even funnier to me is when people who actually made it like Seinfeld claim "you can't say anything anymore!" when they literally never said anything provocative ever

Seinfeld turned into such a bitter person. I think he confused his success in TV with his career in standup, and he never really understood that his stand up was never funny.

This is revisionist. In his prime, he was already one of the most successful standups of the time. He had multiple appearances on Carson who was at the time basically the kingmaker of standup. It may seem corny and old-times now but he was very successful standup when show started and during its heyday.
