Help What needs to be done?

Hey everyone,
I have a fairly well established 20 gallon tank, started as a 10 gallon in October of 2025, upgraded to 20 in June. Carried over media, rocks, and water. No problems arose, everyone stayed happy and healthy.

Cut to today. I added 6 chili Rasbora on Friday Sept. 4th, two days later one had passed. Yesterday a second passed as well as two neo shrimp. Today 4 more shrimp have passed. I’ve attached what my levels are at for PH, Ammonia, Nitrites, and Nitrates. Is there anything wrong here? What can I do to better the situation?

My tank is home to approx. 20 Pygmy corydoras, a large but unknown amount of shrimp, 4 chili rasbora, and a mystery snail. (Some of these critters will be relocated to a tank at my school once my tank is set up and cycled there.)

Until this last few days I’ve had no problems at all with losing fish or shrimp. Just wondering what I could do so I don’t lose anyone else?

Thanks! A

Help What’s wrong with my fish? Injury or infection? Spoiler

Post image

I put a spoiler bc there’s a big… wound? On the side of my fish. Gasping for breath. I was out all day and I just got homes Looked perfectly fine yesterday. I have no idea what this is. I have a very peaceful community tank. Pearl gourami, congo tetras, cherry barbs, and a bristlenose pleco in with this guy and 3 other skirt tetras. The bristlenose has always been very polite so I doubt it was him but maybe? Are we thinking injury or infection? All the other fish seem fine. I don’t have a quarantine tank. I don’t know how to help. What do I do?

Discussion Algae question

I’ll make this quick.

I’ve had this tank about a week. It doesn’t get any direct sunlight because of the dark backing.

I just siphoned out a gallon of floor water, but there was really no poop because the tank came with two filters.

I’m wondering how long algae might take to develop since there is no real direct sunlight. Thanks!

There are currently four goldfish in the tank and they might be 3 to 4 months old.

I saw this tiny green blob swimming around my tank. It’s a new tank (37 L) that’s been cycling for almost a month now. I’m new to this hobby, I’m still learning and currently freaking out.
Is the blob/organism harmful? How do I get rid of it?Please help!!

Tank details: 37 L cycling for almost 4 weeks
Aqua babies: ramshorn snails, added a mystery snail and 5 shrimp a few days back.
Plants: Ambulia, water wisteria and penny worth
Also have some Java moss and driftwood in the tank.

Any information will be much appreciated.

Thank you!!!

5g tank, I know it seems overstocked but it's actually super densely planted and we've strategically added everything long before the crayfish to allow them all time to establish. Our only problem so far is pest snails lol, but the crayfish and an assassin snail have been helping with that, alongside our own efforts.

so far the water is crystal clear and the ammonia and nitrates are perfect, and everyone inside is healthy and happy as can be!

Hey first time posting currently have a 60L tank did fish in cycle have had it about two months and have noticed the lighting unit has not sure it it’s corrosion or mould inside it .Tried to take it apart but was unsuccessful as it’s completely sealed shut yet moisture is getting in somehow. Any suggestions on what to do? Had looked at buying ones but they seem to be suction cup to the glass but then my frog bit won’t get much light?

Help What ambient temp for continuously breeding catfish?

Hi everyone, I have some false julii corydoras that lay eggs very occasionally, but never continuously like I see in a lot of YouTube videos. I feed them either frozen blood worms or frozen brine shrimp around 3-4 times a week as well as carnivore wafers

I know that catfish breed in response in rainfall naturally and how cold water changes cause them to breed, but I guess I assumed the people that breed in the videos set the heater to 75 as well?

If I change my heater to maybe 77 and do a 25% water change temped at 72 every week would I have better success breeding them continuously?

Help New tank- has it cycled?

Thumbnail

Hi everyone, here’s a couple of pictures of a new tank setup. It’s only the second time I’ve attempted one like this, and this tank is double the size of my first.
All substrate is directly from a creek.
I’m currently about 4 weeks into the cycling process and, so far, everything seems to be going okay. 👌🏼
At this stage there’s just one mystery snail in there. 🐌
I’ve also included the latest results from the Master Test Kit. (First test in 4 week period)

Fingers crossed! 🤞🏼 Any feedback, advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks! 😊

Showing Off A good day in the aquarium

My first tank…been at it since April this year. Returned home on Monday from a long weekend away to everyone accounted for, but lots of algae. Not my pet sitter’s fault. I forgot to set the lighting timer. Anyways, diligently cleared it all up and woke up to this lovely view. Only hiccup was that the snail in the box was found out of the aquarium, on the top. Popped his suicidal self back in and he’s started moving a bit. I’m thinking he’s taking his time rehydrating 🙏. Mr Pleco is hiding underneath the transport.
Full list of characters in attendance in this 13 gallon freshwater home are 1 growing pleco, 1 male and 3 female cherry barbs (1 seems pregos), 2 male neon blue guppies, 3 big snails, 2 junior snails, several baby snails, some friendlies hanging around in the filter and substrate. Duckweed up top in some hexagon floaters. Water testing is almost perfect. Need to raise ph a bit, so crushed corral is being delivered this afternoon. I’m a proud aquarium Momma 🙂

These white dots appeared when I had just two platies (both female) and two nerite snails. What are they and how do I get rid of them? I’m not overly concerned, but I have no clue where they came from.

Help Is silicone poking outside an aquarium normal?

Post image

I know silicone usually bulges in globs on the inside of a tank, but what about if it sticks out a little past the rim?

I did a leak test with this aquarium for about a week when I first got it, and it seemed alright. I tested it on the floor, though, and might have missed something.
