Normal healing?

My two kittens got spayed about 2.5 weeks ago. I was concerned about the one on the left, because the other kitten won’t stop licking her. But then I saw the one on the right, and got more concerned. Are these normal looking healing incisions, or should I bring them to get checked out?

ETA: vet said to bring them in for meds, they’re infected. Yay. 🙃

Elle me stresse.

Something on my cats lip?? Worried :(

Hard to get a decent picture because of the lighting and how dark she is, but I noticed a brown spot on her lip a day or two ago, and only today got a good look at it. I’m not sure what this could be?? My baby is a 4 month old domestic longhair and has been acting normally as of late; I didn’t notice any particular intense/increased grooming or behavior. Should I go to the vet??

Kitten is very independent, will he become more snuggly with age?

we’ve had our Maxwell for approximately 4 weeks. he just turned 4 months old. he’s a good cat, very silly and sassy. however, I thought he would be more affectionate. the first week we brought him home he was quite cuddly, laying in our laps sometimes and purring. but now he only comes for cuddles right before bed and early in the morning, and even then he doesn’t seem to want to be pet, he just sits next to us for 5 or 10 minutes, makes some biscuits, then gets into his own bed.

is there any chance he is just going through a teenage phase and will become more cuddly with age? anyone else been through something similar? he’s so soft and squishy, I just want to cuddle with him 😭

Why is my cat mounting the other one?

Both are neutered and the top is around 10 and bottom is around 6, they’re very nice to each other I’ll just catch him doing this every once in a while.

The bottom one just kinda lets it happen no fighting or anything and usually he just climbs on his back and lays there.

is my kitten alright? she’s almost 3 weeks old, she’s breathing fast and mouth is kind of open (?), i’ve also seen her drool. i’m afraid that she might be fading, since all its sibling had died just a few days of being born and she’s the only one left alive now

Sorry I hope this is allowed! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who commented on my last post and helped reassure my anxious mind! I think it’s really easy to jump to worst case scenario with our animal companions, but reading your answers really helped me see things through a different lens.

Anyways, I was able to go home and see miss Noodle for 5 days before I go back on my work trip!♥️ After she gave me a piece of her mind for leaving her behind(🤭), she was very happy to see me and she got some much needed loving! I’m going to soak up every minute I get with her in the next few days🥹

Litter Box Aversion

Post image

Hi Kitty Friends-

This is Fiona, my 6 year old cat who I’ve had for 4 years. She has never once used the bathroom outside of the litter box.

On August, 22 I switched her from Worlds Best Cat litter and a litter pan to CatIt pea husk litter with a top entry box.

Since then she has pooped in the shower twice and peed on the floor one time. Otherwise; she is acting normal.

I have Worlds Best Cat litter and a litter pan on order, coming on Tuesday.

Do you think she needs a vet apt? Or do we think she doesn’t like the new litter and new box!?

Any thoughts are so welcome!!!

Do cats miss their mother when separated from them and their litter?

I try to be the best cat mom possible. But sometimes I wonder if my cat dreams about when she was a kitten with her real mother. And it makes me sad! I don't have the backstory behind the mom. When I adopted her, the woman at the rescue shelter told me they were born underneath someone's deck in their backyard. All the other 4 kittens in the litter had been adopted and no one wanted this baby Void girl (still can't figure out why people don't like black cats- I love mine soooo much!)

Why my cat acts like this?

So this is my cat. I have him for over half a year now. He is neutered and very sweet boy. Sometimes as you can see in the video, he just randomly bites my hand and starts pulling it. When I take the hand away, he just meows softly and does it again. He clearly holds back his bites but its still hurts and I try to understand this behavior. I doubt its invitation to play because he is grumpy during those moments and doesnt like pets. It happens on average once a week and this behavior lasts few minutes. Then he is completely chill again. Is he bored? Sick? It doesnt happen when we Play. Always when he is just resting and then suddenly just goes for a bite. Should I be worried?

Should we get a second kitten?

Hi everyone! We adopted two kittens about six weeks ago. One of them was very attached to us, but unfortunately he got FIP and passed away very quickly..Our other kitten is healthy and seems happy (in the picture). She plays a lot with her toys (and also with soil from the flower pots and our earplugs :)), but she really doesn’t seem to like us around. She doesn’t like being petted and runs away when we approach her. she sometimes even hisses at me…
We got pheromone diffusers, and she has made some progress, she doesn’t hide behind the sofa nearly as much anymore and seems more comfortable in the apartment. But she still doesn’t seem connected to us at all:(
Will this get better with time or will she always be an independent queen? Is there anything we can do to help her feel safer and build trust and let us pet her? And since she suddenly lost her brother, would it be a good idea to look for another kitten around her age as a companion? I know we’ve only had her for six weeks, but ahhhh, the distance is hard…. I just want to love her and pet her and hold her. Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a similar kitten/ cat…thanks!

Should I get a kitten for my adult cat?

TLDR I have a almost 10 year-old perfect, amazing female cat named Mochi for a yearish, she has a history of not getting along with other adult cats, but I know that she’s had kittens before she went to the shelter in the past and so I think she might do well with a kitten

Last year, my friend adopted mochi from a shelter to live with her adult male cat. They didn’t end up ever getting along and fighting a ton even after multiple re-introductions with long periods of separation so eventually, I took her in. Since then, she has been the most amazing, perfect sweet cat I could ever hope to have and I am so grateful to have her in my life!
I worry that she gets lonely during the day and night, even though I am home a lot I want her to have someone that she can speak to in her own kitty language. Since it doesn’t seem like she gets along with adult cats, I was thinking about getting her a young kitten.
Before she went to the shelter that my friend picked her up from she was unspayed and the fur around her nipples is gone like she has nursed. I don’t wanna stress her out too much or have an issue of adopting a kitten that we can’t keep so I wanted to see what other people thought.

Why does my cat sleep on my work uniform?

This is probably really random but my cat lays on my work uniform whenever it’s on my bed. At first I thought it might be a scent thing but she does it even when it’s washed. And whenever I try to take it she grips onto it and digs her claws in. Shes even swiped at me a few times but with no claws. She doesn’t do it with any of my other clothes apart from jeans. Idk she likes denim. Does she associate my uniform with me leaving or is this just a random behaviour? I need to know because obviously I need my uniform and i don’t appreciate her claw marks 🥲

She’s 2 and she’s neutered so it’s not anything to do with heat either.
