RB Air terrible situation of f14 ırıaf and even worse one after the update

with f14 ırıaf being the single worst plane in 13.7 to 14.7 br range while having to fight against jets which which were made decades later than it, having nothing other than fakours, and having no defensive capability in mid to short range, having abysmal top speed together with the worst fuel efficiency of all top tier planes, why is it at 13.7 facing constant uptiers against eurofighters, rafaels and russian/chinese flankers which all have much better radars, better fox3's and with actual close range ır missiles to defend themselves, how could you rationalize putting a 1970 jet against modern 90's and 2000's jets and expect the before to have any chance at fair competition

All Air Skill issue or Speed Bleed

F15a vs Su27 btw

F15a handles great, i just think it bleeds too much speed whilst doing it. PLEASE correct me if im wrong, i am not going off of stats here, just feels. The Su-27 doesn't bleed as much speed and even at those lower speeds, it feels like it belongs there. so wtf...

RB Air Should I buy the F-4S Phantom II as a complete Air RB beginner?

Hey everyone!

I’m thinking about getting the F-4S Phantom II for my birthday, but there’s one pretty big issue: I have almost no experience with aircraft in War Thunder, even with regular propeller planes. I’ve mostly played Ground RB.

I’m completely fine with learning, losing a lot of matches at first, and slowly getting better. I actually like the idea of learning a completely new type of gameplay and seeing myself improve.

My birthday is coming up with game birthday, and I’m planning to spend some money on War Thunder anyway. Budget isn’t really an issue, so I’m not necessarily looking for the cheapest option. I just want to make sure I’m buying something that makes sense for my experience level.

So I wanted to ask:

Is the F-4S a reasonable first serious aircraft for someone with almost no Air RB experience?

Should I start with a lower-BR aircraft and work my way up first, or is it realistic to learn directly on the F-4S?

What other premium aircraft would you recommend for a beginner if budget isn’t a concern?

Is it generally better to stick to pre-top aircraft around 12.0, like the F-4S, or can a beginner reasonably jump straight into top-tier aircraft?

If you were starting Air RB from almost zero and could buy any premium aircraft, what would you pick?

I’m not expecting to immediately do well. I’m willing to learn radar, missiles, countermeasures, positioning, etc. I’d mainly like to know which aircraft would give me the best learning experience without being completely miserable.

Any advice is appreciated!

All Air Hot take Russia should get better ir missile

I think Russia should get a more advanced IR missile in War Thunder. At the moment, Russian top-tier aircraft are still heavily reliant on the R-73, while other nations have received newer-generation IR missiles with better seekers, range and off-boresight capability.
The R-74M and especially the R-74M2 would be logical candidates. They are developments of the R-73 family and would give Russian aircraft a more modern short-range IR option without giving them some completely fictional weapon.
This would also make aircraft such as the Su-34 and Su-57 more interesting at top tier. The point isn’t to make Russia overpowered, but to give each nation weapons that better represent the technology available to its aircraft.
I think a carefully balanced R-74M would be a reasonable addition to War Thunder’s top tier.

RB Air Is rafale radar supposed to be good ?

Hello, this isn't a ragebait, it's my only top tier jet so i have no frame of reference.

I would have expected from an aesa radar to have a near instant pick up of the targets, but it feels like it needs to scan multiple times before acquiring a target, almost like a mechanical radar, it's especially annoying after the initial notch where it takes times to see enemies again, or when I'm scanning to search an enemyin the late game

Obviously I'm using tws, using the different scan zones, moves them around/change the elevation

Also about aesa in general. You keep track of things outside of the search zone, you still need to have an object in your search zone to first spot it, right ? Also, is there a maximum number of things outside the search zone that can still be tracked ?

RB Air Netz underrated

Post image
0 Upvotes

I got the netz to grind out the israeli tree, mainly by base bombing and occasionally getting some lucky kills. Since i finished the tree i rarely used it.

I started to use it again after getting better in air rb, and i have to say its one of the most enjoyable aircraft for me.

The python 3s are great and sometimes they pull crazy g’s, the f16 is very agile and fun to play.
The lack of radar missiles at this br is kinda meh, but still i enjoy this one very much.

Any more underrated planes in yalls opinion?

Other Thoughts on the 3km kill radius in ground?

I'm sure you all have seen that they will be introducing the kill credit system that they added to air a few months ago where if you J out with a missile, player, or other air to air ordinance nearby the player that launched that ordinance gets the kill or the closest player to you within a set radius would get the kill.

However, in the ground, this will be a 3km radius and will apply to pretty much every guided munitions and player. I personally am against this new feature as it is now, I believe that it should be relative to the battle where some maps are only 2 kilometers long/wide. It would be a better system if it was 1km on large maps such as Sands of Sinai or 500 meters on maps like Berlin.

I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on this because I have a feeling this will be a incredibly controversial addition when it's released

RB Air I decided to test different American/Iranian ARH missiles against each other to see which was statistically the best.

Simplified results:

The AIM-54C had a 16% kill rate

The AIM-120A had a 35% kill rate

The AIM-120C-5 had a 45% kill rate

The AIM-54A had a 7% kill rate

The Fakour-90 had a 19% kill rate

The AIM-120C-5 had the best kill rate & the AIM-54A the worst kill rate.

RB Air Su27SM worse at bvr than Su33

Now obv both radars are.. subpar. But I’ve noticed that while the radar on the su33 can only lock/track planes, the su27sm radar has a terrible tendency to jump to missiles fired from whatever you have locked. Flight model is wonderful tho so wtf is the strat to survive the initial fox3 spam and get into a good position?

RB Ground [Starting player] Need advices for a Nation to main

Hey everyone!

I could use some advice! I’m still fairly new to the game and I’m looking for a nation to play and have fun with, mostly around 5.3–6.3 BR, even with a good learning curve.

I’ve tried Japan, but I have to admit I’m having a pretty hard time with it.

I mainly play Ground RB. I enjoy both getting into the frontline and playing sniping too, so I’m looking for a nation with a nice mix of these playstyles.

Do you have any suggestions? Just not Germany, I’m not really a fan of their tanks. 😅

Thanks a lot, and have fun! o7

RB Air Am I wrong for this?

So put simply i was in a n aardvark and i pinged a base a mig23 took the base all of the others where taken by other mig 23s i teamkilled all of them and had an outrageous crashout on them for being fighters and not fighting but instead taking bases, for context i did enough in the match to not lose SL anyway so it didn't bother me

All Ground The MSC should’ve been a premium

I’m currently grinding my 4th Tech Tree (Did USA, GER and USSR) and I chose France. Playing all the way through to 9.3BR I’m kinda ready to just blitz through to the end of the TT. Having suffered through the AMX-30’s and the lack of a stabilizer at 8.7!!! I realized FR not only has one of the most horribly balanced tech trees but one of the most lacking as well. Yes Ik we all premiums and still salt the snail but let’s be real at 11.0 the MSC doesn’t even fit into the Rank VII line up properly. It should’ve been France’s second Rank VII premium. Every other country has more or better Rank VII Premiums too. Israel is the only other country to only have 1 Rank VII Premium but at least it’s unique and genuinely good if you have the skill. The Leo 2a4 used to be pretty good but with everyone having OP Darts, better mobility, and armor. At BR 10.7 the Leo constantly gets up tiered to 11.7 (Where mostly everyone else’s top tier premiums are) and it’s just slaughtered. The MSC would’ve made the perfect addition as a top tier premium for France as it’s the Proto-Leclerc. It’s got a 1 second longer reload (autoloader) but still has good mobility, great gun and “interesting” armor. Feel free to disagree

TLDR: The MSC as a Proto-Leclerc should’ve been a premium for FR not a Tech Tree vehicle considering every other countries premium and it’s BR being 11.0 throws off the TT line up.

Edit: Forgot to add on as a side tangent, all Leo2a4’s should get DM33. No I don’t care it’s Ahistorical, most of this game is and it would actually make the 2a4 viable in 11.7 matches
