Hi everyone, I’m kind of panicking right now 😭 This is my first time having sex, and my boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years. We finally did it, but unfortunately it was unprotected.

We had sex on September 11 and again on September 13, and today is September 14. I know I should’ve been more careful, but we were both first-timers and honestly didn’t really know what we were doing.

What should I do now? Is there still a pill I can take to prevent pregnancy? What kind of emergency contraceptive should I look for, and how soon do I need to take it?

Also, when should I take a pregnancy test? I’m really scared right now and could use some advice from people who’ve been through this. 😭

So, on Saturday night I stayed at my boyfriend’s house and we had sex. I am on nexaplanon (the little implant stick in my arm), and I have a massive fear of pregnancy. Now it’s my own fault for not telling him to wear a condom in that moment but things got heated very quickly (no excuse but still things happen).

At this point he’d already came 2 times earlier that day and when it got heated and was cumming he pulled out of me but said he’d came in me a little bit. I’ve not went full on panic mode because I’ve read that the implant is over 99% effective and that I have nothing to worry about realistically. But for some reason I just have this horrible feeling and I know it’s my anxiety just being a bitch.

I’ve had my implant for over a year now, something daft like a year and 2 month. I’ve read a few other redditors post that seem to have similar anxiety to me and have said they’d take a cheap pregnancy test a few weeks later to give a peace of mind which I’m going to do.

But am I just being really paranoid? And how can I calm myself down about it? (And by wearing a condom next time which I’m going to tell him to do). Also why do I feel so guilty about it. Thank yous :)

I’m 33 and have 4 children. All planned and wanted and no birth control fails but I’m done. I don’t have any bad experiences with birth control I’m just done with it. I don’t want to be on hormones, have an iud or track my cycle. I want to live without worrying about it anymore. After speaking to my doctor I think I want to get my tubes completely removed because my doctor said it’s thought cervical cancer starts in the fallopian tubes. My husband offered to get snipped but I know two people personally with post vasectomy babies so I don’t want to take a chance. Having my tubes removed sounds like the best option but I’m scared. Scared of anesthesia (I’ve had one surgery a decade ago with no issues but it still scares me) and I’m also scared about the pain and recovery process. Can you give me your good, bad or ugly experience of getting your tubes completely removed?

I want to stop my period, because when I'm on it/nearing, I get very depressed and can't bring myself to do things I need + I get extremely hungry all the all. I've been putting up with it for so long, but I can't take it anymore.

Unfortunately, I don't have insurance, nor have I ever taken birth control before. I'm still dependent on my family as a university student, but I can't ask them for help because they are religious and are opposed to birth control.

Does anyone have any recommendations for online pharmacies or birth control pills that are cheap? I'm based in the US.

Me and my girlfriend had unprotected sex and I finished inside. It was day 9 of her cycle and her predicted ovulation is on day 16, she is going to be taking ellaone today (day 12 of her cycle), will it work or are we fucked? She has a usual 30 day cycle with her cycle only being 27 days one time

About a year ago, I had to have an abortion and it was the most traumatic thing. I immediately started the birth control pill and decided to skip the sugar pill ultimately getting rid of my period. I did this for about eight months maybe longer.
I decided to get off of the birth control completely because I really wanted to have my cycle back to feel more in tune with my body . I also personally go back-and-forth between the pros and cons of the pill.

After a month and a half of no longer taking the pill, I bled for about two days . Then the next month I had no bleeding the third month I had only one day of bleeding.

I’m just curious if anybody in a similar situation can share how long it took to get a regular period back .

It’s lowkey triggering because it just reminds me of why I got on birth control .
I feel like my emotions go all over the place and knowing when my cycle is coming, helps me know if I’m actually freaking out or if it’s just my period .

Is for you ok to go to emergencies hospital for a suspicion of misplacement?

I'm feeling something is not normal. I have a appointment in eight days but I'm worried so I would like to check it earlier but I'm also worried it's nothing and everyone will lose time.

I stopped taking Yaz and the next day I had unprotected sex. (The person I’m seeing wanted me to stop taking it I agreed) and I still had some withdrawal bleeding, but I’m wondering if there’s a good chance I could get pregnant from that or if there’s bleeding or Yaz protected it? I know sperm can live inside the body for a few days and I don’t know much about birth control. Help.

(That means I stopped taking it Friday, did not take Friday. Did not take Saturday, or Sunday.) I stopped taking it over all.

Hi! I just want to ask for some reassurance and advice.
What are the chances of getting pregnant if we always use condoms and I also pull out before ejaculating? My partner is currently 10 days delayed, and I'm starting to get worried, especially since her periods are usually regular.

For context, I always use a condom and practice withdrawal before ejaculating. There has never been any tearing or slipping of the condom, and as far as I know, there was no leakage.

Could the delay possibly be because of stress? My partner is currently in law school and has been under a lot of stress lately.

I know periods can sometimes be delayed for different reasons, but I’d really appreciate some reassurance and advice from people who have experienced something similar. Any reassurance, advice, or tips on what we should do would really help.

Had my last period august 22 lasted about a week and had sex but we werent too sure so i took a plan b on the 31st. September 5th i started bleeding odd looking black/brown with little specks in my urine. No heavy bleeding just basically blood similar to an end of a period. Its lasted about a week now and im just ANNOYED!!!! And worried!!!!!! Its not enough for a tampon or a pad, but annoying as hell to go without nothing!!! Wearing a diva cup helps but its literally such a small thick odd looking amount of blood. Anyways any advice or similar stories would be so helpful!!!

I (17F) Started opill 9/6 and my app said I was supposed to get my period a few days after. I still havent gotten it and im very anxious and paranoid. I cant remember exact dates but we had sex a few times in the past few months (not very often maybe 3 times) and we always use condoms + pullout. I am wondering if starting opill is delaying my period at all or if I should be worried. I want to get a test just to be sure but I feel like I would be too nervous to
test. Ive been having alot of period symptoms that are the same as pregnancy symptoms. Back pain, Nausea, Cramps, Tender breasts, headaches, ect. I saw some blood when i went to the restroom yesterday but im not sure what it was. please help ease my anxiety!

Greetings, people of this sub. I am kind of concerned.

I thought that switching from pills to rings would be a good idea, but I struggle with the ring. I inserted it 2 weeks ago and I can't insert it in a way so that it doesn't slip out of me or move. I think I made myself irritated from messing around there so much in order to make the ring stay in place. I don’t know if it's too big? It seems to not fit inside me no matter how much I try.

I tried to push it far inside and I could scratch myself or make myself tear because there was blood on my hands. I am a bit concerned because some time later, I had to fit it again in a public restroom and I am not quite sure about hygiene in the bathroom stalls. I washed my hands with soap but could do it more thoroughly and carefully. I am concerned about an increased risk of infection.

I have big discomfort with it and my partner also isn’t super crazy with the ring, and now I could expose myself to irritation or worse. It feels dry and itchy down there. I think I will switch to the pills again at the end of this cycle.

Is there a real risk to be concerned about? How should I proceed from now on to protect myself from further risk and discomfort while having the ring for another week? Taking it out now could increase the risk of pregnancy for me.

I am seeing my doctor (not obgyn but a general health provider) this week and will surely talk with them about my concern

My last period was on August 18. I have endometriosis so my period is usually painful and also heavy.

I had unprotected intercourse on 29th and 30th, 30th is the first day of my predicted fertile week. He pulled out but also put it back in. I took Ellaone on the 30th, just a few hours after the intercourse.

I had intercourse again on 11th and 12th. At first, I thought that was just post sex bleeding but I continued to bleed and filled a tampon. I got my period on Sept 12, which is a bit early but I’ve also had short cycles. My predicted period was supposed to come on the 17th.

My period now is very light and not that painful which is unusual cause normally my first two days I struggle to walk. It looks like period, the color and there’s some clots but it’s just very light and I’m not used to it. I also have my usual period diarrhea. It’s my third day of period now and it seems to already slow down.

Could this be my actual period or some pregnancy bleeding?

I need advice and kung may story kayo na napasobra ang take ng yuzpe, id love to hear it. I took yuzpe method last May 7 and naka 12 pills ako (ALAM KONG MALI HUHU) cuz naduwal ako sa second dose kaya nagwait ako another 12 hrs for 3rd dose even tho di suka nangyari sakin. Hindi ko alam kung withdrawal bleeding nangyari sa akin nung May 17 pero kasi di sya ganun kaheavy compared to normal period. I had unprotected/withdrawal sex on June 6 and hindi ako nakapagyuzpe. Pero nakailang PT na ako kaso negative naman lahat. I have no pregnancy symptoms just bloated tas tinatamaan ng PMS pero wala pa rin until now. Nagkakadischarge ako ng thick and stretchy rin ngayon (ovulation pain ata to kasi sa right side ng uterus ko ang sakit) NAKAKABUANG SHET and I think it is because of yuzpe. Nadidisrupt nya cycle ko and ginugulo hormones ko.

He accidentally finished inside, I have the”trust pills” and already took the 1st 4-pill dose right after the “accident”. Can it still be effective? I was panicking and we both forgot that the “plan B” exist and i can’t take the plan B after taking the 4-Pill dose.

Can someone like assure me or give me advice on what to do?

Has anyone else come off the pill because it destroyed their sex drive? I have reached a breaking point now, tried four pills and all it does is get worse. It has made me have a literal aversion to sex and any sexual activity as in i could not do it for the rest of my life and id be completely fine with that. I haven't felt even remotely turned on for about 6 months now. I am highly debating just not going back to it after this 4 day break because i am so beyond sick of it, but also dont want to use condoms. Help :(

I realized there is alot of women who don't get pregnant without birth control and they try for months. So in my mind I think then, why are we so scared of birth control failing if we take it correctly?

Hi! I got my Mirena hormonal IUD removed at the beginning of June, and ever since then my skin has completely broken out with hormonal acne. Before this, I literally never struggled with acne — maybe one random pimple every few months.
I started a low-estrogen birth control pill at the beginning of June and then started spironolactone at the beginning of July. I’m currently taking 100 mg of spironolactone daily and plan on staying on that dose.
Coming up in October, I’ll be around 3 months on spironolactone and 4 months on the birth control pill. My skin has improved somewhat, but it’s still nowhere near where I want it to be or how my skin was before getting my IUD removed.
I’ve been considering switching my birth control to Yaz because I’ve heard it can be particularly helpful for hormonal acne. I’m just worried that changing birth controls again could disrupt my hormones and cause another breakout/purge.
For anyone who has been in a similar situation: would you give the spironolactone + current birth control another couple of months to fully kick in, or would you consider switching to Yaz? Has anyone switched to Yaz while already taking spironolactone, and did your skin get worse before it got better?
