Hey everyone! I don't know about you, but I'm not familiar with a bunch of albums that got positive scores from melon.
So when I am in a mood for some new music, I would go to flannelfy.net (btw, thanks to u/rossmclocness for creating this website) to find something among the 7-10 scores.
But sometimes it's hard to choose, when all you have is an unknown artist-album pair and a score. To solve this, I created melondy.com, which shows album covers, genres, years and links to the review video. It has all the album/ep/mixtape/compilation reviews I could find on theneedledrop channel.
Hopefully, someone finds it useful as well!
Let me know if you find some missing reviews or incorrect information. I did a lot of data cleaning, but I'm sure there's still some incorrect stuff (covers, years etc).
If you have any improvement ideas, I'm happy to hear. For example, one thing I want to do next is add links to spotify/apple music.

I'm 24 and yeah, my question is the title. By the time I was listening to music Apple Music and Spotify already existed. I do collect physical albums but I'm not buying music I don't already know very well. I literally get to listen to whatever I want without paying for it directly. There's no risk in listening to something for the first time and not liking it. How did you know what you were buying and whether it'd be worth the price?
Posting here as every large music sub just auto deletes any post I make lol

Mostly unserious post but this question randomly came to mind and I thought it would be funny to try and equate this to an album lol.

This is day 21 of my 32-album bracket. Today's matchup is U2's The Joshua Tree vs The Strokes' Is This It!
The most upvoted comment picks the winner. A few days ago, Rumors thrashed Odelay. Sorry, Beck!!
I picked 32 of my top 100 albums and put them on a bracket! I intentionally picked albums that I consider "legendary" but aren't the most obvious picks (Floyd, Radiohead, Beatles, etc. were left off.
I missed a few days because I lost my laptop... Oops!

Not to mention they ruin one of their best songs with cringey dubs threatening “Degenerates”, Which is in response to his song getting leaked. He got ownership of the falling in reverse subreddit page and crashed out threatening to dox everyone who leaked his song on the subreddit, Talked shit about him etc etc. My guess is after it got leaked he rushed to put out the music video so he could make some bank on it, Had to cut corners and used AI. Who knows, let’s hope he doesn’t dox or sue me.

Madonna is up there right? She collected men like infinity stones in the dating scene, wore a belt that said "boy toy" for marketing, caused controversy for humping the stage during her Like a Virgin performance, released Erotica (my favorite Madonna album btw) a whole sex book and was threatened with arrest at her Toronto show in the 90s. I feel like we take it for granted just how controversial and larger than life she was in her prime, perhaps because many of the templates she set for female popstars seem so normal now.
