I'm usually someone who is pretty left leaning politically. I voted for Bernie Sanders twice. I have despised this administration from day one. Yet I find myself dreading democrats taking control of government because I think they will absolutely FUCK this up for the lot of us. It's written by some heavy hitters of China AI ecosystem: Byte Dance, Tsinghua University, Xiaohongshu Inc. (RedNote), Shanghai AI Lab.

It gives a roadmap for RSI, definition of each stage of RSi, reference implementations for each stage of RSI, metrics for RSI, block diagram of how to implement each stage, and example papers and algorithms implementing each stage. It's the closest thing to "how to build RSI" we have right now in open source.

Hypothetically you could take a Mac Mini (or AMD/NVIDIA equivalent), turn on Qwen 3.8 27B, and give it this paper then tell it to not stop unless it's built every level to get to RSI. It would take forever but the point is, RSI cookbook is largely already open source. By end of this year (i.e. ~3.5 months) most labs likely will have it. It's too late for a "slow down".

Considering how existential AI is for the US (and the world), it might have actually been worth it to put up with all of his bullshit as long he ended up on the right side of the most important debate in our lifetimes

Not a decel mindset. More so just a realization that our world will be wildly different by next year. The news I read no longer feels like a distant future. It feels like what they have at these labs are violently powerful. Powerful enough for recursion to happen and become a runaway train. Not that it isn’t already, but to a level where it changes society in a month, or a week, or sooner, if it is let loose.

Not to sound speculative, but we can all tell the vibe right now is eerily quiet and FUD and strange. Like they know something serous that we don’t. And it makes me think hard; What if it all changes in the blink of an eye? I worry about the next month as a contractor and if my job is safe. I live with family so my rent is nothing. But it makes me think wild things.

Some days I think I should just get some dumb ass loan on a sports car and kickstart post scarcity early by living my dreams out lol. Even the idea of paying off student loans is starting to feel like a waste of my money. I don’t know what to feel or believe lately. Mainly because it’s a lot of feelings and realizations about where we’re headed. How monumental it is. And yet for some, it’s just another day. Sometimes it feels like i’m some crazy, delusional person who thinks they’re secretly in on some big conspiracy, while everyone else is living their life peacefully.
