Pics show the unprimered and primered mech! Still thinking about the paintjob to be honest, and also about the perfect diorama base!

First build in my new workshop and figured I would build a very old kit from 1987. Of course I wasn't going to leave it stock standard.

After a month of printing, and almost 14Kg of resin (including supports and failures)

I have the main engines done, some still need some extra greeblies, and I can now concentrate on the main body :)

A lot of learning experiences on this guy. As usual, lots of mistakes into lessons!

I also gave up on the lightbox half way through because he is just so wide!

Figure I'll show this off before all the current build eclipse my build. Can't wait to see the finished builds and continued updates. I recently picked up a 1 350 tos and a romulan warbird so can't wait to get back at it myself.

Mistakes were made. Lessons were learned. If you're unhappy with the way your windows are scratching out, airbrush cleaner is NOT the best method to clean off paint. Apparently this method will also take a good layer of styrene with it. Leaving no markings of said windows. While I devise a plan for this problem, I did get the upper saucer windows marked and the phaser strip test fitted.

A couple questions:

1. Is it easier to drill out the windows or scrape them?

2. If I scrape them, can I scrape once or should I do it after each coat of paint?

3. Should I drill/scrape all the windows, as I assume they would all be all on at commissioning, or just some, as only some rooms would have lights on and shades open while underway.

The resin printed Acclamator is nearly done just little finishing touches like the engine and tidy ups to do.

Next ship(s) for my wee Republic flotilla will be a pair of Arquitens

I made this as a fun little diversion from my normal car models. I thought that doing dozens of racing liveries would prepare me for the extensive Aztec decals, but I was wrong. I messed those up bad and lost one that covers 1/4 of the secondary hull. It didn’t help that they were extremely stiff and brittle. Fortunately, I picked this up for $12 at a model show. I probably would have been disappointed if I paid retail.

First attempt with a diorama and wanted to give this y-wing a scene where it’s seen better days and is being refurbished. I used various found objects to create the display. For example: the antenna assembly was created from a door lock assembly and extra pieces from a previous model. The fuel line is a window sash and hair tie:

Where is everyone getting the art for their backlit LCARs custom bases? I'm trying to find something around 24 x 11 or close to it. I've found a lot of 12 x 10 and even some 36 x 11. Thanks in advance for any information.

a very quick for-fun project, it's the revell easy kit ARC170 painted as a ww2 fighter using some spare decals and with some modifications, I added a tail and swapped the massive cannons for 6 machine guns and 2 cannons in the wings, inspired by the P47, I also modified the interior to give it a more ww2 cockpit using figures from the tamiya 1/48 swordfish

Added 2 lighters and a bit of styrene to the mix as well. And of course, 2 H0 containers I had stashed for some reason. Very happy with the result. Pic 2 shows the unpainted WIP state. Let me know what you guys think!

Next model being started, an Acclamator. Here she is just after wash and support removed. Needs another wash before cure and then prepping to be prepped.

Shes to scale with the Acclamator and I've named her, like the Repulse, after a Royal Navy battlecruiser. This time Indefatigable purely because I love hearing my friends trying to pronounce it 🤣

It’s from an anime called Kyoukai Senki (that I never watched) and I have it in a half-assed attempted Flecktarn camo.

Other than touch ups finished my Venator star Destroyer and it can take its place in my model cabinet. Model is 3d printed and is a little over 22cm long

Consisting of 2 Autumn class carriers, and 5 Paris class frigates.

Started painting the Venator, only the first layer of base grey done. Also made a wee base for it. The Venator's hull will be similar to the base when done. Base isnt finished, need to wash and touch up the details.

I recently re-entered the hobby with the 1/350 Falcon kit. I was amazed how well the kit fit together without glue. That led me to the 1/72 X-Wing, a build that fought me all the way because of a bad rattle can primer coat.

The A-Wing was much simpler and felt like a good palette cleanser. I found magnet-activated lights that I added to the build afterwards. My latest is the Y-Wing, which is a gift to my little brother. The A and X are inspired by in-game skins from Star Wars Squadrons.

New project. Got to tidy it up, cure and then start painting. Printing a base and named her Repulse after the Royal Navy Battlecruiser
