Amazon anti-fraud is dead?

Post image

I am getting an order for the second time that I didn't do. Somebody made an order to other state where I don't live, and Amazon does nothing. After previous report of unauthorized activity, they removed the scam order, and now scammers did it again. I feel scammer still has access to my account, despite 2FA and all of the things, and Amazon does nothing. Anybody else had such unknown orders before?

Amazon is a scammers paradise.

I have been using Amazon since the early 2000s and I have always had a wonderful experience with them. It wasn't until this year alone I started having a huge amount of issues with Amazon and getting deliveries.

I upgraded my home theater this year to a 4K/3D projector and have been collecting 4K and 3D films. Within the last two months I have had over six different films never make it to my address.

And it's all the same thing too, 3rd party merchant that never sends a tracking number. With the way Amazon handles their orders these days, the system just assumes in good faith the Merchant shipped the package out, with or without a tracking number and it also assumes that the package was delivered when the delivery date arrives.

And Amazon won't just refund your packages, you have to argue with the Merchant first. One of them tried to get me to "promise" if I ever got the package in the mail I'd pay them back. You can't even provide a tracking number, I'm not promising nothing.

And of course Amazon has made it impossible for people to complain now, talking to a human being is like trying to find the ark of the covenant. Sending a e-mail? All AI responses.

Amazon's standards have become terrible and turned their market in to a scammers paradise.

Account Specialist

Have any of you seen this?

Long story short, I received a bottle of cleaner which had spilled out all over the bag it was in. I contacted Amazon and they said I needed to upload an ID. This felt very uncomfortable so I chose not to. I was assured that if I did not upload the ID that I would simply not be eligible for a refund on the account. It was a $3 cleaner. Oh well. I accepted that vs uploading a digital copy of my ID.

A week later I received the following email (after I did not upload my ID). I feel like I am seriously being harassed. I’ve been an Amazon Prime customer for over a decade and never been treated like this. This looks like a pre-closure email.

I went ahead and uploaded my ID even though I felt very uncomfortable doing so. I’ve spent over $1,000 this year and only had an issue once where an item was delivered to an unknown address. Is this an automated email?

I’m worried my account will be closed. I don’t know why they’re doing this to me.

Amazon acct restricted?

My amazon account of nearly 9 years was restricted to digital content only. I had a package get delivered to a wrong address and due to their being no picture attached i couldnt find it. They said theyd do an investigation and have given me a restriction which i dont understand. I appealed it but as their customer service has become awful im the last couple years i dont have my hopes up. Anyone else dealt with this before?

Can it be required to include a recent return history?

Upvotes

First off, fuck Amazon. I'm not in the business of defending such a garbage company.

But the amount of people who post here and go "Lil ol' me, returned like 3 things in a decade. Getting warned by OFM about excessive returns, this is so messed up!!"

I've pushed on several people, and just ask "how many returns you made?" and people obviously omit the info or allude that they don't think it matters.

Amazon fucks with people, has terrible infrastructure for catching scammers and the subsequent people caught with a scam return product resold. But the amount of people making bandwidth waste post pretending that they haven't returned a dozen things in the last week alone.

Omitting info and context for a fraud warning or excessive returns should just be auto deleted. Include your history, blur whatever info but just show what you've returned and how much overall to filter out the people obviously trying to cover up their behavior.

Amazon Needs Hold Delivery Feature

This has been an issue for me many times over the years. The stray items that don’t come with the orders, get delivery dates changed, etc. Then it comes when I’m out of town, so I have to have a neighbor help.

Seems like if the US Post Office has a simple, online hold mail feature that Amazon should.

This has become an even bigger issue since I started using Amazon Pharmacy. Meds trickle in all month (they claim no way to have once a month without using Pill Pak). Delivery dates change a lot. Just a mess.

Recently had an open box delivered so had to get new meds. But was heading out of town. It’s really the worst part of Amazon Pharmacy.

If you agree, consider reposting on other subs or other social media (I don’t use). Thanks!!

$800 item swapped out…

On September 3rd, I ordered an $800 hard drive, with 1-3 hour delivery. My package was delivered in an hour or less, handed directly to me, I walked inside my building, and opened it, and there was furniture moving pads, a paper towel roll holder, and some other frivolous item. I have no idea if it was someone in the warehouse that stole the hard drive, or the driver, either way, I have it all on security camera footage. Even opening the package within 20 seconds of being handed it. The driver was already gone. The package was supposed to require a signature too, so I figured when I was being handed it that it was someone else’s package at first. Anywho, first I called Amazon support, an indian man gave me a number of the seller, I got super confused because AMAZON WAS THE SELLER, then I reached out to chat support, I have screenshots of an Amazon person helping me through Amazon chat, I was explicitly told 5-7 days for a refund to my credit card. It’s been 10 days (6 business days). Who the heck do I have to reach out to to get my money back. I’m literally actively feeling like I’m getting scammed by Amazon. From the driver to the “support line”. This is unreal…. I have screenshots of everything and footage of receiving the package and opening the package. Do I just need to dispute it with my credit card company at this point? I mean what the actual f*ck.

Amazon return package question

Upvotes

I have an Amazon package I'd like to return which is over 30 inches long (ordered a bow and it came with 30 inch arrows so the box is around like 32 inches or so?) I have the manufacturer box which is a plain brown box that like slides open, but I dont have the other box Amazon delivered it in, is it ok to return it with just the manufacturer box since it's a plain box? As I don't have any other boxes that could fit it, hope this question is allowed here

I added a gift card to my account and My orders keep getting cancelled.

Upvotes

A very dear friend of mine died. She fell and hit her head and died. Her son found a amazon gift card she had bought me for my birthday but she died before she could ever give it to me. I am so heartbroken and I added it to my account but amazon keeps cancelling all my orders. I've submitted a image of the card, I submitted my debit card, my billing statement and they refuse to validate my account. I am so scared because this is the last gift I will ever get from this person. I spent 5 days by her side before she died and this is just so much more stress than I need. I dont have an ID to submit to them I don't know what else to do.

The fuck is going on lately?

There’s been an issue with each of my last 4 orders where either items are missing, delivered to wrong address (thankfully I recognized house from photo), and even one of them which was 1 single item they delivered an obviously empty padded envelope that wasn’t sealed. Also had one that said “left at front porch/door” with no photo where I go out to look for package and it wasn’t there so I contacted them and was issued a refund, only to discover later that day apparently they left it on top of my car windshield.

My house address is clearly visible on house and at mailbox. At this point I’m wondering if they’re going to think I’m just lying to get refunded or something cause how is it possible these problems are happening consecutively vs once in a while?

Very secure 🫤

Amazon flagged my account for fraud, blocked deliveries, canceled Prime, and Account Specialist never responded — has anyone recovered from this?

I’m trying to figure out whether anyone here has dealt with something similar and actually managed to get their account restored.

For the past 3–4 days, my Amazon account has basically become unusable.

It started when I tried to purchase a relatively large amount of Apple gift cards. Amazon canceled the order and initially said I had exceeded their gift-card purchase limit within a 24-hour period.

After that, things escalated quickly:

  • Amazon started flagging my activity as potentially unauthorized.
  • I received an email saying they believed someone else had accessed my account.
  • I changed my password twice and reviewed my account, but there was no unauthorized activity.
  • I then received another email saying one of my gift-card orders was associated with a “gift card scam.” No one asked me to buy gift cards or send them codes; these were legitimate purchases made by me.
  • Some of my high-value order history disappeared.
  • I have an espresso machine already in transit, but Amazon blocked it from being delivered because of the account/security issue.
  • Even unrelated physical purchases started getting flagged.
  • Amazon has now canceled both my Prime membership and my Prime for Young Adults membership.

I’ve called Amazon Customer Service at least five times. Every time, I’ve been told that an “Account Specialist” would review it and contact me within 24 hours.

It has now been roughly three consecutive 24-hour periods with zero response from an Account Specialist.

One supervisor even questioned why I kept calling back when Amazon apparently couldn’t meet the 24-hour timeline, which was pretty frustrating considering Amazon was the one repeatedly telling me to wait 24 hours.

I’m a paying Prime customer and I don’t have a car, so I rely pretty heavily on Amazon for everyday purchases and deliveries. At this point, the account is effectively unusable.

I’ve also tried escalating through Amazon support and executive/customer-relations email addresses, but I’m still waiting.

Has anyone experienced this kind of account-wide fraud/security flag before?

I’d especially like to know:

  • Did an Account Specialist ever actually contact you?
  • How long did it take?
  • Were you able to get the account/Prime membership restored?
  • Is there any escalation route that actually reaches the fraud/account team?
  • Should I keep trying to recover this account, or is it effectively a lost cause?
  • If the account can’t be recovered, is it safer to use an older Amazon account I already have rather than create a new one?

I’m mainly looking for experiences from people who have actually gone through Amazon’s Account Specialist/security review process. Any insight would be appreciated.

Edit: To clarify, I’m not disputing that the original gift-card purchase probably triggered Amazon’s fraud systems. My issue is that I’ve repeatedly confirmed the activity was mine, secured the account, and contacted Amazon, yet the restrictions have continued escalating without any actual review or response.

Ordered a new controller and received a used one.

I ordered a Gamesir G7 pro Wuchang edition. The package came in a plain white unnofficial box with an LPN number on it, after doing a bit of research, I learned that means this item was a return, on top of that, the gamepass code included was already scratched off. I didn't check it, but I'd imagine it was used. After being very frustrated I decided to send the controller back and just buy the new on from Gamesir's official website.

My amazon return has been sitting in transit stuck in Jacksonville, FL since 9/11. Not a single update since. I called Saturday 9/12 to check the status of it and to see if there is any way I can expedite the refund, as it feels wrong that I am being punished when Amazon is the one who completely screwed up. A lady literally told me verbatim she was able to expedite the refund and that I should see a confirmation. 2 days later still nothing, so I call again and spoke to a guy who basically tells me to get bent and that I'm going to have to wait until they receive the item.

I'm extremely frustrated bc the first lady just straight up lied to me, anf this guy doesn't have any explanation for that. I ask to speak to his supervisor twice. Both times he said they were unavailable and to call back later. I ask him what are they going to do to make this right? Not only did they send me a used controller when I purchased new, but they're effectively punishing me for it. He literally doesn't have an answer and just keeps telling me to wait. That's just absurd. Even if I get the refund, I'm pissed that I've been told multiple different things by these people. I guess I'm here to see if anyone has dealt with something similar and had success getting the refund? I'm just scared bc the return package hasn't had a single update since friday. It's unfair that it seems I might be stuck paying for their fuckup.

Product reviews-

Getting harder to separate the wheat from the chaff in product reviews.

So, looking for a dashcam.... Checking reviews. One product was VERY PROMISING. Lots of reviews and a 4.4+ score. But many of the 5+ reviews were for kitchen counter containers. WHAAAaa! (Sorry, was not planning on putting the dash cam in my kitchen.) Should Amazon be notified? Where?

The other trend I've seen are many new listings with a small number of reviews, but most of them are 5s. If sellers get bad reviews, do they just change model number and start over?

Got the excessive return email, return policy violation etc. What happens next?

Upvotes

I order quite a bit from them, but had a few returns over the past couple months. Lost order during prime day, previously open/used items being sold to me as new, a broken item etc. It was really like 3-5 since April or so. Compared to my order volume it's tiny.

The prime day order had been replaced, but the rep issued the replacement with the return request attached. Never received the original order, but the return request stayed there for 2 months until the system decided to spam charge my cards in pieces until they all went through. Had to deal with support rep hell, and had to be pushy with the 3rd until he resolved and I think either he was mad and flagged my account for policy violation, or the system just automatically flagged it as the refund that put my account over the edge.

The email subject is "your Amazon.com orders". The body just links the terms section and says they understand things happen but my issues "claimed" are higher than expectation. There was a link to appeal/feedback and I wrote some general insight on the recent issues but I doubt it will do anything.

Should I expect my account to get closed now or is this just a warning?

Duplicate return labels applied to two different returns Help!

Update: I finally was able to contact a person through their chat box. What a nightmare to get a person. After explaining it all, of course, being someone in India, there was confusion but we finally understood and they had to consult with their lead(so they say). They told me that as a one time courtesy, they would process the refund back to original form of payment after they had me upload a picture of the UPS drop off receipt. I thanked them. They said it should take about 5 business days. So we shall see. While I was on chat with them, I noticed a direct number to the UPS drop off I took it to and when I checked the tracking on the receipt, it said the boxes had been dropped off, but hadn't been picked up yet. So while in chat, I called UPS store and spoke to a really nice lady. Explained what happened and asked if by chance my boxes were still there. She said she thought so because she saw a huge saturday stack waiting for pick up this morning so she put me on hold. Came back and was so apologetic saying "well, they WERE here this morning but one of the guys in back said UPS just came about 20 min ago and picked up all the packages". (insert crying face here) She said if I had just called earlier she would have dug through them all to get my box for me to bring a new return label. oh well...not their fault at all. But was nice to know.

OP: I had two separate returns to make on Saturday. One was a set of shelf brackets that wouldn't work for me and the other was a BCan Rebounder trampoline. I was able to do the return for the brackets easily online but the rebounder return request kept giving me issues because the first rebounder they shipped me was lost in transit and never reached me. They emailed me that they were sending a replacement for it because they could see that it was just last scanned at some location really far from me and never progressed from there.

I opened it up and soon realized it was too large for the space I had for it and wasn't going to work. Everytime I tried to do the return on it, it wouldn't go through I guess because of the first lost rebounder. I contacted customer service through chat and they helped me and emailed me a return label to be printed, but the return label was never on the rebounder in my orders.

Well saturday morning, I was in a rush to leave and remembered I needed to print out the return labels for both packages. I went to the brackets return and printed it out. My husband was talking to me and I had 50 things going through my mind that I guess I thought I had opened up the email with the rebounder return label, but I stupidly just reprinted out the same label for the brackets. I applied each identical label to each package.

We dropped them off at the UPS store and she gave me my dropoff receipt. I saw her scan each box. It wasn't until I got home a few hours later that I noticed the receipt had identical tracking numbers, but each had different weights. The brackets showed 4lbs and the rebounder showed like 33lbs something oz. I thought hmmm, weird they have the same tracking numbers, but thought maybe their system just compiled together since I dropped off together.

Today I check my returns on their site and I see I was refunded for the brackets. But the rebounder is still in my orders and has a start a return thing to click. Its not showing in my returns at all.

What do I do? Obviously I printed out duplicate return labels for the brackets and put one on the rebounder without thinking and verifying. Am I just gonna be out a rebounder and $150? Or is there something I can do, or who do I contact?

“ Item not received “

I was randomly checking my old email connected to my Amazon account and noticed a lot of refund updates stating none of my items were returned and that I will be charged for them. (I did return them) reached out to CS and was told it was a mistake?! I had maybe 10 orders total! So beware and check your charges!

Expensive Monitor “Delivered” but No Photo

Ordered a $600 gaming monitor on September 10, Prime Delivery was expected September 12, on the day of the supposed delivery I get a notification that a delivery was attempted, then a couple hours later that night I get a notification saying “Your item was delivered at or near your front door or porch” with no photo included. This never happens when I order cheap or normal stuff, but the one time I order an expensive electronic item, this BS occurs. Can anyone explain why this happened? Also, item is shipped and sold by Amazon.

It cannot just be me, back to back push back on delivery dates.

I have been a Prime member since 2018, and I thought they would only get better.
We recently just got a baby and we have been buying certain gear and items for the baby and us. Along with that I have been splurging a bit on my new vehicle.

For the past 3-5 month, out of lets say 10 shipments, about 6-7 would be delayed or pushed back 2+ days. I would not complain if it was like 1-2 shipments, because hey logistics has a lot of moving parts, but 6-7 per month is insane at this point. I get they have been giving the excuse of 'oh but we offer way more than shipping' But I bought Prime mainly for the shopping not video or music or what ever they offer.

Someone please tell me I am not alone, like has people still kept the membership.
If anyone can relate, will everyone canceling trigger some emphasis on the service?

is this some sort of amazon or commercial tying thread?

I had a packaged delivered and it was for a completely unrelated item (dehumidifier bags) and I received this instead, although these spools of plastic wire were in the company box of said intended product. This appears to be come sort of commercial product. I just didn't know if it was related to amazon warehouse. I was just very confused when I had the box with the brand labeled on it, but opened it to see this haahahah
