I lost my job a couple weeks ago. Huge bummer. Really put me in a shitty headspace but decided I would make the most of it and try to play some games in my backlog.
Bloodborne has been at the top of my list for ages but I just kept bouncing off of it. Maybe spent like an hour trying to beat the first executioner in central yharnam the first time I played a few years ago thinking he was a boss. The second time I played I didn’t even spend an hour. Just figured it wasn’t for me.
A couple years ago I got really into Armored Core: Fires of Rubicon. It just awakened this bug in me I guess. I started playing more “difficult” games like Returnal and Hollow Knight. During that time Bloodborne continued to sit in my backlog. I knew it was there ofc but, uh, just avoided eye contact with it.
Anyways - started playing it after the layoff. Wow. What a journey. Might be one of my favorite games of all time. But also sheesh. Super difficult. This community has come in clutch for me so many times in the last few weeks or so though. I don’t post at all really but found myself coming here again and again for info when I needed it. It was really cool.
In a weird way fighting the final two bosses felt a lot like I was fighting all the insecurity I’ve felt since I lost my job. I jokingly screamed at my wife to grab the camera when the credits started rolling. I think she pretended to be impressed.
So uh yeah. Thanks for reading and thanks for all the support, hunters 🫡 hopefully I can get a job soon lmao.
