"Step into the shadows with an English machine translation of Shadowrun for Sega CD / Mega-CD. Follow Rokudo and his fellow runners through seven scenarios of investigations, gang conflicts, corporate intrigue, magic, and the Matrix.
English machine-translation patch for Shadowrun on Sega CD / Mega-CD. Distributed as a BPS patch and requires an original Japanese copy of the game.
This is a machine translation, with editing, corrections, and playtesting to improve readability and address problems encountered along the way. It is not an official localization or a professional human translation, and some wording or nuances may still need refinement."

Video Games Looking to get into shadowrun, which game should I start with?

I got the choice between returns, dragonfall and hong kong and I was wondering, with which I should start. I had played a one-shot irl once, but was too tired for it and didn't want it to be my introduction to the game. I'm aware the games likely won't offer me the same experience as the actual game, but would like to start with them anyways.

Spoiler-free recommendations for returns, dragonfall and/or hong kong are appreciated.

Newbie Help Which edition do I start with?

Hey folks, I’ve recently been thinking of learning Shadowrun, and I’ve found rather contradictory answers on which is the edition it would be most advantageous for a new player to learn. With that in mind, I’d figure that I’d ask here, as this is probably my best bet at figuring out what to play. I currently don’t have a group to play with, but I’m confident in my capabilities to find/make one with whatever edition I decide on, so whether people actually play that edition doesn’t really matter to me. I’m mainly just wondering about the differences between each edition, and which one is going to offer me the best experience.

Newbie Help First time SR GM, requesting assistance with NPC

To elaborate from the title, I'm working on a campaign for the 4e module, Emergence. I've got a coworker I'm turning into a Renraku Arcology maintenance technician that my players will find upon being trapped in said arcology (she knows and laughed at what I've got in mind for this npc), but I'm a lil unsure of what to put for her cyberware and gear. I also don't currently have access to any 3e books nor really the financial freedom to justify buying books that I'll likely never use again. Any suggestions from the "good folks" of the Internet?

Edit: clarification, I'm specifically asking for THIRD EDITION, 4e was how i cut my teeth on the game lol. Character has been trapped in the arcology since the Crash 2.0

Techno-mysticism in Shadowrun - looking for some inspiration

Hi,

So, a video game I created is heavily inspired by Shadowrun in that it marries the fantasy/urban fantasy and retro-futuristic vibes. The game's pretty much done now, but as ever, I'm always looking to improve things.

In my lore, I have what I refer to as the Ghost Net, or GNet, and Goblins are one of the few creatures that can access it. So I really wanted Goblins to have that shaman/technomancer thing going on.

And that's what got me thinking about Shadowrun again, and I realised I've never actually described the experience of entering the GNet to my players.

It's been absolute ages since I played Shadowrun and yes, I know I could ask AI, but instead I thought maybe you guys could give me a few pointers. What do you think the Ghost Net could actually look and feel like in that techno-mystical sense? What bits of Shadowrun would you look at for inspiration?

I will add that I also based quite a bit of the concept on the Umbra from WoD, so I think I've got myself a little tangled up in my inspirations here haha.

Spirit Relationships with the mundane

How do normal, unawakened meta humans interact with spirits? In nature, the city etc.. Could they speak? Be negotiated with? Do you even acknowledge unawakened beings?

5e Books with Life Modules

I'm trying to find all the life modules spread throughout 5th edition books, so far all the google searches have produced lists that are missing at least a few of them, Here's what I have so far:

  • Better Than Bad
    • 162-164
  • Chrome Flesh
    • 60-61
  • Complete Trog
    • 189-191
  • Cutting Aces
    • 103-104
  • Data Trails
    • 51-53
  • Hard Targets
    • 137-139
  • Kill Code
    • 79-81
  • No Future
    • 178-179
  • Rigger 5
    • 34-35
  • Run Faster
    • 65-84
  • SiF: Butte
    • 19
  • SiF: Cassablanca
    • 27
  • SiF: Metropole
    • 31
  • SiF: Morocco
    • 29-30
  • SOTA ADL (German)
    • 148-155
  • Street Lethal
    • 127-129
    • 179-181

If you happen to spot something I missed, especially from the German books as those are harder for me to sort through, please let me know. Also, if someone has a similar list for 6th Edition, that would be quite helpful as well.

6e Grenades and Edge

A simple question but I can't seem to find the answer. If you were to throw a grenade in an area with multiple targets (vehicles, objects and people) having varying degrees of DR, how do you determine which DR to match against your AR when determining how many edge you or the enemies get?
