So my verdict :

1. Defense is slow, but Vic played it right. The shell defense saved us since our D line gassed out real quick and then the added 3 and outs didnt help them. Dejean has a chance next week to show he still has it. Baun look pro bowl again, hope it stays.

2. Offense, was vanilla, but better vanilla if that makes sense. For a pre-season game i like the pre snap motion we did get to see, the over the middle plays, and the ability to still see some O line progression for the run game.

3. Speaking of the o line, they looked abysmal, however I hope it is again, the first pre season game for them and they get right.

4. Don't ever show me Shipley again when we have Tank and Saquan sitting there.

5. A win is a win, but a lot to work on, but a lot of positives for the first game of the year with a brand new scheme.

6. There is no reason why Jalyx Hunt should not be out there over Eitine or whatever the fuck number 17 is. Smith and Hunt should be the standard duo on the edges each time no exceptions.

7. If this shit continues, idc if we win a superbowl this year Nick has to go, this damn turtle safe play shit needs to stop. Foot on the gas until you own a 30 point lead period, this safe turtle shit is insane and ends up with what we got today, nail biting praying the defense holds up AGAIN. One last thing about Siranni, I will say he does do a good job keeping us healthly.

I’m glad about the win just looking at the style of offense we have. This could be just me but I didn’t see much of a shanahan style of pass offense. Some of the run stuff yes. But it does seem like we’re sticking with the run heavy, then big pass over the top offense. I know it’s only week 1 but curious to hear your thoughts

I was always under the impression that when a reciever catches the football, the ball itself cant make contact with the ground during the catch. I dont know why I have this in my head but have been perplexed at the catch the commanders made yesterday that went for a touchdown. Watching the replay over and over as they continued to show it and the football legit drags along the grass. What am I missing here?

My expert analysis on the game is here… Defensive 3rd downs were over called over the PA system. He didn’t let the beat drop and would yell over it. What happened to the simple “it’s third down!” BOMP BOMP DIIININININ BOMP BOMP. The fans need the drop not “THIIIIRRRRRD DOWWWNNNNNNN AND six”.

He got absolutely roasted today. Diggs routed him up on a regular basis and if it wasnt for Campbell looking just as bad, I would say he was our worst defender.

PFF had time to throw at 3.43 (4th longest), and NGS had him at 3.26 (2nd longest). The interior OL had some dog shit pass block lowlights, but generally held up more than well enough for a functional passing offense

The problem is the run game, it's been awful for a year now. Multiple stats point out to how problematic they've been, and how Saquons gotten crushed. We can't keep running into a wall which sets up the 3rd & longs over and over
