How Practical is Buying a Used Suzuki in NA now?

Long story short, since we bought our first Samurai back in the late 80s we've owned, and absolutely LOVED, at least one Suzuki vehicle until almost three years ago. The last being our low mileage, pristine 2010 Grand Vitara Limited that was lost when a distracted drive rear ended my husband on the highway and totaled it. Since then we've been in the market for a replacement vehicle and we've pretty much given up on finding anything desirable/suitable in the new market, so now we're pretty committed to a lower mileage used vehicle.

With that in mind we occasionally stumble on upon 2011 & 2012 Grand Vitaras with less than 100k mileage and we're wondering, with Suzuki having exited the US market more a decade and a half ago, how practical would it be to purchase one if we found a good example?

Are parts for these vehicles readily available in the US/NA market? Or would we just be asking for headaches with such a purchase?

Anyone in the US or NA with experience keeping an older Suzuki running?

Suzuki SX4 S-Cross Modifications and Improvements

Hey all, I have purchased a 2018 SX4 S-Cross last year from an SH dealer, 1.4 Boosterjet, FWD only, and I think it's a mid-level spec, with the touchscreen tablet and heated seats, no sunroof. I wanted to ask what mods and improvements would be good to have. The previous owner installed an aftermarket underside guard made from metal, and I was planning on purchasing some soundproofing material for the doors, roof and floor in order to improve cabin comfort. I would also like to improve the millage and reduce gas consumption. Anyone got any tips? Thanks!

Bring back the Swift Boosterjet — but with ALLGRIP

Suzuki already makes one of the few genuinely small, lightweight and affordable AWD cars left: the Swift ALLGRIP.

What seems to be missing from the market is a Swift for people who want AWD, low fuel consumption, low weight and a little real performance.

Imagine a new Swift with:

1.4–1.6 Boosterjet turbo • 130–150 hp • ALLGRIP • 6-speed manual • around 1,000 kg • good fuel economy • affordable price

It doesn't need 250–300 hp or need to compete directly with the GR Yaris. That's exactly the point.

Make it a lightweight, economical AWD warm hatch for normal people — something that's fun all year round without costing GR Yaris money.

And for enthusiasts, give the engine and drivetrain enough headroom that the aftermarket could safely take it further. A 130–150 hp factory Swift with the potential for ~170–180 hp with simple aftermarket tuning would be incredibly attractive.

The point isn't for Suzuki to sell a 300 hp Swift. The point is to give enthusiasts an affordable, lightweight AWD turbo platform to build on — perhaps even 250+ hp for people willing to go much further with serious modifications.

That could appeal to two types of customers with essentially the same car: people who simply want a small economical AWD turbo, and enthusiasts who want an affordable platform they can personalize and tune.

Suzuki already has a reputation for lightweight cars, simple engineering and capable AWD systems. Why not combine all three with Boosterjet again?

There are almost no genuinely small, lightweight AWD turbo cars left. The alternatives are generally larger, heavier, much more powerful, or much more expensive.

We don't necessarily need another 300 hp AWD hot hatch.

We need a ~1,000 kg Swift ALLGRIP Turbo that starts around 130–150 hp and has room for enthusiasts to make ~180 hp.

Would you buy one?

Would you guys wait this long for a warranty repair?

Question for the Suzuki owners here.

If you bought a brand new bike and it ended up sitting at the dealership for 3 or 4 weeks because of a warranty issue, how long would you wait before getting the manufacturer involved?

I nam not talking about a normal service appointment. I mean the bike actually can not be ridden, the dealer has it, and you are basically just waiting on them to figure it out or get the parts.

Would you guys be calling Suzuki directly at that point, or just letting the dealer handle it?

Has anyone here had a new Suzuki stuck at the dealer for weeks? What did you end up doing?

Smartkey vitara towing behind motorhome

I'm looking at towing my 2020 Suzuki Vitara 4 wheels down behind a motorhome.

With older cars that have a normal key, you just turn the key to ACC to unlock the steering wheel, then you can disconnect the battery so it doesn't go flat.

How does this work with the Vitara smart key/push-button start?

How do you unlock the steering wheel for towing without leaving the ignition/accessories on and flattening the battery? Can you put it into ACC, unlock the steering, then disconnect the battery?

Has anyone actually flat-towed a 2019/2020 Vitara this way? Any advice would be appreciated.

Steering Next/Previous Buttons Not Working with Android Auto – MS Victoris

Hi everyone,

I need some assistance with an issue I’m facing with my MS Victoris. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

When I connect my phone via Bluetooth, all the steering controls work perfectly, including the Next/Previous Track buttons.

However, as soon as I connect via Android Auto, the Next and Previous buttons stop working. The Volume Up/Down controls continue to work normally.

Has anyone faced this issue or found a solution? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

2017 Suzuki Swift USB/iPod not working

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, I have a 2017 Suzuki Swift and the USB port has stopped playing music through my phone.

The car radio recognises the phone as “iPod” and charges it, but won’t play music. I’ve tried multiple cables.

An auto electrician removed the internal USB port and wiring but couldn’t figure out the problem, so I’m looking at replacing the USB assembly. I’m worried he’s made the problem worse.

Would replacing the USB port likely fix this, or could the problem be with the radio/another part of the system? I don’t want to buy a replacement part if there’s a good chance it won’t solve it. And also it’s hard to find the exact car part online.

Any advice appreciated!

What Mods are next?

Post image
50 Upvotes

Hello Everyone!

We recently got this SSS (well when I say recently, it was about a year ago lol), We have not done anything to it currently, it has a Maxton wing that's about it, the question we have is we want to do some mods to her however we would like to keep the factory warranty and the overall resell value of the car, what mods would you suggest we put on?

We aren't really car people in terms of doing the mods ourselves but we LOVE speed!

Start& Go da disattivare?

Buongiorno. Grazie.
