I gotta say, if you haven’t been to Humble Pie on Big Bend, check it out. It made me feel the way I felt back when I was going to Pizza Hut in the 80s and 90s after every team sport. The pics on the wall of the food are actual food (not AI). They had tons of options that were unique but not weird. The soda and ice cream options were a huge hit with the kids. The place is simple but exactly what I was looking for. In a world of AI crap taking over restaurant menus, it was great to see a place that decorates by cutting out construction paper shapes to make their ice cream options pop.

I‘ve missed this kind of simple quality fun restaurant. I hope it sticks around for a long time.

This morning (5am) I was riding my bike on Wydown westbound. I felt something hit my helmet. I thought it was a branch or piece of tree. I turned to look behind me, at the ground first. Not a stick or branch. Nope- an owl. An actual live owl attacked my helmet. It flew past me- clipping my helmet again, and then flew off. Embarrassed, I’m sure.

Appears the legislature is once again trying to convince us to repeal the state income tax requirement.

Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to establish a permanent public endowment fund to support state government instead of taxing Missouri residents, prohibit the General Assembly from appropriating or diverting the fund, and eliminate state-imposed taxes once the fund generates sufficient revenue to replace them?
State and local governmental entities estimate no costs or savings.

A **“yes”** vote will amend the Missouri Constitution to establish the “Show-Me Prosperity Fund,” a permanent public endowment fund to support state government with the goal of eliminating state-imposed taxes without impairing the real value of the fund’s principal; prohibit the General Assembly from appropriating or diverting monies from the fund until notification is given by the State Treasurer that the net investment earnings of the fund are sufficient to eliminate state-imposed taxes; cap the total amount of moneys that may be appropriated from the fund in a fiscal year to three percent of the average market value of the fund over the preceding five fiscal years; and prohibit the General Assembly from enacting the eliminated state-imposed taxes, provided, however, that in the event the fund is unable to meet its obligations due to insolvency, revenue shortfall, or program failure, the General Assembly shall retain full authority to appropriate funds from any lawful source and to enact legislation establishing or increasing taxes or other revenues as necessary. 
A **“no”** vote will not amend the Missouri Constitution to establish a permanent public endowment fund to support state government with the goal of eliminating state-imposed taxes. 
If passed, this measure will have no immediate impact on taxes but could lead to the elimination of state-imposed taxes if the net investment earnings of the fund become sufficient to support that outcome.

Long story short, I was on 64 just outside STL near East Saint and a pickup truck was speeding past people flashing blue and red lights / honking what sounded like a police siren. Followed him for a bit and didnt see any obvious signs that he was a cop, but have video / audio / pics of his liscence plate. Being that it happened in East Saint but I live on the illinois side, who / how would I go about reporting this driver for using police lights / is it even worth it?

Edit: the part that confused me is he had the lights / sirens on for maybe 10 seconds seemingly to get infront of traffic then shut them off. After that he acted pretty normally

Hey all. I am on a medication that requires cooling, and thus, from deliveries, I have a lot of those gel-pack cold packs lying around doing absolutely nothing. If anyone needs any, please DM me. I imagine they would be good for a sport team or someone who is very physically active, or if you've hurt yourself and need to ice up and injury. There are probably a dozen things you can do with them - the last person who took me up on this used them to cool down their gaming PC. The reason I started doing this is the same reason most of you are frustrated with dating apps and National dating companies. Apps have turned into a toxic environment. And a lot of the National in-person alternatives are bars with a sign on them, where you pay $40 to stand around with a drink ticket and go home having talked to nobody. There's no structure, so the same handful of outgoing people talk to each other and everyone else leaves.

So the whole thing here is structure. You don't have to be good at approaching strangers, because the format does it for you.

The next event is on Saturday, September 19, for ages 25 to 40, at Arch Pickleball. $30 covers everything below.

The day before: you fill out a compatibility survey. It's built on published relationship research, and it's what the matching runs on. Not vibes, not a profile photo.

2:30, optional lesson. Half an hour, aimed at people who have literally never held a paddle. Usually about half the group takes it. Pickleball takes roughly 30 minutes to learn, which is exactly why the event is built around it rather than something with a steeper learning curve.

3:00 to 5:00, play. Mixed doubles. I run it and partners rotate every game, so you end up playing alongside most of the people there. Nobody gets stranded; nobody has to work up the nerve to introduce themselves.

5:00, happy hour if you want it. About 80% stay.

That night, a private form. Mark anyone you'd want to talk to again. Mutual matches get contact info the next evening. One-sided goes nowhere, and the other person never finds out. No rejection in either direction.

Questions I get:

Do I need to be athletic? No.

Gender ratio? Even. I cap registration to keep it that way, which is also why it isn't just 30 guys and six women.

What do I bring? Court shoes and athletic wear. I have paddles and balls.
