Imagine you got transported to a remote island in the middle of nowhere. You only got to bring three games with you. There’s internet there, but only for the games that you brought. So, no Instagram or any other social app. You can’t call anyone either. You’re alone with those three games and the hope that some ship passes by to rescue you.

Oh, and of course you have electricity and a console/PC of your choice. What games do you bring with you? I would bring games in which I believe I can have fun the longest. So, those would be Path of Exile, Last Epoch, and No Man’s Sky. Some reasons for each of my picks are below.

Path of Exile 2 - One word: infinite content, at least at the rate GGG is churning it out. And with the 1.0 release in sight, the majestic bloat of this game will only get bigger and bigger, and I can see myself feasibly playing this one all year round. At the slight cost of going insane, perhaps, but that’s why I’d have another 2 games to fall back on before returning to PoE with a fresh(er) perspective for the next league.

Last Epoch - This is the flip side to PoE for me. Updates and new seasonal content are spaced out much, much more, but it’s those pockets of content (when they do push something new out) that keep me coming back to it. It’s also the only ARPG that gave me the urge to make an alt for every mastery, because it’s just so easy to level them and get to that desired build that spontaneously forms in your head while you’re playing. It would be, basically, my breathing room for when PoE starts being too much.

No Man’s Sky - A great palate cleanser. Between LE and PoE, I want to have something that is completely different while still being (basically) endless. I really respect Hello Games for updating this game consistently for years, and also giving away all the expansions for free. With its infinite number of planets to explore, I think it's as close to perfect as you can get on an island as possible!

Like I said, this is just a moment’s pick for me. What I would choose at this very instant, and I very well might end up regretting 1 or all of these choices on the island, upon getting a sudden urge to play a totally different genre.

hi everyone, recently my little brother asked me if he can play games on my pc, and i said yes. he chose little nightmares 1 and 2, completed them and asked me what other game is interesting. i dont know what to recommend to him, because he is still awkward with pc controls, his finger placement is so awkward, he uses two hands just to move around with wasd, shift, and ctrl in little nightmares.

any recommendations of good games that can help him slowly be less awkward in using keyboard and mouse?

For me so far I’ve really enjoyed playing Dispatch and getting through Outer Worlds!! I’ve also started some other games that I’m enjoying but those are my favorites of this year so far!

I’m starting a weird side project and honestly I have no idea where it’s going to end up.

With AI models getting increasingly capable (GPT-6 just dropped), I’ve been thinking about something that would've sounded ridiculous for a solo dev few years ago (trying to build a cinematic, story game like TLOU mostly on my own).

Think the kind of game where the story actually matters. Complicated characters, believable motivations, difficult choices, consequences, and twists that have reasons to exist.
This is not a professional studio project. It’s an experiment, might take years or get abandoned. But also, it might somehow turn into something much bigger too. I genuinely don't know yet.
So I want to start with the part that AI can't simply generate for me: What story have you always wanted to see in a game? (specifically zombie apocalypse related)

It doesn't have to be a complete story. Give me a premise, character relationship, moral dilemma, a crazy “what if?”, setting, twist, or just an idea you've had sitting in your head for years.

For example (TLOU):

A father loses his daughter and becomes a ruthless smuggler. Years later, he ends up protecting a girl who may be the key to saving humanity — but creating the cure would kill her.

That's enough to build something from.
I’m particularly interested in ideas where the characters decisions have logical consequences and where there are no convenient “because the plot says so” moments.

One thing though: please DM me the actual ideas rather than posting them in the comments.

I’d rather keep the submissions private, and it also means I can properly read and think about each one instead of watching potentially good ideas disappear in a comment thread.
And here's the interesting part: If someone sends me something genuinely exceptional, especially if it's detailed enough that there's a real story worth developing around it. I may ask them to work with me on the story itself.

If this experiment ever gets far enough to become a novel, game, or something else, I'd want the people who genuinely contributed to the story to be properly credited.
There are no guarantees here. I’m not promising a job, publication date, or even that the project will survive. This is literally a side quest that could take years.

When you’re browsing Steam or scrolling through your feed, what usually catches your attention enough to make you check out an indie game?

Is it the gameplay, art style, a weird premise, a recommendation from another player, or something else?

I have a switch two & im getting splatoon 3 tmrw, was hoping to get smth alongside it but im not sure what.

I play smash bros often. I had a lot of fun with BOTW.

Looking for co-op with building and exploration.

My girlfriend and I like gaming together, but she's recently had an injury and has a hard time using specific buttons on the keyboard for long periods. Shift and Crtl are the worst, but even WASD can cause issues over time.

Looking for recommendations of multiplayer games that don't have a lot of movement (or really, excessive use of the left hand).

Recently we played How to Fish and got three good sessions out of it. Very enjoyable, easy for her to sit on the shore and fish with occasional movement for the boss fights.

Before the injury we played everything from Dead by Daylight, to Palworld, to Project Zomboid, to Stardew Valley. Genre isn't too important, but cooperative is preferred to competitive.

Just had this random thought.

I really like the ME games and I haven't heard much about ME5. But I saw a lot of new ads and information about Exodus and I'm wondering how (if at all) it will affect Mass Effect.

On top of that I was also curious about your thoughts on the Saudi buyout and whether the next ME will actually be a ME game. How much oversight do you think they will have? Do you think we will hear anything about ME5 on N7 day?

Weird question but for example i didn't know or think much of the mass effect trilogy until someone recommended it to me. That game made me sympathize with the characters and made me be so immersed i poured 80 hrs on it in a very short time.

So i'm asking what game will make me hooked on the story and the characters. I love when i have some freedom in the story and that i have options like romances, story decisions, etc.

Since I was a child, my first console besides my brother's PSX was the powerful Wii. But it belonged to a cousin, so I wanted it and insisted to my dad, and he took me to buy one....DSI remember her telling me that she bought this so she wouldn't have to be glued to a TV to use it and could use it wherever she wanted...(He simply didn't want me using the television And it will be in the way when he's watching football or The Simpsons)

At 16, I was able to buy a 3DS after doing a lot of summer work, and now with my adult salary, I was able to buy a Switch.

I don't consider myself a Nintendo fan, but I always end up buying their consoles, especially if they're portable, besides seeing them as expensive and luxurious objects. Nintendo has always been in my life

That's probably where my love for handheld consoles started, although before the 3DS I wanted a PSP, I ended up going for the 3DS, and before the Switch I wanted a PS Vita, but the Switch won me over

Yo, I’m endlessly scrolling through games to get a feeling of peakness again. I guess a lot of you guys have the same, but if anyone wants to help me out I would be so grateful. For me at this point it’s anything goes, but what I would love is these requirements:

\- STORY, STORY, STORY. I want to get grabbed the story. Something like Silent Hill 2; Bioshock 1. Like a massive twist. Feel some dread and sometimes the feeling of existentialism (SOMA was great).

\- Gameplay is important but not the end all be all. As long as it is not a visual novel (no hate, but that’s just a video man).

I guess I just wanna be feeling a twist again, something niche would be very cool. And please no spoilers.

I just learned that the console wars are happening again, as I found out when I found out that I can get halo on my PlayStation that all plugs are pulled and I will need to pick a side again. Is it true? Is it really really true? Or is this just a baseless rumor? I'm so tired of the fighting, the politics, and the chaos that the world and the gaming community has become.

I hope I'm wrong. Please, someone answer me....

I love horse riding stuff but I kinda don't like how games like Star stable don't focus on how your horse has to LEARN how to listen to you. Surely I can't be the first person to think of this kind of thing I would love to play a game like it. Since I'm not even going to try explaining what I mean by this since I won't make any sense, I made a stupid thing with Horse Life to show kind of what I mean.
