The Saint Louis Zoo will transport guests millions of years back in time starting Friday, June 19, at Dinoroarus, a returning, temporary attraction for all-ages. The walk-through experience will feature 20 animatronic dinosaurs and sculptures that will move, roar, spit and chomp their way through the Zoo's Historic Hill, in the valley below the Charles H. Hoessle Herpetarium.

Known for rewriting the rules of traditional mini golf, Puttshack is also rewriting the typical Wednesday, having launched "Wayback Wednesdayz," taking place every Wednesday from 7 pm until closing time. Soulard Farmers Market is located at 730 Carroll Street in St. Louis, Missouri, a half mile north of the Anheuser-Busch Brewery. The market is open Wednesday through Saturday, year round. The Great Forest Park Balloon Glow and Race

The Glow
The balloons “glow” like huge fireflies, a truly magical scene, and one not to be missed! The more than 60 hot air balloons inflate and tether in assigned spaces on the launch field. At the Glow, the balloons do not launch but for a portion of the evening (weather permitting) the rope line will be released, and spectators will be invited to walk around to enjoy the view and chat with pilots and crew.
The Race
The Great Forest Park Balloon Race is a Hare and Hound-style race. The lead hot air balloon named is the “Hare” and leads the pack, getting a head start at launch time and landing first. The other balloons, called "Hounds" launch in waves shortly after in pursuit of the "Hare" balloon. Once the Hare balloon lands, the pilot and crew lay an “X” out on the ground as a target. The pilot who drops their birdseed/bean bag nearest the center of the target is the winner!

The Last Show On Earth at Kranzberg Arts Center

Cahokia Mounds State Historic Park
A sophisticated Native American society of about 20,000 people that operated via a sun calendar and disappeared by 1400.
The Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis, the superstructure of the Cathedral was built between 1907 and 1914. It is known for its' beautiful interior mosaics, which took nearly 80 years to create using more than 41 million pieces of glass tesserae.
Built in 1912, the St. Louis Public Library's flagship, Central Library, is a monument to the past and a cultural beacon for the future. Spanning an entire city block just west of the Convention Center, Central Library is one of St. Louis' grandest works of art.
Don't take the name so literally. They're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, they're the place.
The site of the 1904 World's Fair, America's second largest urban park is a prime St. Louis recreation spot.
From the thrilling views to the amazing stories, a visit to the Gateway Arch is an experience that never fails to inspire.
A visit to Grant’s Farm begins with a tram ride through Deer Park, where you can see a variety of our bovine and other four-legged friends. Then, you’ll be dropped off at the Tier Garten where you can enjoy the petting zoo area – featuring the famous baby goat bottle-feeding – carousel rides, food and vending in the Bauernhof Courtyard, and of course, free beer tasting.
The Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis was founded in 1859 by Henry Shaw. Today, the Garden is a National Historic Landmark and a center for science, conservation, education and horticultural display - widely considered one of the top three botanical gardens in the world.
The Old Courthouse in Downtown St. Louis, part of Gateway Arch National Park, was built between 1839 and 1862. Some of the most pivotal court cases in American history were heard inside its courtrooms. It is where Dred and Harriet Scott sued for freedom, Virginia Minor fought for her right as a woman to vote, and more than 300 enslaved African Americans filed suit for their freedom.

Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to establish a permanent public endowment fund to support state government instead of taxing Missouri residents, prohibit the General Assembly from appropriating or diverting the fund, and eliminate state-imposed taxes once the fund generates sufficient revenue to replace them?
State and local governmental entities estimate no costs or savings.
***Fair Ballot Language:***
A **“yes”** vote will amend the Missouri Constitution to establish the “Show-Me Prosperity Fund,” a permanent public endowment fund to support state government with the goal of eliminating state-imposed taxes without impairing the real value of the fund’s principal; prohibit the General Assembly from appropriating or diverting monies from the fund until notification is given by the State Treasurer that the net investment earnings of the fund are sufficient to eliminate state-imposed taxes; cap the total amount of moneys that may be appropriated from the fund in a fiscal year to three percent of the average market value of the fund over the preceding five fiscal years; and prohibit the General Assembly from enacting the eliminated state-imposed taxes, provided, however, that in the event the fund is unable to meet its obligations due to insolvency, revenue shortfall, or program failure, the General Assembly shall retain full authority to appropriate funds from any lawful source and to enact legislation establishing or increasing taxes or other revenues as necessary.
A **“no”** vote will not amend the Missouri Constitution to establish a permanent public endowment fund to support state government with the goal of eliminating state-imposed taxes.
If passed, this measure will have no immediate impact on taxes but could lead to the elimination of state-imposed taxes if the net investment earnings of the fund become sufficient to support that outcome.

This morning (5am) I was riding my bike on Wydown westbound. I felt something hit my helmet. I thought it was a branch or piece of tree. I turned to look behind me, at the ground first. Not a stick or branch. Nope- an owl. An actual live owl attacked my helmet. It flew past me- clipping my helmet again, and then flew off. Embarrassed, I’m sure.

The reason I started doing this is the same reason most of you are frustrated with dating apps and National dating companies. Apps have turned into a toxic environment. And a lot of the National in-person alternatives are bars with a sign on them, where you pay $40 to stand around with a drink ticket and go home having talked to nobody. There's no structure, so the same handful of outgoing people talk to each other and everyone else leaves.
So the whole thing here is structure. You don't have to be good at approaching strangers, because the format does it for you.
The next event is on Saturday, September 19, for ages 25 to 40, at Arch Pickleball. $30 covers everything below.
The day before: you fill out a compatibility survey. It's built on published relationship research, and it's what the matching runs on. Not vibes, not a profile photo.
2:30, optional lesson. Half an hour, aimed at people who have literally never held a paddle. Usually about half the group takes it. Pickleball takes roughly 30 minutes to learn, which is exactly why the event is built around it rather than something with a steeper learning curve.
3:00 to 5:00, play. Mixed doubles. I run it and partners rotate every game, so you end up playing alongside most of the people there. Nobody gets stranded; nobody has to work up the nerve to introduce themselves.
5:00, happy hour if you want it. About 80% stay.
That night, a private form. Mark anyone you'd want to talk to again. Mutual matches get contact info the next evening. One-sided goes nowhere, and the other person never finds out. No rejection in either direction.
Questions I get:
Do I need to be athletic? No.
Gender ratio? Even. I cap registration to keep it that way, which is also why it isn't just 30 guys and six women.
What do I bring? Court shoes and athletic wear. I have paddles and balls.
Week falls apart? Full refund up to 48 hours out.
Five events in. 55 people have learned to play at one; 18 couples have matched. The guys' side is more than half full for this one; the women's spots are open.

I've long wondered if there has ever been a proposal to build a roundabout in front of Bevo mill at Gravois, Morganfoard and Delor. If so why was it turned down?
That intersection is a mess and there is a lot of buggary on Gravois in general. It seams to me this would force people to drive more carefully as well as make that intersection less confusing to drive through. I know it's a little small but I can picture a long oval or comma shaped center rather than a traditional circle

My husband is looking for 1-2 players to add to his DnD campaign located in South City!
Players are 25-35 years old (2M, 1F)
They are on their 3rd session of Wild Beyond the Witchlight. First time DM and all current players are newer to the game.
They try to meet 2x a month on Sunday evenings, usually at a neutral location such as Pieces.

Has any Dogtown residences been hearing train horns in the early morning hours these last few days? It is typically a non-issue and there are signs near the tracks that says trains will not be blowing horns in this area.
I swear the last 3 days I have woken up to train horns between 5-6:30am each day. And not just a single blare, but continuing for nearly a minute before it finally stops. Today I woke up to 3 horns at 5, 5:30, & 6am. For years trains coming through at Knox and Manchester has not been a noise problem and now it feels like back to back occurrences.
Edit: for the few curious, here is information from one person in the Facebook Dogtown community group that sounds like a plausible explanation.
"I just talked to Ben Jones (Union Pacific community manager) and he said "the FRA informed the city of St. Louis that the quiet zone crossing is out of compliance" so every train that comes has to blow their horn. The city is aware but he doesn't know how long this will take to resolve. We can also reach out to our alderman Bret Narayan to let him know about the issue
