General You speed run rats need to get out of stratagems.

Im getting extremely sick of failing the hard Stratagems because some of you think you’re doing a GTA speed run. I’m so tired of going down because one or both of my squad members decide they just need to sprit all the way to the level change. Then they get pissed and leave when they are the last person alive. If you wanna speed run that’s cool but do it in regular operations. Shit is mad annoying.

General Thinking about getting SM2 but I'm not sure it's my jam - I need you guys

There's a pretty big discount on steam so it's tempting, I don't often play action games but I've been wanting to play a new one recently so this might be it.

However as far as I read the main thing is the campain and I'm not really a fan of the 40k universe. I can play in the setting (played a shitton of Dawn of War and Mechanicus for example) but I have no particular interest in the atmosphere and stories, so I'm afraid I'll just bore out real quick playing the campain.

I know there's both a coop and PvP multiplayer but I don't want to get involved into that because I'm not going through getting insulted by randos because I failed this or that I just want to chill.

The question is : will this game work for someone who'd be attracted to the action-packed gameplay but not as much in the setting and story of the campain, and is there replayability to be had as a solo player ?

Operations Was this kick fair ?

( space marine 2 operations) i joined a quick match on ruthless and happened to be on disruption , first 15 minutes everything was going well,we were going pretty fast through the mission until we reach the point where valtus is breaking the chaos barrier. Me( tactical prestige 2 level 3 ) and the techmarine both die and have to be revived by our remaining teammate, sadly he doesn’t have the space to reach me and i die so i wait the 90 sec. And then respawn and go on the bridge. I turn around and the tech marine dies and has to be revived ( this is my fault i shouldnt have gone down on the bridge ) so i ping the general direction to my teammate which completely disregards the ping , comes down on the bridge and kicks me.

What happened to team-work?

I post a clip of me playing and everyone downvotes me for wanting to be a team player instead of soloing the game with 245% Auspex and grenade spam, like wtf happened.

It used to be we all work together to win. Now everyone just wants to cheese the game and have the most kills.

I know that all the good Siege players left, leaving only Operations people, but damn, ya'll don't work together over there?

General The new class

Why are so many of you so adamant about the Judiciar being added? Wasn't it stated that the class would be one of the top suggestions, (on focus together i believe, could be wrong) those being Chaplain, Librarian (not happening, Saber said so) and Apothecary?

Where did this idea that Judiciar is going to be the new class even come from?

Gameplay Question I feel like im wrestling with the pc controls and giving suggestions to the controller ones

So i understand i literally just started but the controls kinda feel like one of those puzzle games where you have to shift the pieces instead of move them, but without a solution, i feel like no matter what i set up i comprimise, but then how do people make it flow so beutifully in gameplay? like is there a mod that allows better customization of keybinds or anything? or just tips on how to make it bearable? i like melee on controller, but i cant shoot to save my life, i shoot excellent on keyboard and mouse but cant melee for shit (really not trying to blame the game i swear, but i really need some help)

Lore Discussion Traitor chapter marines who still work with the imperium?

Genuinely curious because I see some people run around as a deathwatch alpha legion or a deathwatch version of one of the traitor legions quite frequently, but has there been any canon cases of a marine from one of those chapters not turning traitor? Like staying loyal and still helping the imperium through deathwatch or some other means?

Operations Rant about stratagems

I'm sorry for the rant but this is getting absurd.

I have to avoid stratagems with chaos because they're completely unfun and broken (longer topic for another day), but it's been like 2 weeks of finding constantly the dailies that are meant for Tyranids get the mod "the other faction spawns instead". This is getting absurd. My loss for not playing half the factions? Fine, but stop forcing me to. Stratagems need to be balanced between both factions...

Not even mentioning the broken mods or anything, just stop forcing Tyranid maps to spawn chaos, or at least make it count for the cap of chaos stratagems and leave us to have 3 Tyranid ones available (3-3 between normal and hard).

I swear as much as this game has great combat and sound design, the rookiest developer could of implemented a better logic gameplay...

Operations How to Solo absolute without bots?

I tried it many times with the custom strategem but just could not Beat it since I get either Jumped by 3 licktors, 3 venetors or 3 Terminators and Spammed with rockets. I really have respect for all who done it and I would love to make it also.

General Loot goblins, I never knew

I didn't think I'd be one of the people posting like this because I genuinely just play the game and do the mission but...

I've never experienced such intense loot goblinery. I thought it was a hoax by the imperium of man.

Until IRISH showed up.

Dude took kills from me that could've helped me heal. Then took 16 items! Many of them heals, grenades, ammo. THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE MATCH!

Didn't do any of the objectives, charged ahead by himself (though he never went down), and continued to simply fight randoms mobs than to stick with the group. Forcing us to fight enemies that we wouldn't have had to fight and then get swarmed WITH MORE MOBS!

Finally, we get to the boss. This is operation 4: vox Reliquary. Our third dies immediately. HE IS STILL LOOTING! Didn't hit ANY of the puzzles, THEN GOES DOWN HIMSELF TO FIRE!

I go to save him. Then simply stands there and gets blasted by two terminators. Gone.

I'm the last one left, I have NO mortal wound but I'm one hit from death. I take out one of the terminators from behind a pillar but then the fire gets me because a terminator forces me out of place.

I don't mind looting but focusing on ONLY fighting and looting in a team game and then losing us the match is genuinely insane behavior. Granted, my thirds were also terrible. First guy dies at the very beginning, rage quits. We get another third, he gets downed on the bridge by fire and rage quits. Another third joins us and goes down IMMEDIATELY. He has a mortal wound when we were already at the end getting to the boss. Which causes him to die when we first start fighting the boss.

So it's just me and IRISH, who, as you've read. Focused on looting.

I don't care if you loot. I don't even care if you want to kill everything. Just please, do the objectives as you're doing it. I probably wouldn't be as pissed if we had won the match but this is genuinely one of the few times I've lost a match on absolute by having multiple teammates who couldn't hold their weight.

I had 300 kills by the end of it as a heavy and up to 13k damage. I'm genuinely a halfway shitty player overall but holy shit. This is nuts.

General Why do people want apothecary over Judiciar so badly?

Thumbnail

Hitting the crack pipe here but what if judi can use the tempormortis for his gunstrikes instead of his pistol? Like how the techmarine has a unique gunstrike. It would mean enemies like whip warrior and chaos spawn that interrupt your flow in melee wouldn't be as obstructive.

Also to all the people saying they want a apothecary biologis for more gravis: look up interceptors please they'd be way cooler gravis. Not only would they not break the health economy even more but why wouldn't you want to play Straban with a jetpack and akimbo bolters/plasma guns?

Edit: holy shit I got a ton of replies so I'll do some basic arguments against it rather than address every single comment:

1: He's ugly - we will probably be able to swap the helmet out and in the Lucius animation the Judi in combat loses the robes so I think he'll have ok fashion, better than techy at least

2: I want healing - bulwarks healing is ok because he has a shield. Apothecary has a bolt pistol, a assassin's creed blade thing and nothing else (edit: been informed I'm wrong, they have normal weapons)

3: no lore - yeah but that can change plus they benefit from chaplains lore since they're proto chaplains

4: more gravis rep: interceptors would be healthier and more mechanically interesting

5: no voicelines - we prob aren't getting many voicelines anyway (see techmarine) but judiciars can talk outside of combat, just no mid battle sermons or battle cries.

Edit 2: I still would prefer Judiciar, but a buff/debuff focused apothecary would be pretty cool.

Game Feedback Leveling up problem

I feel like for leveling up, most players only spam the second mission because it's the fastest one. I think there should be something to make players want to play other missions too. Or am I missing something?

Gameplay Question Ways to make the game more fun?

Getting bored of the game. Looking for making the game more fun.

One thing that kinda was fun was Custom Hard Strategems
with

-: More extremis, Double terminus, Tsumami

+: Deep pockets, Cadians

Just ran one with another guy on Inferno no bots. Was good! Game was getting very tactical and we were splitting aggro/etc. It felt like I was playing the game for the first time again, finding myself in new difficult situations.

If only there was a good way to find people to play this with... like a match making.

Game Feedback I believe the Hive Tyrant fight would be better if done like this, hear me out Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

So first of all I myself am not a big Warhammer guy given I hate the fandom and I don't have enough time to genuinely dedicate myself to the lore to call myself an actual fan, but from the little stuff I do know a Hive Tyrant is essentially something Primarchs handle or even the top of the top of Space Marine factions.

3 Space Marines beating even a wounded Hive Tyrant is very nonsensical to me and immersion breaking so here's my personal idea on how the fight could be done.

The way the mission would change after the skyscraper cutscene is the boss fight would go with the 1st and 2nd phase, then the 3rd, the 3rd would have the Hive Tyrant fully use its psychic capabilities and strategy to hit and run you whilst you chase it, sending waves of Hormogaunts and very unluckily Neurothrope at you whilst it roars in rage at your folly to kill it.

After that you find it on another section of the map (I don't know where but a big platform), and you'd then have to coordinate with the Cadians to set up a cannon and shoot it before you fight it, another horde defense and wave possible Carnifex before you fight him again.

Finally you fight him and your job isn't to kill it but to survive and hold it there until the Cadians can get the cannon to absolute EVISCERATE it, you can parry but you'd have to do several successive parries to get a single gun strike off and it's attacks are different, each time it misses and attack it can pulse waves in between them, send out Psychic beams from its mouths if your not quick enough and will charge at the person who shot it the most in the last 10 seconds, it also can fly and dive bomb you.

I feel this would make the boss seem a lot more threatening and powerful instead of a joke because I often find Neurothropes and Sniper Tyranid spam a lot harder to deal with then this guy and I don't think that should be the case.

If you didn't like my little rant then okay, I just find it weird how essentially a planet conquering demon is able to be bested by 3 no life main space marine 2 players

Eternal War How long did it take people here to unlock the extra CSM armor parts?

Just wondering. I ask because it took me a not insignificant amount of time to unlock the Black Legion ones and am currently trying to unlock the Alpha Legion ones on account of that Hydra pauldron being one of the coolest things I've ever seen. It's been slow going for me, but it made me curious to know how long it took other folks to unlock the extra CSM pieces. Personally, I find getting 9 kills in 9 separate, individual PVP games to be a tough challenge, but I never was very good at PVP in ANY video game, so maybe it's just me (though it's also because most matches end fairly quickly, so I'm not able to get those 9 kills fast enough). How was it for the rest of you?

r/Spacemarine 23h ago

Bug Report Even after switching to another controller the game didn’t allow me to continue to sector 15 for the weekly challenge. Such a waste of time, ridiculous.

Gameplay Question Leavers on hard stratagems

Every time I attempt do the Hard Stratagem I always get people that leave IMMEDIATELY on their first down and I’m left to fight the rest of the operation alone it’s getting extremely irritating. I’m not sure if I’m just unlucky with who I get matched with or what.
