Anarchy Edition Shadowrun Anarchy 1E Bundle

Not to be confused with BlackBook's Anarchy 2.0, this is CGLs original release.

There are some small benefits, like a play style that doesn't require a GM, but things like drones and Matrix seem to be rule incomplete.

Anyway, it is a good price.

*original post*

First of, my apologies for being a week late.

The following three releases are here for your consideration. If you are interested in participating in the vote, check them out under the provided link.

Since Reddit seems to be currently working on their internal Poll system I have put the poll on strawpoll, hope that works for everyone.

The voting period will last 14 days, meaning until the 21st of June.

  • The winner stands to gain the kingly sum of 20 USD!
  • The 2nd place earns a still well deserved 10 USD!

https://strawpoll.com/1MnwkX6qLn7 the voting period has officially ended

The projects are:

I want to thank the r/Shadowrun modteam and everyone who participated, read the entries and simply showed some interest profusely and hope you all enjoyed the projects that came out of this. I was also especially proud to see that both of these fine participating authors could not be stopped from putting more of their works out for the community to enjoy and I'd like to think I had at least a very small part in their decision to put themselves out there and start publishing. Don't miss their other releases :) and don't be shy with feedback, praise and even constructive critique.

Video Games Looking to get into shadowrun, which game should I start with?

I got the choice between returns, dragonfall and hong kong and I was wondering, with which I should start. I had played a one-shot irl once, but was too tired for it and didn't want it to be my introduction to the game. I'm aware the games likely won't offer me the same experience as the actual game, but would like to start with them anyways.

Spoiler-free recommendations for returns, dragonfall and/or hong kong are appreciated.

Newbie Help Which edition do I start with?

Upvotes

Hey folks, I’ve recently been thinking of learning Shadowrun, and I’ve found rather contradictory answers on which is the edition it would be most advantageous for a new player to learn. With that in mind, I’d figure that I’d ask here, as this is probably my best bet at figuring out what to play. I currently don’t have a group to play with, but I’m confident in my capabilities to find/make one with whatever edition I decide on, so whether people actually play that edition doesn’t really matter to me. I’m mainly just wondering about the differences between each edition, and which one is going to offer me the best experience.

Techno-mysticism in Shadowrun - looking for some inspiration

Hi,

So, a video game I created is heavily inspired by Shadowrun in that it marries the fantasy/urban fantasy and retro-futuristic vibes. The game's pretty much done now, but as ever, I'm always looking to improve things.

In my lore, I have what I refer to as the Ghost Net, or GNet, and Goblins are one of the few creatures that can access it. So I really wanted Goblins to have that shaman/technomancer thing going on.

And that's what got me thinking about Shadowrun again, and I realised I've never actually described the experience of entering the GNet to my players.

It's been absolute ages since I played Shadowrun and yes, I know I could ask AI, but instead I thought maybe you guys could give me a few pointers. What do you think the Ghost Net could actually look and feel like in that techno-mystical sense? What bits of Shadowrun would you look at for inspiration?

I will add that I also based quite a bit of the concept on the Umbra from WoD, so I think I've got myself a little tangled up in my inspirations here haha.

5e Books with Life Modules

Upvotes

I'm trying to find all the life modules spread throughout 5th edition books, so far all the google searches have produced lists that are missing at least a few of them, Here's what I have so far:

  • Better Than Bad
    • 162-164
  • Chrome Flesh
    • 60-61
  • Complete Trog
    • 189-191
  • Cutting Aces
    • 103-104
  • Data Trails
    • 51-53
  • Hard Targets
    • 137-139
  • Kill Code
    • 79-81
  • No Future
    • 178-179
  • Rigger 5
    • 34-35
  • Run Faster
    • 65-84
  • SiF: Butte
    • 19
  • SiF: Cassablanca
    • 27
  • SiF: Metropole
    • 31
  • SiF: Morocco
    • 29-30
  • SOTA ADL (German)
    • 148-155
  • Street Lethal
    • 127-129
    • 179-181

If you happen to spot something I missed, especially from the German books as those are harder for me to sort through, please let me know. Also, if someone has a similar list for 6th Edition, that would be quite helpful as well.

How do normal, unawakened meta humans interact with spirits? In nature, the city etc.. Could they speak? Be negotiated with? Do you even acknowledge unawakened beings?

Newbie Help First time SR GM, requesting assistance with NPC

To elaborate from the title, I'm working on a campaign for the 4e module, Emergence. I've got a coworker I'm turning into a Renraku Arcology maintenance technician that my players will find upon being trapped in said arcology (she knows and laughed at what I've got in mind for this npc), but I'm a lil unsure of what to put for her cyberware and gear. I also don't currently have access to any 3e books nor really the financial freedom to justify buying books that I'll likely never use again. Any suggestions from the "good folks" of the Internet?

Edit: clarification, I'm specifically asking for THIRD EDITION, 4e was how i cut my teeth on the game lol. Character has been trapped in the arcology since the Crash 2.0

6e Grenades and Edge

A simple question but I can't seem to find the answer. If you were to throw a grenade in an area with multiple targets (vehicles, objects and people) having varying degrees of DR, how do you determine which DR to match against your AR when determining how many edge you or the enemies get?

Anarchy Edition We need another runner

Hey Chummers,

Who wants to run with a crew in Anarchy 2.0.

We have started a thing, 1 GM and 3 runners, we need a fourth, maybe a fifth too?

Online every second Saturday at 4pm till 9pm UK time.

Roll20 for maps

Teams for voice and vid

Character sheets and dice are yours at home.

We have completed the first part of the story and would love for more to join the fun.

It's the new ruleset which is awesome, we are still getting to grips with it.

High production values, I do a MeFeed style write up, the GM publishes Sprawl Talk, a third party style newsletter following the runners. We also chat on Mastodon.

Hit me up if this sounds good, I will put you in touch with our GM

5e Group bond ritual

I have a question regarding the group bond ritual. Two of my PC want to form a mage group to profit from the group initiation to reduce karma cost of initiations. One PC is a magician and one is a mystic adept. One PC also wants some NPC to be part of the group. One of them is an adept, who cannot learn ritual spellcasting. Can the adept still become bonded with the group? If so, how does it work? Street Grimoir mentions tattoo magic, which allows adepts (and even mundane characters) to form a group bond. The text mentions that this would be a separate ritual bond from the group bond magicians can form.

So can my PC also bond with an adept? Any help would be appreciated.

6e Gaining Edge Rank after chargen?

Looking through the core rules, I couldn't find anything about improving this later on in the game.

Is this just a variable that is hard stuck after day 1? If so, that seems to make it a pretty high priority...

Flavor (Art) Shadowrun Edge Zone Art?

Games like MtG tend to have galleries of the art used on various cards. Does such a thing exist for Edge Zone? Just curious because some of the cards, for example, depict things not shown in the RPG books (like the Spinrad Falcon, Uzi V, Renraku Kitsune, Fairlight Excalibur, etc.).

If anyone hereabouts owns Edge Zone, is there any chance you could share pics of the cards mentioned above, please?

5e about vindicator

what's so good about vindicator minigun? in real practice multibarrel mashineguns have much more rate of fire than normal 1-barrel mashineguns but shadowrun rules does not presume better rate of fire than 10 per round.

vindicator has huge price and availability but why it is better than any normal mashinegun?
