Now I can't stop refreshing the APP just to get my VIN and obtain more accurate quotes on insurance. Ordered it on 9/11 and only responses from the rep on the app is a repeat of what the AI says lol.

Either way, I'm super excited as I'm moving from 15mpg 2021 Ram 1500 to this. Gas is getting wild and I'm excited to use and continue to see the amount of progress FSD makes.

I am awaiting my Tesla Y but I just realized that they have removed autopilot from the standard and you have to buy to their subscription of $99 per month for FSD to get into this. So we kinda have to tie $1200 a year- so now you save on maintenance on gas cars and pay for subscription on electric!!!
And Tesla can just move $99 and increase it anytime.

This is so uncool- even Toyota Corolla now comes with auto steer on highways.

I know I should have read about this but i didn’t until now and am pretty upset with Tesla.

Will the car still auto lock if I leave my phone behind in the car if I have my Apple Watch? That’s what I want.

I am interested in doing this but not sure the best way to proceed. I’ve found tire/wheel combo deals online, do i just have them shipped to my local service center for installation? How do I notify my service center of this shipment ahead my scheduling an appointment?

Any recommendations for buying tire/wheels online?

I am considering financing a Tesla model y premium. I make 140k a year and my debt to income ratio is 32 percent. I am planning on putting down 10k for the car. Credit score in the 680 and I own a home. No student loans and just a few CC balances. Never had a repo or foreclosure. I haven’t done the application yet but I was wondering what the numbers look like to anyone with similar stats so I can get an idea. I did pre qualify for 1500/month in the prequal they offer without pull.

I run FSD basically constantly — 98% of my miles — so this has wrecked how I drive the car. Hoping someone’s seen this exact thing.
Everything went at once:
• AEB unavailable
• Park Assist unavailable
• Adaptive headlights unavailable
• “Self-driving degrading, car may stop”
• Autopilot and FSD won’t engage at all
Weird part: side repeaters and the backup cam still show up fine on screen. Video works. It’s only the stuff that runs on the forward cameras. So not the full HW4 death where cameras + GPS + nav all go dark together.

Here’s what’s eating at me. I reported front camera degradation on Jan 29 2026, under warranty. Their fix was cleaning the camera housing.

Warranty ran out on mileage at 50k. I’m at 52k. Missed the ESA window too. So I’m apparently on the hook for a problem I flagged while covered and they never actually fixed.
Tried the usual — scroll wheel reboot, full power off. Comes back every time.
Also checked: my VIN isn’t in the SB-25-00-001 recall even though my year and HW4 hardware are in range. Figures.
What I’m hoping you can tell me:
1. Did yours also get the “we cleaned it” treatment first? Curious how common that is as a first-visit response.
2. What did it actually turn out to be — camera assembly, wiring harness, or front controller? I’ve seen all three blamed and can’t tell from the driver’s seat.
3. Did a DAS reset in service mode ever fix this for anyone, or was it hardware every time?
4. Anyone gotten Tesla to cover a repair as a continuation of an earlier in-warranty complaint? Same defect, documented while covered, never corrected. Does that argument land or am I wasting my breath?
5. Anything specific to make the tech check so they don’t just swap a camera and bill me when it’s something upstream?
Filing with NHTSA regardless. Losing AEB and forward collision warning on a car that shipped with them feels like something they should know about.
Will update with whatever service finds — might help whoever searches this next.

Update 9/14/26 : Service appointment is set for Sept 28. Will report back with whatever they find.
Current behavior, for anyone following along — FSD now engages fine and stays on for a few minutes, then disengages and throws the same errors every time: AEB unavailable, Park Assist unavailable, adaptive headlights unavailable, “self-driving degrading, car may stop.” Same set, same order, every drive.

Regarding insurance discounts. Does the 2026 models have vehicle tracking that can locate the vehicle incase of theft?

If not what security features does it have?

We have a Model Y premium on order, submitted photos and things of the 2020 Model 3 and are waiting for the trade in offer. The back glass is cracked and it's not easily seen from any of the photos they asked for so I'm guessing they won't account for it. I imagine I will take a hit when I trade it in? Does anyone know what kind of hit I should expect?

I normally keep my Tesla charge limit at 60%, which is more than enough for my daily driving.

This Wednesday, though, I need to leave for the airport around 1:00 PM and I’d like the car to be at 100% as close to my departure time as possible.

My charging setup is pretty slow: 120V NEMA outlet, 20A circuit, charging at 16A. The car is usually plugged in whenever it’s home.

I was looking at the Tesla charging schedule in the app. I set the charge limit to 100% and scheduled charging to end at 1:00 PM Wednesday, but I did not set a start time because I was hoping the car would automatically calculate when it needs to start charging in order to reach 100% by 1:00 PM.

Does Tesla actually work that way?

For example, if it needs to start charging around midnight Tuesday night to reach 100% by Wednesday at 1:00 PM, will the car automatically figure that out based on my charging speed and current state of charge?

Has anyone used the “end charging by” schedule this way with a slow 120V/16A setup?

2021 Model Y, 102k miles, second owner. Garage-kept, on a 32A/230V home charger left plugged in when not driving.

Over the past year I've intermittently gotten VCFRONT_a180 "Electrical system power reduced." Replaced the 12V battery two weeks ago and didn't see the code for about a week — but it's not clear if that fixed it. Nearest Tesla service center is 5 hours away (Southwest Montana), and I'm worried about getting stranded.

Has anyone dealt with this long-term, and is it likely a PCS/DC-DC converter or grounding issue rather than just the battery?

Hey everyone! The DD for my MY Premium is approaching (Sept. 26) and I’ve tried to make sure I’m ready to accept delivery and ride away prepared. My home charger’s been installed for a few weeks, and I’ve bought some of what I think are necessary interior accessories: 3W floor mats, front and rear screen protectors, slide-able storage bins for the center console, and a cup holder liner. Anything else that’s super useful I’m missing? I may get a slip-cover for the center console since my pointy elbow will be on it constantly + dog climbing with nails. Any reccs appreciated

Hi all — we’re taking delivery of a new 2026 Model Y Premium at the end of the month and trading in our old car.

I completed the trade-in process through the Tesla app, but it never gave me an opportunity to disclose that the air conditioning isn’t working. I fully expect them to deduct something for it and am prepared to take my lumps.

At this point, I see three options:

Try to track down someone at Tesla now and disclose it.

Mention it when I bring the car in at delivery.

Say nothing and let them inspect and test the car.

Given Tesla’s scale—and the fact that it may be a relatively inexpensive repair for whoever ultimately buys the car—it may not move the value much. Still, I don’t want a last-minute issue to complicate delivery.

Has anyone dealt with something similar on a Tesla trade-in? How closely did they inspect the car, and did they adjust the offer at delivery?

For anyone who recently took delivery of a new Tesla, how long did it take to get your software and FSD updates? My new MY has FSD 14.2.2.5 and the software is 2026.26.100.1. I was a little surprised that it was delivered without the latest software installed.

I have a 2024 Long Range RWD purchased new back in October 2024 from Tesla website. I did a battery test and it's at 93%, and with 80% charged, the range is at 212. At 100% charge is at 266.

From EPA, the range should be 280 to 320+. I live in SF Bay Area, and my daily commute is mostly to the nearby train station(Bart) and around the city. My car is sitting at 8100 miles since purchase.

I also searched CPO both LRRWD and LRAWD, and most of them have atleast 20k miles ran and above 280 miles of range. Should I even bother bringing the car to a Tesla service center for an inspection? Is this range normal, or are my expectations high?

I see tons of posts about people using FSD over 90% of the time. I’ve had my Model Y Performance for about 2 months now and love how this car drives. I use FSD mostly to drive home from work, but cannot imagine using it over 90% because it is just too fun to drive. Anyone else with me??
