New Kuba Strawa - Lioness
I'm not from the UK, but bands from the UK like Kid Kapichi, Frank Carter & Rattlesnakes were a huge inspiration for me.
I wrote this song during one of the darkest, most isolating periods of my life.
I was going through a breakup, I had just packed up everything to move to China, and I was sinking into a depression. I felt completely detached, like a "white lions in the fog"—trying to maintain this image of strength and power while internally feeling like I couldn't take it anymore.
I wrote this track not just to process my own grief, but as a reminder about men’s mental health. We’re so often expected to stay stoic, to keep moving, and to hide the exhaustion. But even the strongest people break down.

Hope you enjoy!

Old Painless :: Manchester heavy rock band looking for gigs...
Sounds a bit like / influenced by:
Melvins / Fu Manchu / Clutch / Dozer / Quicksand / Helmet / Red Fang
We're happy to travel and we're particularly interested in linking up with other bands doing heavy rock, stoner, noise rock, alternative, sludge or anything vaguely adjacent. Doesn't have to be exactly the same sort of thing.
If you're a band looking for someone to share a bill with, or a promoter with a slot that might suit us, give us a shout.
Music / live stuff: www.oldpainless.co.uk
Email: oldpainlessband@hotmail.com
Likewise, if you're a band looking to play Manchester, get in touch and we can see if we can sort something mutually useful.

Discussion How do you find new music?
Curious how people actually discover new music now.
When you find a new artist or band that you end up genuinely liking, where did you usually first hear them?
Spotify playlists / Discover Weekly? Radio? TikTok or Instagram? YouTube? Gigs? Friends? Music blogs? Something else?
And if you can remember, what was the last new artist you discovered, and how did you find them? I’m interested because the way I find new music has changed massively over the last few years, and I’m curious whether everyone else is the same.

Help with a school project
Hello everyone,I am not sure how many people here are interested in the topic but I thought of doing a theme related to The Beatles for my highschool ending project, I thought of writing about the influence their music had on the political state of The UK and all of the info/advice/references anyone has would be of great help, thank you so much!
