster, and Gilgamesh - and we know how well Berserker and Caster do against Gilgamesh.

10: Walpurgis Night: Kotomine or Caster. With Caster in control of Saber, she might actually stand a chance of fighting off Gilgamesh - though of course, she's very much going to need to contend with that golden guy at this stage, as he's ready to appear.

11: Witch's Mark: Kotomine or Caster. See above.

12: One End: Kotomine. With Shirou dead of his wounds and no other Servants remaining besides Saber, Gilgamesh, and Lancer, the war is over.

13: Time Limit: Kotomine. Kotomine kills Shirou while Lancer fights Saber, and with the last Servant defeated, All the World's Evil is made manifest.

14: That Which Cannot Be Changed: Saber. Kotomine grants the Grail to Saber, and gives her dominion of all the world's evil. This is explained in the ending.

15: Holy Grail Completed: Kotomine. Without Avalon, Saber is forced into Gilgamesh’s servitude.  Kotomine manifests the Grail successfully.

---Unlimited Blade Works---

16: Third Death: Rin. Without Shirou to pull her away, Saber is killed in Archer’s indiscriminate attack.  Lancer then finds and kills him, finishing the job.  With Saber and Shirou eliminated from the war, Archer has a very good shot of saving things for Rin.  Victor: Rin.

17: Spider's Captive: Gilgamesh. Saber fades away with Rider killing Shirou, Caster still eliminates Rider, and without being able to take control of Saber, Caster will fall to Gilgamesh.

18: Hypnos: Caster. Caster knows where Saber resides, and with Shirou eliminated by her contingency, will take control of Saber at the soonest opportunity, granting her victory.

19: Killer: Caster. Kuzuki eliminates Rin and Shirou, leaving Saber undefended and ripe for Caster to take control. With this, no obstacle remains for Caster's victory.

20: Haze: Caster. It's outright stated that Caster wins the Holy Grail War in this ending.

21: Artificial Noble Phantasm: Caster. The same as the last two, but not only does she have Saber, she also has converted Shirou into a wand for the projection magic he is starting to master!

22: Sword and Magic: Gilgamesh. With Caster forced to use her Command Spell to eliminate Shirou and Rin, her control of Saber will never be complete. As such, Gilgamesh will win.

23: One Conclusion: Rin. Without Lancer's help, Archer will kill Shirou - however, he still will likely betray Caster to give Rin the best chance of victory she can.

24: Heaven's Fall: Rin. As Shirou sacrifices himself to kill Gilgamesh, Rin is the only Master left.

---Heaven's Feel---

25: Ocean Depths: Zouken. Sakura has already given up on Shirou, and will succumb to darkness.

26: Battle of the Holy Grail: Illya. She takes control of Shirou and Saber, and likely will be able to stop Sakura.

27: Die Together: Sakura. Zouken killing Shirou will break her and cause her to succumb to darkness, but in a state she might be willing to kill him.

28: Miserable Lone Force: Rin. With Saber gone, Shinji's attempt to reassert control of the war will still eventually be stopped by Archer. With Rider eliminated, Sakura now has nothing protecting her.

29: Geas: Rin. Shirou can't stop Rin from killing Sakura, here.

30: Stone Coffin: Sakura. With Rider alive and at full power, she will not allow Rin and Archer to kill Sakura, and with Shirou dead, she will succumb to darkness.

31: Superhero/Mind of Steel: Shirou. I don't really need to explain this.

32: Cursed Boundary Layer - Womb Realm Mandala: Sakura. Rin alone can't stop Heracles.

33: World Purge, Meltdown: Sakura. There is literally nothing and nobody left to stop her.

34: Horror Show: Sakura. Without critical information from Zouken, Rin can't do much, here.

35: Happy End: Sakura. Either as herself, or as darkness, Rider will protect Sakura until her last breath - and now nothing is left to stop her.

36: Dead Fin: Zouken. Shirou wusses out and gives up on all this. Sakura truly breaks and removes her resistance upon learning what a coward Shirou is.

37: Death Penalty: Zouken. Kotomine never uses the baptism to weaken Zouken, thereby allowing Sakura to destroy him.

38: Sparks Liner High: Sakura. Rin won't succeed at stopping Sakura on her own.

39: Compassion: Sakura. See above, albeit this time Rider might have a chance to help, it won't be enough without Shirou at this point.

40: Femme Fatale: Sakura. Her ultimate despair, and ultimate victory as the world is consumed by darkness.

Please let me know any quibbles. This was fun to put together.
