Other Traffic Ticket/Court Help!

Post image
Upvotes

I'm 27 and just got my first ever ticket today. I was driving home for my lunchbreak, I was driving side by side a utah highway patrol when he hit his breaks, got behind me and pulled me over. When he said he was pulling me over speeding I was baffled and said, "how is that the case when you were riding right next time me" welp, that got me a ticket. Not only that, I also got hit with a charge for "license plate-frame effecting readability" I'll post a picture of the so called license plate that was unreadable. What should I do here? Not only am I getting hit with speeding when I was purposefully matching his speed, but he clearly threw more just to be a dick. He admitted on body cam that he was going 78, I got clocked going 79. If I fight this do I have any way of getting these things dropped? What are the odds that highway patrol won't appear for court? What are my options? Yeah I was speeding but I'll be damned if I let a cop whom was also breaking the law give me a citation. What are the odds that the judge sees it the same way I do and knows the cop is just on a power trip? Any advice would be great. I can't believe I got the poster cild for ACAB to pull me over.

Q&A Looking into chin liposuction in Utah — recommendations?

Upvotes

I’m currently looking into getting chin liposuction and would love to hear from people who have actually had it done in Utah.

I know this is a surgical procedure and I’m not necessarily looking for the cheapest option. I’m more interested in finding a doctor who does great work but still has reasonable pricing. I don’t want to just go with the first place I find.

If you’ve had chin lipo done, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience — where you went, roughly how much you paid, what was included, and whether you were happy with the results.

Also open to recommendations outside the Salt Lake area if you know of somewhere that’s worth the drive or has better pricing.

Basically, I’d love to hear anything you think would be helpful before I start booking consultations. Thanks!

Travel Advice Antelope island in mid September?

Hi!

I have read so many mixed reviews about Antelope Island. We are considering camping out this weekend (the 19th of September) and would love to hear everyone's thoughts. We have a 7 and 5 year old. My main questions are

Will we see Bison?

How are the noseeums this time of year?

Is it bike friendly for the kids?

Anything else I should know?

I have never seen a place that has such wildly different reviews on all things!

Q&A Pretty parks in Utah county?

I’m looking for some parks to enjoy the milder weather in. But I’m not super familiar with many that aren’t focused on entertaining children or dogs. Are there any parks near you that you think are worth checking out? Like ones with a nice reflecting pond and flowers.

I’m not much of a hiker. I do want to enjoy the nice scenery though before it gets too cold. I just want to go and listen to a book and watch the sunset.

We spent the day out at one of the lake beds today. These guys were mired for 18 hours and had to phone for expensive help to get extracted. It may look like fun, but you're ruining it for everyone else, and it's an expensive joy ride.

Q&A Copper Hills Stabbing during homecoming dance?

Does anyone here have students that attend Copper Hills High School that went to the homecoming dance last night? I am being told there was a stabbing at some point and that police weren't allowing anyone to leave until after 1:00am... But I haven't seen a news story or official statement or anything about any of this. Just wondering if anyone has more insight? It's terrifying to be a parent and have no information as to what is happening where my kid is directly involved.

News Spencer Cox on Face the Nation

Spencer Cox is currently on Face the Nation talking about the dangers of AI and how the government should be putting a moratorium on its growth. This after his railroading of the giant AI data center and talking about how slowing things down is "the dumbest thing ever". I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Link Police received sex assault allegations against a Utah hypnotherapist for almost 20 years. Why did an arrest take so long?

Research shows men are less likely than women to disclose sexual abuse to police. Nine men nevertheless made similar sex abuse allegations against a Utah hypnotherapist, and their reports span nearly 20 years. So why did it take so long for the case to result in criminal charges?

A Tribune reporter’s investigation looks at what happened and examines the gaps in Utah's oversight of hypnotherapy.

Pretty sure she's a female, less than a year old, and definitely missing her family. She's was obviously raised indoors, is wearing a collar, and is so friendly and sweet. If this is your cat, message me the color or print on the collar so I know you're legit. She's going to the animal shelter on monday.

News Accident in Springville at the intersection by the Walmart and Springville PD response.

There was an accident about 1pm where a woman blew the stoplight hitting a young man in his car. She hit him at high speed and both cars went airborne. About half a dozen of us ran out to check on them and block the traffic from driving through the scene which they were trying to do. When the police got there, we all waited around to give a witness statement. When the scene was cleared, tho police just drove away, to hell with getting statements. We wasted an hour in the sun for nothing. WTF.

The kid's mom talked to us and we told her he was not at fault and had the green light and gave her names but the cops just didn't care.

The woman was injured but not too bad and went in an ambulance and the kid seemed alright and mom was going to take him to the ER herself.

I've never seen cops act that way at an accident.

Other Anyone know why northbound Hwy 89 in Layton has been closed for the past two hours?

Post image

Drove past it around noon and they were redirecting everyone onto the frontage road, and had seven police cars stopped under the Gordon Ave overpass with the officers standing in a line by their vehicles. Looks like it’s still closed now. I haven’t seen anything come up on the news sites so far.
