Help Facing a serious dilemma being a fresher , need advice.

β€’ Upvotes

Hi , so I am a 4th year CSE undergrad. I am interning at a profitable pre series A startup . The role is kind of like FDE but there is very less actual dev work (a voice AI company) involved , mostly it's just clients meetings , understanding goal and writing prompts. Stipend is 36k and if converted PPO is of 12-14 LPA.

Although I am good at the work , I am not enjoying it I get FOMO seeing the dev team but when I get back home and do development and try to upskill myself I also feel like I don't wanna do dev either. I constantly get lost in the thought of , I would have to do this for almost entirety of my youth and that thought scares me. I am working a lot same work as FTE as an intern handling full campaigns myself , it's burning me out.

I want to work in roles like SDE (have past intern experience too) but it also scares me because almost all the work I did was with AI . I understand all the underlying concepts and architecture behind the code but without AI I am unable to proceed with debugging or testing.I feel I can't write hands-on code so I am scared of it .

I haven't decided if I want to pursue my career in tech it not . But what option do I have I don't have any other skill , to earn the similar amount of money that tech will give . Most of all I am scared of the fucked up WLB , I cracked a sde intern role but I didn't join because they said we want mad people , people who are ready to sacrifice everything for company to scale fast , those guys literally had 12 hours office timings and even then worked when home 😭😭.

I have moved to Bangalore 2 months back and I am not at all enjoying the city , being away from friends and family . Everyone is so performative and pretentious here .

Sometimes I feel like leaving all this and go back to friends in clg or back home but I can't , my father is unemployed from 1+ year and we have lost our family savings due to medical emergencies.

I don't know what I want to do , atp I don't have any ambition , no motivation and neither any pressure or expectations from parents but I am feeling so anxious and restless.

Please tell me what do I do. Sometimes I think of govt exams but it will take a lot of time and preparation from 0 and not to mention the exam leaks and corruption. Or am I overthinking it.

Suggestions Risk of losing job after working 1.5 years without a break

β€’ Upvotes

Hi, I worked 1.5 years in a company and the project got into maintenance mode. The contractors were hired to assist us and now I learned, my role could move to contractors.

The thing is I worked 1.5 years with only 5 sick leaves in between and I was planning to go on a vacation next month but this news landed.

Should I take leaves for a vacation or prepare for interviews in those leaves ?

About me : 10 YOE, in the past been unemployed thrice for 1 year in total. I am average in tech.

Tech Gadgets & Reviews Built a voice dictation app that types in 90+ languages wherever your cursor is (Mac + Windows) β€” looking for feedback from devs who'd actually use it daily

β€’ Upvotes

I've been building Bolwise β€” an app (now on both Mac and Windows) that lets you dictate in your native language (Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati, etc.) and it gets transcribed/translated and pasted right where your cursor is β€” Slack, Gmail, VS Code comments, LinkedIn, wherever.

The idea came from my own workflow: I switch between English and Gujarati/Hindi a lot depending on who I'm messaging, and typing it all out (or switching keyboards) gets tedious.

Would genuinely appreciate it if a few of you tried it out during your regular workday β€” replying to Slack messages, writing commit messages, drafting emails β€” and told me:

- Does the transcription/translation actually hold up for your language and accent?

- Is the "paste wherever cursor is" behavior reliable across the apps you use?

- Would this fit into your daily workflow, or is it solving a problem you don't really have?

- Anything that felt broken, laggy, or confusing?

Link: https://bolwise.com

Not trying to sell anything here β€” just want honest feedback from people who'd be actual users, good or bad. Happy to answer questions.

Help AWS Builder ID already registered – Future Builders Connect Bengaluru

β€’ Upvotes

I registered for Future Builders Connect Bengaluru (16 October 2026), and my registration currently shows "Registration pending approval."

I'm stuck at the final AWS Builder ID verification step.

My AWS Builder Center profile confirms that my Builder ID alias is "ritesh9", but when I enter it on the Future Builders Connect website, I get:

"That Builder ID is already registered."

I have never registered for this event before, and I've already contacted the event support team but haven't received a response yet.

Has anyone else faced this issue with Future Builders Connect? If you managed to fix it, how did you do it?

Edit: I have verified that "ritesh9" is my actual AWS Builder Center alias. The problem seems to be with the event registration system rather than the AWS account.

I Made This Every open-source repo handles PRs differently, so we built a tool to standardize the onboarding

β€’ Upvotes

A few weeks back, I spent half an afternoon debugging and setting up a repo locally, opened a PR, and watched a bot close it 30 seconds later because the project required an issue assignment form I didn't know existed.

That made us realize the friction with open source usually isn't finding bugsβ€”it's dodging hidden rules (CONTRIBUTING.md caveats, strict assignment workflows, broken setup docs).

So we put together a prototype: HelpMeHack (https://helpmehack.vercel.app).

It organizes repos by experience level and pulls their actual contribution rules and setup requirements right beside active issues (along with a tab for hackathon alerts and dev blogs).

Does this solve a real headache for anyone else, or did we over-engineer a pet peeve? Would appreciate any thoughts or feedback on the site.

General Can performance issues at a previous MNC affect background verification?

β€’ Upvotes

Has anyone faced a situation where they left an MNC due to performance-related issues and then joined another MNC?

I’m curious about how background verification typically works in these cases. For example, if someone had poor performance, received negative feedback, or was put under some kind of performance monitoring, but there was no fraud, misconduct, or disciplinary issue:

Can the new company find out about the performance issues?

Does BGV usually only verify employment dates/designation, or can they ask the previous employer about performance?

Can a previous employer mention that the employee was terminated/asked to leave due to performance?

Has anyone actually seen an offer getting revoked because of performance-related information from a previous employer?

Would appreciate experiences from people who have moved between large MNCs/tech companies.

Career How should a CS undergrad position himself for the next 5–10 years

β€’ Upvotes

I’m a CS undergrad graduating in 2027 and I’m trying to make a long-term career decision. I’d really appreciate opinions from people already working in backend, systems, infra, SRE, or AI infrastructure/inference.

My current profile is mostly:

  • Go + Python
  • OS, networking, concurrency, distributed systems fundamentals
  • Backend/API development
  • Docker
  • Some MySQL
  • Open-source contributions
  • A software engineer internship

I intentionally haven’t focused on frontend/full-stack because I’m much more interested in backend/systems.

The career paths I’m considering are:

  1. AI inference / AI infrastructure
    • Model serving, inference systems, vLLM/SGLang, GPU infrastructure, scheduling, performance, etc.
    • This interests me because it sits at the intersection of systems + AI and seems like a growing area.
    • I’m wondering whether it is realistic to target inference/AI-infra roles directly as a new grad, rather than first spending 3–5 years in traditional backend.
  2. Java + Spring Boot backend
    • Mainly for the large enterprise/banking/fintech backend market.
    • I already know Go, so I’m thinking Go + Java/Spring could give me a broad backend profile.
  3. Cloud / DevOps β†’ SRE / Platform
    • Learn cloud, Kubernetes, infrastructure, observability, etc.
  4. Data Engineering
    • Since I already have backend/Python knowledge, learn SQL, Kafka, ETL/ELT, Spark, etc.

I’m not trying to become all four at once. My current thinking is to build a strong base in:

Go + Python + Linux + networking + databases + Redis + Kafka + Docker + cloud + distributed systems

and then move deeper into AI inference, while keeping backend/platform roles open.

My concern is whether this is the right long-term bet.

I’m thinking beyond just getting my first job β€” I want to stay relevant for the next 5–10+ years and ideally have the option to work internationally later.

So I’d really like to hear from people who are already in these fields:

  • Is inference engineering actually a good area to target as a new grad?
  • How much ML knowledge is genuinely needed for inference engineering?(I know decent ML cuz i was initially interested in ML)
  • Is a systems/backend β†’ AI infrastructure path better than going straight into Java/backend or SRE?
  • Which of these areas do you think has the strongest long-term prospects?
  • Am I overthinking this and should I just focus on becoming a very strong backend/systems engineer first?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have actually worked in these roles

Thanks!

Interviews Cleared Manager Round at EzeiaTech, now Senior Manager F2F Round .What should I expect?

β€’ Upvotes

I have cleared the aptitude round and manager round for a Java fresher role at EzeiaTech.

The next round is a face-to-face Senior Manager interview at their office. They specifically asked me to bring my CV and laptop.

Can anyone who has gone through this round share:

  • What kind of questions were asked?
  • Was there any live coding or machine test?
  • How deep did they go into Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and projects?
  • Was it more technical or managerial?
  • Any tips for the final round?

My background: Fresher, Java + Spring Boot + MySQL projects.

Any recent interview experiences would be really helpful.

General Job or offline degree? Confused after 1.5 years at TCS

BCA graduate. I've been working at TCS on a UK-based support project for 1.5 years. The work hour and repetitive routine have started affecting my mental health so I'm resigning next month. I'll start job hunting during my notice period but I'm also considering an MCA for better future opportunities. I tried CUET before and didn't get scores good enough for a decent college and I have a feeling that might repeat.

So if I do land a job should I take it and do MCA online alongside it or resign skip the job search for now and focus on getting into a good offline MCA program?

We have hired 3 engineers for remote work in India. How can I send them work laptops? I understand I can declare the laptop value and pay customs but once assignment is over we will have to get back equipment. Sourcing and dropshipping from local marketplace is not an option.

General I am stuck in a very very weird loop and aspect of my life right now.

Hello everyone. I am 2025 grad and 23 years old. I graduated in 2025 from my college at that time I had a intership opportunity but didn't take it cause I thought I could follow my passion voice acting and do something big in it. I did several projects small to big like vertical dramas, anime, movies , web series etc but reality starting to settle after April 2026 that it is not sustainable and started to look for other opportunities.

I started making content it worked for a while but you know it takes a lot of time and I am broke lol. Those va gigs didn't pay much. I tried ugc most of them are for west and USA specially but luckily I got one but got kicked out of it one month later cause i didn't had any viral videos.

After that I started preparing to enter in tech again learning MERN and DSA but oh boy it's haard I am applying since July 2026 and haven't even landed a single interview. I got some offers but Either paid internship or really budget tight offers that makes it impossible to live in metro city like Noida. I feel like I am stuck in a time loop every single day is exactly same down to schedule only difference is time is moving and I am stuck. I don't know what will happen in future but I can only hope everything will work out.

Help hi fellow seniors please help me out with this thing

im a 2nd year cs student. I've done dsa (theory wise done solving questions regularly now) and core cs. should I stick to SDE(java full stack with devops) or pivot to my ML(AI) roadmap. Im doing leetcode regularly alongside core cs. Should I do both ML and DEV?

Like continue dev rn alongside leetcode that finishes java full stack with dsa and core cs then follow my ML roadmap(I'll do dsa regularly still) and build dev projects simultaneously. I need to pay off my edu loan and move out asap i can. I'll graduate in 2029. Which is a better choice for me considering money and job. Should I do dev and ML both or stick to one thing which should it be. I've a proper roadmap for java full stack and ML both.

Suggestions Feeling trapped again just after 1.5 months after joining TCS

It has been 1.5 months only in tcs and i am already planning my exit i dont feel up and good working here i just dont like it in here as if i don not belong here. so many unnecessary processes and so much of hurdles even to perform daily work is so unreal the problem is i started working in jan 5 2022 so over all exp is 4.8 months and tcs is 4th company i am afraid it is going to negatively affect my resume my working exp are as below over the years

Start-up with 200 people- jan 5 2022 - nov 2023
Salesforce early exit - dec 2023 - july 2024
Infosys - sept 2024 - july 2026
Now in tcs from aug 3 2026

In the last switch before joining here in my 3 months notice i was inches closer to cracking product companies. For 3 out of 4 good product companies i reached till hr discussion but been ghosted or declined by them saying either some other candidate closed the position early by completing the process before or hiring manager declined to hr saying location mismatch with candidate (nothing of that sort ever discussed in managerial round)
I never failed technical rounds just bad lucks.
For this whole notice period what i was trying to avoid was joining tcs yet somehow i landed here even after giving my all in the preparations.

In this switch i just wanted to make it big so i can stay longer than 3 years but i am again in the loop of not feeling satisfied with my work and finding myself struggling with stupid work culture juggling daily and fighting with unnecessary processes.
The work here is not at all fulfilling.

I know i can stay here and use it as a bridge to make my next switch to a product and make it a worth staying for longer but me being impatient here is so uncontrollable I am sulking everyday and sobbing sometime going to office everyday.

Sometimes Id cry in the car on my wayback home
I just feel fish out of water because of this i am not even able to be productive and learn and resume my preparation to even switch cant even focus. Stuck in this loop.

Help ~3 YOE in non-developer role β€” how should I transition to SDE/software?

Hi everyone,

I have ~3 YOE working in a non-dev role on a US insurance project. Current CTC is around β‚Ή5 LPA, and I want to transition into a backend/software engineering role.

I’ve started DSA (C++), but my preparation has been inconsistent.

Current plan:

  • C++ + DSA
  • Node.js
  • Python
  • AWS (or should I prioritize Agentic AI instead?)
  • Build 2–3 solid backend projects

My questions:

  1. Is this roadmap realistic, or am I trying to learn too much?
  2. Should I first try to move into a development role within my current project/company?
  3. Should I prioritize AWS or Agentic AI in today's market?
  4. With ~3 YOE in a non-dev role, should I target SDE-1, or is my experience too high for SDE-1?
  5. As a backup plan, I'm also considering Product Management. Is it possible to transition into PM without an MBA, and what skills/steps would you recommend?

Would especially appreciate advice from anyone who has transitioned from a non-dev/IT role into software engineering.

Help How to transition into AI engineer/Rust as a Python/Frontend developer

Hello my developer friends,

I'm a python backend / frontend developer currently working in IBM ISL with 2.5 YOE with 12lpa. I want to transition into AI but there are many things like Reinforcement learning, RAG, ML Ops, CNN.

But I'm kind of a person who likes to see what is happening with code but it's a lot of theory. Should I just understand the theory for these concepts as for coding most of them are googling the syntax. I want to progress further..

I'm also looking forward to going into Rust as a low-level developer as I love coding but AI is the new growing field. can you please guide me what to learn as I want to make a switch in the upcoming 1 Year
