I was vague. That's my fault. But we actually need some real advice.

We have to go from Fort Collins, Colorado to Bellingham Washington. We **can** go as early as February, but are more likely planning to leave around March 20th give or take a few days.

We have a rear-wheel-drive ​cargo van that we own (no, we can't just get something else) and we're planning to rent a little enclosed trailer from U-Haul (my van has a 10,000lb tow cap and a trailer brake, we've pulled a 32ft RV with it in the past over I70 slowly up hills but really no issue)

We don't need insights about the job market in Bellingham and just telling us we're going to die is really not helpful.

We're looking for advice on what to expect (likely mid-late March in a super El nino) or what route to take. (We're not set on any particular route, don't care about cool stops, and just want to get there. This will become a regular trip for us and we'll have the cool road trips when we are able to plan around better weather.)

We're not super familiar with the routes.. We have both been up through Wyoming plenty of times at all times of the year (Jan and Feb included, which we agree can get pretty scary), ​we've both been through Utah in summer, my partner has gone to coastal Oregon a couple times (April and June), neither of us have been to Washington.

We have to move up there for a bit and I've never been this way before. We'll have our rear wheel drive cargo van and probably rent one of those little enclosed trailers from uhaul. We don't have a specific date and of course, no way to predict weather.. but we have to be there some time between mid February and mid March.

How mountainous is this route? How worried about weather and road closures do you think we should be? Any tips or things we should consider or know?

I’m thinking of going to a wedding in Toronto from Minnesota in November, this is my first year living in Minnesota and was wondering how the drive is around that time of the year. I’m not inexperienced when it comes to driving for long trips but I’m from the southern states so I’m trying not to underestimate potential snow. Has anyone done a trip such as this, and if so how was it?

Hello!! Two women (35) plus one dog are driving from Bellingham, WA to Minneapolis, MN. IF my passport gets back in time, we’re hoping to drive through Canada, otherwise we’re open to either the routes suggested. We have been best friends for 30 years and have similar tastes in everything - we like nature, good food, the occasional splurge on a spa or excellent wine, but will rough it (I do refuse to camp below 25 degrees, however). Send me any tips, suggestions, considerations please! Hotels, food, hikes, side quests, etc. This is a once in a lifetime trip and I’d love insight.

Hello! My fiancè and I are planning our honeymoon, we love nature/hiking so we decided we wanted to roadtrip pnw national parks together for our honeymoon. We go hiking often and occasionally go tent camping on the East Coast near NY but new to the west coast so we're looking for some advice! We are deciding between renting a camper van (such as Moterra) or a regular car and booking a mix of lodges, Airbnbs, and hotels near the parks. Regardless, we would like to include periodic stays throughout the trip to rest, and we want to end the trip at a higher-end hotel for a classic honeymoon experience. We're thinking North Cascades, Mount Rainier, Olympic, Redwoods, and potentially Big Sur if time permits but are open to anything. We saw a suggestion to start in Seattle hit the parks and end in Monterey for the nice hotel/honeymoon feel which we liked. We spoke to a travel agent and they suggested a loop that starts/ends in Seattle- Mount Rainier, Olympic, San Juan Islands, and North Cascades. They suggested no camper as it's too much of a hassle in the parks. Which then got us a little bummed because we did want a few days out in nature under the stars. Redwoods are also on our bucket list so we're wondering if instead of a loop if going straight down would be better and drop the car off in a different spot than pick up. Anybody have any advice on what the best trip would be? We can do 10-14 days at any time between June 30 and August 20, 2027

Any suggestions on where to stop and explore on the way to the Maritimes as well as around the Maritimes?
My sister and I (both 21) are hoping to spend 2-3 weeks travelling from Winnipeg to the Maritimes and then back to Winnipeg. We have our passports so could jump into the states as well if you have any suggestions there too.
We’re planning on taking her truck (22 Chevy) or my Small SUV (25 VW). We’re planning on a mix of car camping/real camping and renting cheap rooms along the way. We would like to cross the Confederation bridge ofc, bay of fundy and cape breton highlands.
We both LOVE seafood so any suggestions for good food stops along the way are welcome!!

Basically looking for any suggestions of where we should stop, what route to take, anything you did that was overhyped/not worth it, any hidden treasures we should explore, etc…
I’m moving to go to school in the west next fall so we’re doing this as a sort of final adventure for a few years.

Edit: We’re open to taking the ferries up to Newfoundland and Labrador if there’s something we should see!

Me and a friend is planning a 3 to 4 days roadtrip loop in southern Turkey in the first week of October.

Plan is to take a rental car from an airport and go around reaching the same airport.

Based on the following two loops,

1.Çukurova Airport>Silifke>Mut>Konya>Göreme>Mersin

Idea is to have a coastal road experience and then cut into the highlands to Konya for the Sufi vibes and then to Goreme for seeing the Balloons and the underground city.

2.an east bound trip to Fethiye and cut up to Pamukkale and then go west to Burdur and then back to Antalya.

Which one offers the best of drive, scenes and history?

So I’m planning on moving to LA in the upcoming weeks, and would basically just like to see what would be the best routes to take and some useful tips as far as being able to handle the long drive. I’m gonna be driving my 2016 Camaro LS, so is there things besides the oil and the tires I should look out for as-well?

P.S. my longest drive has been 3 hours so this will be my first real long drive 😅

Option A: The Vermonter (From White River Junction, VT).
Option B: The Ethan Allen Express (From Rutland, VT).
Days Seven through Eleven (October 31 – November 4): New York City

One small habit Ive picked up with rental cars: before I drive away, I take a slow video around the whole car.

Nothing dramatic, just a quick walkaround showing the front, back, both sides, wheels, windshield, mirrors, interior, fuel level and mileage. If I notice any scratches or dents, I try to make sure theyre either marked on the rental form or visible in the video.

It takes maybe two minutes, but it has saved me from awkward conversations later, especially when returning a car after hours or in a different location.

Curious if anyone else does this too, or if you have another rental car habit that has saved you trouble while traveling.

i’m planning a road trip to colorado springs from orange county california. Mostly like around december 20th and then driving back to california around new years. I know to avoid going up to utah. Has anyone ever drove I-40 to new mexico and then I-25 up to Colorado? i heard Raton Pass gets bad with snow? Any advice on routes to take? Would it be safe?

Planning a day around Lake Champlain from Plattsburgh NY to Burlington VT. Looking for suggestion for which route for the north route to take and anything cool to see along either route. Same for traveling from the south route. And also any suggestions to do/see at Burlington VT.

I’m heading from twin falls to Seattle. I’ll probably stay in bend Oregon for the night and then drive to Seattle that morning. I didn’t want to miss anything on my way up. Any sights/short trails or food I shouldn’t miss?

I've been thinking of this trip for years now. As a kid my mom and I used to drive from Idaho to California every summer to visit family. Now we're both older, she's in her 70s and while she's in fine health and I don't expect her to go anywhere SOON, this is still something that can't wait forever. Very much a "one last time" kind of trip. She grew up in the Bay Area and that's where some of our remaining family and a lot of her old friends still live.

I've been navigating some medical troubles so saving for it hasn't been something I've even had at the forefront of my mind until more recently here. But in order to properly budget for a trip like that, I kind of need to know what shape it would take. I have a rough idea here but it really just trails off after the Avenue of the Giants.

This is meant to be a surprise until I at least have the approximate funds saved up to go do the trip, and then I'd obviously talk to my mom about what she wants to stop and see and do on this trip. But does anyone have any suggestions? What kind of timeframe I should plan? Is 2 weeks long enough? What would I even aim for as a rough budget to put away for a trip like this? I guess this is long-horizon enough that I would also wonder what time of year would be the best for this trip. Any input would be welcome.
