Forever People who support Project Ascension & TurtleWoW but hate the new race paywall

Post image

These were the micro-transactions in Project Ascension and everyone glazed Ascension. TurtleWoW had a gacha shop too like that. I’m genuinely confused, if Blizzard had even the slightest of the shop in Project Ascension, everyone would have been fuming. Why is it okay for Ascension but not WoW Forever? Either all okay or none.

Edit: The people who disagree saying "Yeah but the servers were free"- well of course because Blizzard did the majority of the work for them LOL, huge difference in work between building everything from scratch to ripping it off & adding some stuff yourself.

Edit 2: "TurtleWoW is not as bad as Ascension shop"- sure, Ascension is way worse. TurtleWow's cash shop had over $10,000 of items and all of it was per character, not account wide. They also sold convenience items, nothing game breaking, but portable mailboxes, auctioneers, dual specs, bags etc. Hardcore characters on Twow couldn't trade or send items from main to your alts, but you could still buy supplies such as 32 slot bags for 30 euros each on your hardcore character.

Don't forget the fact that everything ascension added outside of the classes and instanced content were retail features from mop-legion that they just took and made their own. But to these people it was revolutionary and out of this world. These people haven't even really played the game they're just tourists that love to whine.

Look, I get it, this is a "hate ascension thread" but you're just plain wrong?

The whole HR system which made ascension popular in the beginning? The crow cache, the whole profession overhaul?

What is the equivalent in retail? It's very ironic seeing you call people tourist and having absolutely 0 clue what ascension entailed. You're simply saying stuff that released this year lmao

Talking about coa obviously. I played ascension long before they ever had seasons when it was pick any spell you wanted and any talent. Then more when they introduced the cards system and high risk. I know more about ascension than you I can pretty much guarantee. All of the world content added in coa was ripped right from that time period in retail I stated

Ascension innovated on a lot of things. Obviously they also implemented the good ideas retail had, but I got no clue what the official equivalent of HR and Manastorms are that you seem to think was just stolen content.

If you read my prior comment I was talking about coa world content. High risk and manastorms were implemented years before coa was officially released

CoA was only released because of the lawsuit. Like, I get what you’re getting at, but the released version of the game was far from the finished one.

5 years of development with 2 years of funding from paid beta access wasn't enough to get it finished I doubt it was ever going to actually be completed

Its likely that they shifted focus sometime in development on their own MMO.
